Prehistoric carved stone head. Looks Celtish. Peat Bog find Very unusual.
This unusual large stone head. Was dug from a Peat bog, on the Merseyside Lancashire boarder. About 3 miles away from a official museum dig. The same tract of land. Looks Celtic but not sure. It was located prod searching(pressing a thin rod into the bog. And was at a depth of 30cm. There are no modern structures in the location. I.e posts walls tracks etc. Dimensions: 13cm x 8.5cm x 4.6cm. Weight: 993g This artefact may be a offerings of some description.
