Antique Child's Dresser Hand Made Early Painted Piece Mirror 4 Drawers Chippy
Primitive Antique Child's Dresser Great little Mirrored Dresser. Originally purchased at the Brimfield Antique Show in MA. This is a great little chippy piece. Do not know the history, my guess it was a hand made piece by someone with very good wood working skill. There is a nice carved pediment across the top over an early mirror. Turned columns on the sides of the mirror and nice decorative trim around the mirror. There are two shallow wide drawers and two square deeper drawers on the bottom. As you can see in the pictures one of the drawer bottoms was made from a wood crate and one of the sides also shows the imprint of a wood crate under the paint(see last picture) There are old metal wheels on the bottom. In good solid antique condition. The paint is worn and chipped, there is wear to the mirror with some silver loss, on the side ... morewhere the imprint of the crate can be seen there is a break to the trim wood on the back corner. On the old wood backing it looks like there is an old water mark. It has seen years of use. Still a great primitive chippy piece that could be left as is, or repainted for a bright clean finish. The top piece with the columns and the mirror is held on with screws and can be removed to cut down on shipping cost. Dresser measures 31" tall. 19" wide and about 12" deep. Berkey and Gay Mahogany/ hand-painted 2 piece bedroom chest and dresser w/ mirror. Practically in new condition, over 100 years old and minimal flaws, chest has key and locks perfectly! However drawer is cracking inside, but does not effect use. Mirror is spotting on top. Please see pictures. Pictures do not do justice to this piece, a must have! Here is sum history on this furniture: 1915- 1931: The era between World War I and the Great Depression was Berkey& Gay's zenith of production. Upholstering was spun off to subsidiaries like Wallace Upholstery and Grand Rapids Upholstery. So Berkey& Gay concentrated on living room and bedroom suites. Although designs ran the gamut of freely translated European and American revival styles, most tended toward larger, heavier periods like Elizabethan, William and Mary, and American Empire. ... morePieces were well constructed. A variety of woods was used. Mostly dark mahoganies and walnuts, with occasional accents of lighter woods, painted decoration, or exotic materials like turquoise. These were further darkened by the application of stains wiped around edges and carvings, to give the appearance of age. One interesting novelty was the"Old Ironsides Table. of which only about 100 were produced. Its scalloped apron and block-turned legs and stretchers were adapted from an illustration in a Wallace Nutting book on American antiques. This is one of our lovely custom pieces. It is a unique one of a kind piece that can be used as a dresser. Buffet, or baby changing dresser and then converted back to a bedroom dresser or buffet. The 4 drawers are embossed in a multilayer pattern and trimmed out beautifully with a black and ivory urns and a floral pattern in the center. It has vintage painted pulls. The insides of the drawers are also painted inside and out by hand in a cottage white paint as safe for babies as possible and sealed. The drawers are waxed for easy gliding. The top is done in an embossed flowing floral pattern and trimmed out in an 8 layer edging and the sides are done in a striped corduroy pattern. It has a wonderful mirror that is original to the piece. This is an antique bowfront oak dresser with mirror that although old. Was in great structural shape. Just needed some refreshing. I painted it with Southern Belle Decorative Paints and waxed it with Fiddes Wax. Southern Belle Decorative Paint is for sale on Ebay, Amazon and Etsy. The colors I used were Burlap Feed Sack for the entire piece and I dry brushed the detail pieces with Chrissie's Canning Jar and Talladega Tar. I then waxed in clear wax and Jacobean for the natural top. I painted the original hardware with the Chrissie's Canning Jar and Talledega Tar also. The piece is 42 inches wide. 30s Vintage Rustic Folk Art Vanity Heart Mirror Dutch Girl Hand Carved/Painted
Truly Charming! Unique. Vintage rustic folk art heart-shaped tilted table top beveled mirror. in a hand-painted oak frame featuring two girls at the bottom of the frame. Circa 1930s- 1940s. The girls are wearing red. Blue/green& yellow folk country costumes. The oak is painted a golden-yellow color with blue/green trim. Two lovely brass rosettes hold the mirror to its frame. Mirror has some loss of its silver backing around the rim and has some lightly faded spots. Numbers engraved on the bottom read: 3182 5680. The mirror measures 14" tall and 15" wide. Vintage Barbola Style Dresser Easel Mirror Moulded & Painted Resin Beveled Glass
Up for auction is a vintage Barbola Style dresser mirror with a plastic paste(not gesso) crest of flowers and ribbon surrounding a beveled glass mirror and mounted on a wooden easel back frame. These mirrors were made in the 1920's and 1930's by making a plastic paste of resin and sawdust and moulding and painting the flowers and ribbon trim. The mirror is 10 1/2" tall and it is 8 1/2" across. It has two wooden bun feet in the front. It is not marked. The condition is excellent with no chips or cracks. This solid wood dresser with swing mirror and 3 draws is artistically hand painted with flowers and figures. In one of the pictures you will note the faded name of"Debbie" painted in the lower left corner of the top. There are contents pertaining to Debbie and 3 surprise gifts and note from Kris Kringle. One of the notes was made on a piece of old Christmas wrap from Gina. Debbie must have been special as well as the giver of the surprises she recieved. We've left the contents within including a pair of little red doll shoes. The dresser measures 23 1/2" wide. 8" deep and 20" tall including the swing mirror. The mirror is attached with two screws, it's easy on, easy off. The only other name on the chest is located on the back of the mirror. It's in excellent vintage condition. The mirror is a flat mirror. Not beveled. It has a strong wire for easy hanging. I personally painted it a glossy black, giving it an updated look.
