Industry: Upper Palaeolithic: between Gravettian and Magdalenian III. Dating: the particular site from approx. 29.000 B.P to C 14 14.730 B.P. Description: Size: length 5.3 cm, weight 36 grams, Shape. Retouch: terrific endscraper on distal end of a huge wide blade or elongated flake. The endscraper has a wonderful retouch along ¾ of the left edge and the very convex tip. The right edge also has a continous retouch. Interrupted by the large notch on the interior side which looks like an use-scar, although, it has a very fine retouch at it’s edge. The proximal end is a genuine old break with a deep splintered use-scar at it’s center, proof that the tool was used after this break happened. Raw-material: flint ... morewith glossy beige patination on the interior side. And spotted white/beige patination on the exterior side. Preservation: very well: the scars on the interior side which may look like recent chips seem to be genuine old. With the same glossy varnish as on the tool’s entire surface. Retouch: a terrific. Small, sturdy double tool on flake: the end shown towards the top of the pictures in the burin on concave retouch truncation and the endscraper.
