Proto-Celtic stone projectile point circa fifth or sixth millennia B.C. It was recovered in excellent condition, entirely intact, and remains quite sharp– lethally sharp. This artifact is the perfect size for a brooch or lapel ornament, or mounted onto a chain, a pendant. With the addition of a contemporary pin or bail, it can be worn and enjoyed– an authentic“souvenir” of the ancient Celtic world. We could safely attach a contemporary pin. Either brooch or lapel style as shown below, left, or a jewelry bail(so as to mount a chain) without endangering the artifact. It would be an absolutely smashing brooch, lapel ornament, or pendant, sure to arouse interest and envy! Upon request we would be happy to mount a pin or bail(including a chain) without charge– but you must request it. No request and you’ll receive the stone projectile point with no pin or bail attached. If you request(follow the links below) We could mount the artifact onto a framed display plaque. Completely intact. Heavy wear consistent with sustained(ancient) usage, very light(surface pitting caused by contact with earth while buried) Professionally conserved. DETAIL: A handsome. Nicely constructed Roman bronze ring with a raised platform, six-sided bezel which at one time would have been engraved. However the ring was worn for such an extended period of time that though the ring is entirely intact and its integrity undiminished, nonetheless whatever engraved design it once bore was worn smooth. It is quite likely that the ring was worn most of a lifetime, as it would take most of a life time to wear an engraved bezel smooth. In fact the extent of the wear is significant enough that it suggests that the ring might have been worn during the lifetime of more than one owner. Perhaps it was a family heirloom handed down between generations. Though the ring was not originally produced to hold a gemstone. The large, flat bezel seemed to invite a gemstone. So we mounted a large, natural, antique, handcrafted Siberian Unakite semi-precious gemstone using jeweler’s epoxy. The gemstone is quite secure, but if you at time in the future wished to remove it, this could

It was when created a fairly sophisticated and surely costly bracelet. The bracelet was not recovered entirely intact, as you can see, but originally it would have been of a reasonable good size considering the slight build of ancient Romans(the ancient population tended to be considerably smaller than contemporary populations) Originally the two ends of the bracelet would have come close to meeting one another. However the trailing ends of each side by their nature were quite thin and fairly fragile, and susceptible to loss through either breakage or corrosion. The tip of one of the two ends was broken off and lost in antiquity, or simple corroded away. The other side the end was fractured and then

In Search of England: Journeys into The English Past by Michael Wood. DESCRIPTION: Hardback with Dust Jacket: 336 pages. Publisher: University of California ... morePress; 1999) England is the birthplace of many immortal legends told around the world: King Arthur and Camelot. The Holy Grail, Robin Hood, the mysterious Isle of Avalon. But are these famous stories based on historical events and actual people? And what do they tell us about the character and origins of the Anglo-Saxon world, a culture that helped shape American identity? In his absorbing new book, Michael Wood examines the roots of English history. Peeling back the layers of literary and oral material that have accumulated over the ages, he offers a fascinating series of rich stories; part history, part myth; that, directly or indirectly, touch on questions of English history and identity. He looks back at the legends surrounding Alfred the Great, King Athelstan, the lost library of Glastonbury, and more. Wood's emphasis is the Early Middle Ages. And the first two sections of the book offer deep excursions into particular moments in the history of that era. In addition to recounting some well-known legends, Wood considers the manuscripts and other primary sources of historical information on which they are based, assessing the validity of existing documentation, fleshing out historical contexts, and considering the treatment throughout history of these stories by famous writers, poets, and moviemakers. In the third part of"In Search of England" Wood writes about places that illuminate interesting aspects of early England: Tinsley Wood, near Sheffield, which has been claimed as the site of Athelstan's great victory against the Celts in 937; a farmhouse in Devon which has been occupied since Domesday and possibly long before; and the village of Peatling Magna in Leicestershire, scene of an extraordinary confrontation with King Henry III in 1265. These are the places and events that offer a complementary version of the history that is discuss

30 Sahara Neolithic relics - tools, celt, beads, and 1 paleolithic tool.
This group of 30 Sahara Neolithic relics is composed of diverse types of relics. Which were discovered on ancient habitation sites deep in the western Sahara desert, mostly in the vicinity of northern Muaratania/Mali but also includes two trianglar Eiffel Tower points from Algeria(top second from right and the one right beneath it) This group consist of several types and subtypes of projectile points from varying periods of the Neolithic era. Including ovate, stemmed, triangular, and unifacial tool forms. In all there are 16 stone projectile points and tools, 10 hard-stone beads(mostly quartz disc beads) one pottery bead(western Mauratania) one hardstone celt, and a cylindrical labret of quartz thought to be used in body piercing or lips or ears. Not perfect, tt may have ancient damge, hard to tell but stil nice. There is one unifacil blade ... moreseen at the bottom row to the right is from the late Mesolithic era or early Neolithic Morocco. Dating to approximately 7,000 years Before Present. At the upper right you will see an Auterian tool. This is the earlier known type of stone tool with a stem for hafting. Probably to serve as a knife/scrapper. It is classic form with a tipped which is worked around for scrapping(not broken) This relic is a good 30,000 years old, possibly much older. This is one of the more diverse offering of ancient Sahara relics you will find. The shortest point is a triangle of 5/8th inch(17 mm) long. The longest tool is a nice tan Mesolithic period blade. Is 2 13/16th inches(71 mm) long. The celt is 1 inches(26 mm) long. Heel to bit. It has been worked down to a stubby form with a bit dulled from usage. Th ese are everyday work tools and adornments used. And lost or discarded by our Neolithic and earlier hunter-gatherer ancestors. They are all honest, authentic relics in good shape, some will exhibit minor ancient damage(as seen in he photograph) Such as dings, usually to tips, tangs, and/or barbs to stemmed points. Small dings are to be expected given their delicacy, usage, and 4

27 nice Sahara Neolithic relics - tools, celt, beads, and 1 paleolithic tool.
This group of 27 Sahara Neolithic relics. PLUS one PALEOLITHIC Aterian tool, is composed of diverse types of relics, which were discovered on ancient habitation sites deep in the western Sahara desert, mostly in the vicinity of northern Muaratania/Mali but also includes two triangular'Eiffel Tower' points from Algeria. This group consist of several types of projectile points from varying periods of the Neolithic era. Including ovate, stemmed, triangular, and unifacial tool forms. In all there are 18 Neolithic stone projectile points and tools including: two early unifacial tools(seen at bottom right corner) and one crecent blade. Also from the Neolithic there are also 5 hard stone beads, drilled biconically as was the method, 2 partial pottery beads, one labret(thought to be used in body piercing/adornment) and one hard stone celt. ... moreAt the upper right you will see an Aterian tool from the Sahara. This is the earlier known type of stone tool with a stem for hafting. Probably used to serve as a knife/scrapper. This tool is VERY old with weathered features and work around into a semi-circle. The point has been worked into a shape for cutting/scrapping and was probably a hafted scrapper rather than a spear point(possibly re-purposed) This type of tool was used during a wet period in the Sahara 40,000 to 30,000 years ago; this relic is 1 1/2th inches(38 mm) long. The Aterian culture disapperaed from the Sahara about 30.0000 years ago. During later wet periods(corresponding to the Ice Ages in northern Europe) later cultures re-popolulated areas of the Sahara leaving different tool types in the Mesolithic and Neolithic eras. This is one of the more diverse offering of ancient Sahara relics you will find in one lot. The shortest point is 13/16th inch(20 mm) The longest tool is 2 9/16th inches(66 mm) long. The celt is 1 inch(26 mm) long. Heel to bit. Th ese are everyday work tools and adornments used. And lost or discarded by our Neolithic and earlier hunter-gatherer ancestors. Rare Archaic Neolithic Meteorite? Stone Celt Nepal Adze Adz Artifact Ax Axe Tool
In past years. I was able to find a number of true archaic stone adzes, celts or axes in Nepal, but on my recent trip, I only managed to acquire a few. I taught anthropology and archaeology at the University of Guam and I know authentic neolithic technology and this one is a genuine archaic celt that about 2,000 years old from the Neolithic Period. The celt sticks to a magnet, so has a high iron content and I am told by local Nepalese that it is what they call a sky stone or made from meteoritic material, but I am NOT a meteorite expert, so I cannot guarantee it is meteoritic. It would take laboratory analysis to determine its composition precisely. I can only tell you what the locals claim and let you come to your own conclusion in that respect, but I can guarantee it is an authentic archaic artifact. It is 2 inches in length. Please note ... morethe shipping cost is $9 for Registered International Airmail from BANGKOK. THAILAND to anywhere in the world and there is a starting price of only $19.99. NEOLITHIC STONE TOOL CELT AXE HEAD from Thailand
NEOVENATOR Possibly the UK's biggest killer dinosaur. It once roamed the areas of Southern England around 120 million years ago. Preying on the herds of Iguanodon and also, I would imagine, the numerous long necked sauropods that were around at this time. It is related to the T-Rex busting Carcharodontosaurus. NEOLITHIC AXE HEAD CELT ANCIENT ARTIFACT FROM THAILAND DETAILS Period: Neolithic Age: circa 2.500 years BC Material: Alas. Too much weathering conceals the true identity of the rock material- although it is very hard- some type of quartz rich volcanic rock. When you think of the Neolithic period of human development. One is immediately drawn to the building of stone circles, such as those at Avebury and Stonehenge. Were these people as primitive as we initially thought? New studies indicate a more advanced intelligence that has ... morestill baffled the boffins. was Stonehenge a place of worship or a celestial observatory? Or both? Certainly there is evidence to point to the positions of stones reflecting the solar and lunar calendars. but was that all? We will possibly never know. Yet, we can still admire the stone technologies of these people from thousands of years ago. And here is one piece of history that can tell it's own story. Buried for 4,500 years, it is now available for all to admire. Celts or axe heads were other commonly used tools by the Neolithic People. The advancement in stone technologies during this period also saw flaked axe heads being replaced by'polished' edges. Polisher' stones were used to create the desired effect and numerous examples of this are evident throughout this period- just like you would sharpen a chisel with a sharpening stone now. This is how it was done then. By doing this the it was found that the blades became more efficient when cutting wood etc. Celts were also highly prized processions and many ancient grave sites have been found buried with such perfect artifacts. 32 nice Sahara Neolithic relics - 24 tools, 6 beads, 1 labret, and 1 celt
This group of 32 Sahara Neolithic relics is composed of diverse types of relics. Which were discovered on ancient habitation sites deep in the western Sahara desert, mostly in the vicinity of northern Mauritania/Mali but also includes two'Eiffel Tower' points from Algeria. This group consist of several types of projectile points from varying periods of the Neolithic era. Including ovate, stemmed, triangular, and a couple of even earlier uni-facial tool forms. In all there are 24 Neolithic stone projectile points and tools including: two early uni-facial tools(seen at bottom row) There is a crescent blade below the beads. Also from the Neolithic are 6 hard stone beads of quartz and one cylindrical labret of rose quartz, thought to be used in body piercing/adornment, with an ancient break. The shortest point is 5/8th inch(17 mm) The ... morelongest tool is 2 3/8th inches(62 mm) long. This is one of the more diverse offering of ancient Sahara relics you will find in one lot. Small dings are to be expected given their delicacy, usage, and 4000+ years lying in the desert, subject to damage by adverse weather, animals, and now 4-wheel drive vehicles. These relics exhibit good patinas and are a nice, diverse sampling of relics from the Western Sahara. My auctions feature low starting bids and fair low cost shipping.
