TRANSLATE Arabic Chinese French German Greek Indonesian Italian Hindi Japanese Korean Swedish Portuguese Russian Spanish Chinese Bronzes by Mario Bussagli. ... moreNOTE: We have 75.000 books in our library, almost 10,000 different titles. Odds are we have other copies of this same title in varying conditions, some less expensive, some better condition. We might also have different editions as well(some paperback, some hardcover, oftentimes international editions) If you don’t see what you want, please contact us and ask. We’re happy to send you a summary of the differing conditions and prices we may have for the same title. DESCRIPTION: Softcover. UK) Littlehampton(1974) 158 pages. The origins of bronze-working in China are mysterious and deeply rooted in ancient Chinese myths. Metallurgy in all its forms seemed miraculous to the ordinary man. And every object, sword or vessel, was thought to possess a spirit of its own. Those who worked with metals seemed to be wizards with supernatural powers, all the more so because the melting operation was preceded, accompanied, and followed by religious ceremonies, exorcism, and magic rites. Mario Bussagli describes the background to the production of Chinese bronzes in fascinating detail. And explains the significance of the different types of ritual vessel and the symbolism of the stylized decoration. The fine illustrations include objects from the Shang, Chou, Han and T'ang periods, and each is described fully in the accompanying notes. CONDITION: LIKE NEW. Unread oversized softcover(and in that sense"new" UK) Littlehampton(1974) 158 pages. Unblemished except for VERY slight edge and corner shelf wear to the covers. Pages are pristine; clean. Crisp, unmarked, unmutilated, tightly bound, and"unread" though I would add that it does appear that it was probably flipped through a few times while on the bookseller's shelf. Condition is entirely consistent with new stock from an open-shelf bookstore environment such as Barnes& Noble or B. Dalton) wherein

Neolithic good large scraper chopper axe stone tool from North America #1
A good quality. Large chopper or scraper from the Neolithic of Indiana, North America. A nice piece that fits well in the hand. Shown next to a 20mm/ 0.75 inch penny for scale. Welcome to our new budget fossils listings. We are aware that many collectors only require a single. Or smaller specimen of certain fossils, meteorites or artifacts and that is what we will be offering here. Please read the following as it applies to every budget listing. So you only need read it once as it is the same for every item: In all cases the following applies: You always get the exact specimen shown and the specimen is complete(unless noted or indicated as such by the images) Full geological data is included with each specimen even though it is not always listed in the listing description. If the item is shown on a gem jar then the gem jar measures 1 inch/27 ... moremm wide and it can be used to judge the size of the specimen. A best offer option is available on most listings and no reasonable offer will be ignored. Regarding shipping. Prices have skyrocketed recently for every shipping service(they have gone up again this year) It is no fun paying $9 for shipping on a $5 fossil, so to make it more attractive you pay only one shipping charge no matter how many items in our Budget categories that you buy. If you buy one item or 100 items from our budget categories then shipping is the same- basically you pay shipping on the first item and the rest are shipped free. Please note that larger and more valuable items not in the Budget categories will incur higher shipping costs. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. The cost of shipping is shown in each listing. On orders of $75 or more insurance is required and this is an additional $7. Due to the need to be able to list these low cost items quickly(otherwise it is not cost effective) we have posted largely unedited photos. In most cases the images are raw with no correction to lighting etc. but the zoom option will let you get a good look at the fossils. Again this sav

They continued to make tools from flint and some kinds of tools, such as scrapers for preparing hides, stayed the same. But the neolithic also saw the introduction of new kinds of stone tools Chipped stone tools are made from materials such as chert or flint. Radiolarite, chalcedony, basalt, quartzite and obsidian via a process known as lithic reduction. One simple form of reduction is to strike stone flakes from a core using a hammerstone If the goal of the reduction strategy is to produce flakes. The remnant core may be discarded once it has become too small to use. In some strategies, however, a flintknapper reduces the core to a rough unifacial or bifacial preform, which is further reduced using soft hammer flaking techniques or by pressure flaking the edges. More complex forms of reduction include the production of highly standardized tools, which can then be fashioned into a variety of implements such as scrapers, arrowheads, sickles and microliths An excellent opportunity to acquire a premium example of Neolithic workmanship Please see photos for exact cond
