This is an antique French Art Deco vanity from the 1920's. It is made of finely crafted Walnut with dovetail and tongue& groove construction. The adjustable swiveling mirror is supported by two fluted columns and flanked by two curvaceous cabinets. There is a shelf directly beneath the mirror. On the left is a bank of three drawers. On the right a single door cabinet with a floral design subtly carved into one corner. The right side is topped with an unusual marble specimen with a mottled"Plum Pudding" veining pattern. The marble is custom cut to follow the curving contour of the cabinet top. Gorgeous Antique French Baroque style Vanity or Dressing Table with Mirror This is the most charming vanity I have ever seen. As you can see from the pictures. There is so much ornamentation swags and bows. It is a kidney shape. Note the adorable little cane footrest underneath the opening. This was so that the lady didn't have to put her little feet on the cold floor! The three part mirror is adjustable, in that the sides move. Distressed painted french grey with cream carved decoration of ancanthus leaves, rosettes, bows, roses, just exquisite.ancanthus leaves etc. The pictures show the french grey color a bit lighter than it really is. I have the chair that came with the set(bed frame, armoire, bed crown, and vanity) but it is for sale separately.
