This unifaced axe has been made from a thick flint flake. It is a wedged triangular shape with a nicely worked convex base. Superb. Large Acheulian Side& End Scraper, Found Near Swanscombe, Kent a775 For sale; from my personal fieldwalking collection. Is this Acheulian side and end scraper in amazing condition. This tool has been made on a good quality flint flake detached from a nodule. It is elongated in plan with a rounded proximal end and a wide flat distal scraping edge that has been very finely retouched. The side scraping is long and has also been finely retouched bifacially. Both side edges of the tool have a significant s shaped twist. The small area that remains cortical fits in the palm very nicely. This scraper is in outstanding condition. It has very fine detailed working with wonderful patination. Far better in the hand than the photos. Made by Homo heidelbergensis. Dating approx 350.000-200,000 years. Found Norththfleet. This tool has been made on a good quality almost black flint core. The tool is slightly trapezoid in plan. The distal point is wide and has a slight angle to it like a cleaver. The proximal end is flat and has been created using a tranchet blow. Both the side edges have a notable curve towards the distal end. The base is concave and smoothly finished. This biface is in outstanding condition. It has fine detailed working with wonderful patination. Far better in the hand than the photos. Made by Homo heidelbergensis. The axe has been made on thick flint flake detached from a nodule. This biface is spatulate in plan. It has been partially bifaced and has been made with two points, one wide cleaver type point. The other point is elongated and bifacially worked. The tool retains a large cortical area to the dorsal face. The side edges are straight. One side edge is thick for grasping, while the other side edge is thin and bifacially retouched, this edge looks to have been used as a side scraper. This biface is in good condition. Is this outstanding and very rare naviformes à talon biface. This thick biface has been made on a marbled fint core. It has been made to a similar shaped plan as a ships hull and is pointed at either end. The smaller point is quite finely made and pointed. It has been made with a subtle notch to wrap the thumb around. This particular biface is of a very rare type. They also can be termed as fusiform bifaces. It has been made for right handed use and is very ergonomic. Both faces have been finely worked to a flat finish. It is of a shallow sub triangular plan with a thickly worked and rounded proximal end with a small protruding cortical triangular scraping edge. The tool looks fresh.
