Mesolithic/neolithic Danish core axe/adze with a concave cutting edge from the late Ertebølle/early Beaker culture. Ca. 3000-2000 BC Weight: 197 grams. Length: 10.5 cm. Width: 5 cm These core axes come in a variety of forms. I haven't seen many of this type. It would have been set in the shaft horizontally and used in wood working rather than in the felling of trees. It is undamaged and has a beautiful patina. This axe was found on the isle of Mors, north-west Jutland. It is from an old collection.

Here are FIVE authentic ancient Chamorro slingstones and adzes from the Island of Guam in the Western Pacific. I have treasured these artifacts which were a gift to me over thirty years ago when I was a student researching Chamorro medicine with suruhano curers. I would not part with them if I did not need funds for medications. I lived and worked on Guam for 19 years and am now 65 and residing in Thailand. I would be happy for these artifacts to return to the island. These three slingstones were surface finds and were crafted by the ancient Chamorro about 500 years ago. LOT OF 5 DIFFERENT AUTHENTIC ANCIENT PREHISTORIC NEOLITHIC SLOTTED/ HAFTED STONE ADZES COLLECTED FROM CENTRAL VIETNAM, TOTAL OF 185.2 GRAMS IN WEIGHT These beautiful pieces were recently acquired from the estate of"Saigon Joe" He was a former US Army Serviceman that served in the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1968. And had collected and dealt in US Military collectibles, as well as Vietnam antiquities, and had sold here on eBay years ago. He also ran a small Vietnam War museum here in the Chicagoland area that has since closed. These stone adzes were personally acquired by him during his service in the Vietnam War. The rust color tone to these are indicative of the same red colored soil found in this area and are made from a chalky. White stone, carved and shaped in a"buffalo tooth" slotted style, which were fastened to a wood handle. Each is in excellent condition for being 2000+ years old and dug from the ground. As stated. They have a rusty, red color to them from being buried in the red soil of the region. Some may have slight chips to them, but nothing major that causes them to be completely damaged. Each varies in size and weight, but have very similar thickness around 1/2" Smallest piece weighs 20.7 grams and the largest weighs 51.0 grams, while all 5 weighs a complete total of 185.2 grams. Rare Archaic Neolithic Meteorite? Stone Celt Nepal Adze Adz Artifact Ax Axe Tool
In past years. I was able to find a number of true archaic stone adzes, celts or axes in Nepal, but on my recent trip, I only managed to acquire a few. I taught anthropology and archaeology at the University of Guam and I know authentic neolithic technology and this one is a genuine archaic celt that about 2,000 years old from the Neolithic Period. The celt sticks to a magnet, so has a high iron content and I am told by local Nepalese that it is what they call a sky stone or made from meteoritic material, but I am NOT a meteorite expert, so I cannot guarantee it is meteoritic. It would take laboratory analysis to determine its composition precisely. This is a very nice. Authentic Paleolithic Period stone adze from Laos. I taught Anthropology at the University of Guam and know authentic lithic technology when I see it. Up for bid is a polished black Neolithic Adze tool. This item was purchased at an auction and comes from the Brooklyn Museum. The case that the item came in is marked"Babylonian Stone Implements. Brooklyn Museum" This was purchased at an auction and at one time was decommissioned from the museum located in New York City. I have been collecting stone artifacts for many years and guarantee authenticity. Ancient Babylon was one of the first civilizations in the world. I am not sure how old this artifact is as my primary collecting knowledge is in North American artifacts. NORTHERN EUROPEAN STONE AGE ARTIFACTS BY PALATINA AUTHENTICITY GUARANTEED Description"Unsymmetrical Flake Ax( Axe Adze) The length of this wonderful flint ax is 76 mms. Belonging to the later Erteboelle- Ellerbek Culture from 5400-4000 bc. The last Mesolithic Period. Flake axes are the earliest form of axe known from the Nordic stone age. First appearing during the Maglemose period. They were made from large flint flakes possessing a sharp edge which formed the cutting surface. It is likely that flake axes were hafted with the flat broad side facing upwards and the cutting edge at right angles to the handle like an adze. To begin with, flint suitable for the manufacture of such flake axes was in plentiful supply. However, flints found on the surface were often frost-damaged and so raw material for making the large flake axes soon became ... morescarce. A new type of axe, the core axe, gradually appeared and became ever more common but flake axes, often manufactured from irregular flint fragments, persisted throughout the Maglemose(8900- 6400 bc) and Kongemose(6400- 5400 bc) periods. Rising sea levels at the end of the Hunter-Gatherer period, exposed chalk cliffs and glacial morains, thereby providing new sources of flint. The improved availability of good flint may explain the renewed occurance of the flake axe during the Erteboelle period. Flake axes from the Early Neolithic period, often of irregular form and occasionally with polishing on the blade, occur very frequently. After about the middle of the Dolmen period, flake axes essentially disappeared.
