3 Archaic Neolithic Bronze Ax Trade Money Adze Laos Lao Artifact Axe
Here are THREE very nice Neolithic Bronze Ax Heads found in Laos. They would have been hafted for fine woodworking. But as bronze would have also been used in trade, dowries or monetary exchange like bars and coins would be in later times. They are 2.25, 2 and 1.75 inches in length. Farmers find these when they plow fields where there were archaic settlements and bring them to the morning market. They clean the crusty green verdigris from them to expose the bronze which is comprised of native copper and tin. NOTE: One of the axes was crimped by a farm implement when plowed up from a field(see second pic) Please note the shipping cost is $10 for Registered International Airmail from BANGKOK. 5 Rare Archaic GUAM CHAMORRO SLINGSTONES & ADZE Sling Stone Artifact Ancient
Here are FIVE authentic ancient Chamorro slingstones and adzes from the Island of Guam in the Western Pacific. I have treasured these artifacts which were a gift to me over thirty years ago when I was a student researching Chamorro medicine with suruhano curers. I would not part with them if I did not need funds for medications. I lived and worked on Guam for 19 years and am now 65 and residing in Thailand. I would be happy for these artifacts to return to the island. These three slingstones were surface finds and were crafted by the ancient Chamorro about 500 years ago. These were shaped from volcanic basalt and limestone. One of them is hard limestone and another is a lighter limestone. The two adzes were crafted from volcanic basalt. I have other selections of basalt and limestone slingstones offered as well in this auction. Slingstones ... morewere likely used in warfare and possibly for hunting. Though the largest game at the time were fruit bats and birds. The adzes were used for woodwork and most likely hafted to a handle with fiber. Please note the shipping cost is $15 for Registered International Airmail from BANGKOK. THAILAND to anywhere in the world and there is a starting price of only $79.99. If you have multiple wins, I will reduce shipping as much as possible, however if your parcel is over $100 in value, I will quote Express Mail Service shipping for maximum safety, speed and detailed online tracking. 7200Y.O: LOT OF STONE AGE NEOLITHIC SHERDS AX ADZE SHELL LINEAR POTTERY CULTURE
EUROPEAN STONE AGE ARTIFACTS BY PALATINA AUTHENTICITY GUARANTEED Description from the Early Neolithic Linear Pottery Culture. Dating 5600/5500-4900 bc. and other different Central European Neolithic Cultures. The Linear Pottery culture or(German) Linearbandkeramik(abbr. LBK) Bandkeramik, Linear Band Pottery culture, Linear(Band) Ware culture, Linear Ceramics culture, Danubian I culture of V. Gordon Childe, Early Danubian culture or Incised Ware Group is a major archaeological horizon of the European Neolithic(stone age) flourishing ca. 5500—4500 BC. The heaviest concentrations are on the middle Danube, the upper and middle Elbe, and the upper and middle Rhine. The LBK represents the advent of agriculture into this part of the world. The LBK at maximum extent ranged from about the line of the Seine—Oise(Paris Basin) eastward to the line of ... morethe Vistula and upper Dniester, and southward to the line of the upper Danube down to the big bend. An extension ran through the Western Bug river valley, leaped to the valley of the Dniester, and swerved southward from the middle Dniester to the lower Danube in eastern Romania, east of the Carpathians. Danube lands near Vienna, by Johann Christian Brand, ca. 1760The LBK did not begin with this range and only reached it toward the end of its time. It began in regions of densest occupation on the middle Danube(Bohemia, Moravia, Hungary) and spread over about 1500 km along the rivers in 360 years. The rate of expansion was therefore about 4 km per year, which can hardly be called an invasion or a wave and does not offer much support to theories of population replacement. A model of gradual colonization is perhaps most apt. The LBK was concentrated somewhat inland from the coastal areas; i.e. it is not evidenced in Denmark or the northern coastal strips of Germany and Poland, or the coast of the Black Sea in Romania. The northern coastal regions remained occupied by Mesolithic cultures exploiting the then fabulously rich Atlantic salmon runs. There are lighter concentrati

British Mesolithic Thames Pick/Adze. From Kent. me2 Here for auction is a Mesolithic flint adze. Or Thames pick, this tool is in good condition and would make a nice addition to a collection. Length: 12cm x W: 5cm The Mesolithic period(or'Middle Stone Age' in Britain dates from just after the end of the Pleistocene(Ice Age' approximately 11.600 years ago, to the beginning of the Neolithic period about 4000 calibrated years BC. In England the period is traditionally divided into Early(about 9600-6000 BC) and Later(about 6000-4000 BC) phases mainly based on lithic artefact typologoes and technology. People at this time were hunter-gatherers who practised high logistical mobility within what was an increasingly wooded environment. Britain was joined to Europe at the start of the period. As it was for much of the preceding Upper Palaeolithic ... moreperiod. The English Channel and North Sea were originally low-lying plains, but were gradually submerged as the climate warmed and the ice from the last glacial period melted. Britain became an island by about 6,000 BC. As the climate warmed, the land also became densely forested with hazel, birch, lime elm and oak, and the large fauna became dominated by red and roe deer, elk and pig. Most of the evidence for Mesolithic activity in England consists of stone artefacts. ALL CUSTOMERS* I offer combined shipping on multiple items. Rare Archaic Neolithic Meteorite? Stone Celt Nepal Adze Adz Artifact Ax Axe Tool
In past years. I was able to find a number of true archaic stone adzes, celts or axes in Nepal, but on my recent trip, I only managed to acquire a few. I taught anthropology and archaeology at the University of Guam and I know authentic neolithic technology and this one is a genuine archaic celt that about 2,000 years old from the Neolithic Period. The celt sticks to a magnet, so has a high iron content and I am told by local Nepalese that it is what they call a sky stone or made from meteoritic material, but I am NOT a meteorite expert, so I cannot guarantee it is meteoritic. It would take laboratory analysis to determine its composition precisely. I can only tell you what the locals claim and let you come to your own conclusion in that respect, but I can guarantee it is an authentic archaic artifact. It is 2 inches in length. Please note ... morethe shipping cost is $9 for Registered International Airmail from BANGKOK. THAILAND to anywhere in the world and there is a starting price of only $19.99. 6400Y.O: RARITY AX ADZE DANISH STONE AGE MESOLITHIC FLINT ERTEBOLLE CULTURE
NORTHERN EUROPEAN STONE AGE ARTIFACTS BY PALATINA AUTHENTICITY GUARANTEED Description"Unsymmetrical Flake Ax( Axe Adze) The length of this wonderful flint ax is 76 mms. Belonging to the later Erteboelle- Ellerbek Culture from 5400-4000 bc. The last Mesolithic Period. Flake axes are the earliest form of axe known from the Nordic stone age. First appearing during the Maglemose period. They were made from large flint flakes possessing a sharp edge which formed the cutting surface. It is likely that flake axes were hafted with the flat broad side facing upwards and the cutting edge at right angles to the handle like an adze. To begin with, flint suitable for the manufacture of such flake axes was in plentiful supply. However, flints found on the surface were often frost-damaged and so raw material for making the large flake axes soon became ... morescarce. A new type of axe, the core axe, gradually appeared and became ever more common but flake axes, often manufactured from irregular flint fragments, persisted throughout the Maglemose(8900- 6400 bc) and Kongemose(6400- 5400 bc) periods. Rising sea levels at the end of the Hunter-Gatherer period, exposed chalk cliffs and glacial morains, thereby providing new sources of flint. The improved availability of good flint may explain the renewed occurance of the flake axe during the Erteboelle period. Flake axes from the Early Neolithic period, often of irregular form and occasionally with polishing on the blade, occur very frequently. After about the middle of the Dolmen period, flake axes essentially disappeared. They appeared once again during the Dagger Period(2400- 1800 bc) and the Early Bronze Age, where often rather inferior quality flake axes are found associated with settlement sites. The side-edges of the unsymmetrical flake axes are trimmed from opposite sides; as a rule the front side is not trimmed smooth. Though sometimes it is; in these cases the implement is mostly a flat-trimmed flake ax on which the trimming has removed the original side-edge at one s
