Antique small Captain's or Davenport desk. Mom and Dad collected antiques for decades. Starting in the 1950's, this is from their estate. Dad often would provide cards on some of their antiques. The following is his writeup: Captain's desk. 32" high by 21" wide by 20" deep. Height to writing surface is 27" at front, 29" at back, has 18" wide by 5 1/4" deep raised compartment with hinged lid. Has four drawers, each with two pulls that open on the RH side, false fronts and pulls on LH side, each drawer 11" wide by 4 1/4" high by 16" deep. Has two inside drawers under writing surface. All surfaces except turnings have pecan burled veneer, narrow inlay on top and front, porcelain casters" This desk is in very good to excellent condition for it's age-see pictures. And now for sale a beautiful Haines Brothers Upright Piano. It is in Excellent Condition with a wonderful sound when properly tuned which it is in need of now. It has a serial#25223 which I was told by the previous owner is 1885. The records I could find confirm that it pre-dates 1900. Up for sale is this very pretty Samick Ultramatic. I don't know what model Ultramatic it is. The stunnng features of this guitar are the burled woodgrain and the fretboard inl ay. I'm using the word"burled" for lack of a better description. I would guess that since the price is so inexpensive that the woodgrain is actually a"photo finish" and the inlay is probably a sticker. If the inlay IS a sticker. It's one of the best I've ever seen! There are no edges and the fretboard is smooth as silk with lo ts of life in the frets. Notice how the woodgrain effect wraps around the body and the neck- pretty neat. And it even has binding around the body and fretboard! I'll ship it to you i n a nice so ft gig bag. Photo finish" refers to a digital picture of a pretty wood grain which is then tinted, applied, and sealed onto the guitar body(and neck in this case) It takes a ho-hum guitar body and turns it into a quite stunning work of art at a very cheap price. Another luthier trick is to apply a very thin wood veneer(which is flamed, quited, or burled) to the body and seal it in also. I'm not an expert on wood, but this looks like a photo, not a veneer. The neck has so much inlay on it that it must be a decal, or the price of the guitar would be way more. Also, I don't think they would"photo finish" the body and then put real inlay on the neck. I have up for sale a wonderful vintage- unsure of the exact age- burled wood snuff box or very small trinket box. It measures approx 3-1/8" long. Stands 1-3/8" tall and is 2" deep. The top of this hutch is curved and has a beveled edge and pressed wood design on the inside top edge. The front corners have been cut on angel and tiger striped veneer applied for added detail. There are 2 bevel cut leaded glass doors on top. The glass is in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks or breaks. This is a magnificent piece of furniture. There is a strip of burled wood down the center of the upper and lower pieces and the front of the lower doors have burled wood on them as well as a nicely designed inlaid tiger wood strip. This piece has great patina. The veneer has bubbled and chipped in a couple of spots but its hardly noticeable. The over all condition of this piece is excellent for its age. It is a very old antique and will not be perfect. I do not know the exact date it was made or who the maker is. The base measures 39 inches tall, 53 inches side to side and 23 inches front to back. It weighs 75 pounds. The top measures 34 ½ inches tall, 49 1/8 inches side to side and 17 1/8 inches front to back. It weighs 97 pounds. Authentic signed Mid Century Jere style Sculpture,Intricate Burled Wood base
Hello! Today you are bidding on a signed mid century Jere type Sculpture created on an amazing Burl wood piece like I've never seen. I have Burl bowls and burls alone and pieces carved from Burl and this piece stands alone. The Burled wood base is a whopping 14" long and the width which varies(see photo 10) ranges from 3" to 6-3/4" I tried to show the differences in color and design with as many photos as possible. The butterflies are 3 sizes and what I couldn't show well is that they can be easily turned and when you turn one or all of them the sculpture is completely different with every movement. I have always loved the organic pieces that look so beautiful among the form and function pieces of the era. They always look amazing here and there with the clean lines I love so much. There is no finish on the wood so the light and dark and stripes and shadows are just as nature made her. The signature is on the back of the small dark butterfly. James Perret Locle all original 14K Gold pocket watch in burled wood case
This wonderful watch was owned by either my grandfather or one of his brothers. It has been kept in a safe deposit box for at least 50 years. The exterior closures are stamped K14 and also V.B. The jeweler assures me that the fob is also 14k gold with a small seed pearl adjuster for the chain. I have a video of the watch running but not sure how to make it a part of the listing. This box would be equally well suited on the desk to hold pens, letter openers and stamps. It is made from a beautiful piece of burled wood stained a dark cherry. I am not sure if this is a burled walnut, curly maple or just what type of wood. For those that don't know. Burled wood comes from the stump of the tree where the grain becomes gnarled and multi- directional. This makes it very difficult to work with. But the finished pieces are extraordinary. Minor wear, nicks, marks and scratches over all surfaces. Feet on all pieces have nicks or chips, scratches and marks. A few of the applied filigree pieces are cracked, but firmly in place. This is one gorgeous piece of wood. It is burled walnut and is from the early 1800s. It is a lap desk or maybe used as a bed tray. It is 32" long and 14" tall. It is in really nice condition. Antique ORNATE Carved BURLED Wood VICTORIAN PEDIMENT Secretary Door Hall Tree
Up for auction is this fabulous antique Victorian carved wood arched pediment being offered"as is as found" It is in wonderful condition, though some of the burled veneer is lifting and there is one spot on the top edge of the moulding where it meets the center piece that is chipped(as seen in photo 7) It is very ornately carved with exquisite details. The 2 drop turned finials on either side of the center medallion are intact. Not sure of the wood, it is thick and solid somewhat speckled with darker spots. Exhibits superb craftsmanship. Beautifully curved multi-layer moulding. The underneath has one dowel on the bottom and 2 holes on the other side where it sat on the original piece of furniture which is long gone. This would be wonderful on a secretary, hall tree or even above a doorway. There are different layers giving it greath ... moredepth and interest. Measures along the bottom edge underneath 33 3/8 inches long, 1 inch thick and with the moulding at the sides about 2 1/2 inches thick; it is 16 1/4 inches in total height, the first lower arch is 2 5/8 inches thick, the total depth it would stick out if against a wall would be 5 5/8 inches. Antique Solid Burled Wood Sextant Case
This sextant case appears to me to be a very old case made of solid wood. Possibly being Rosewood, some of it being burled, solid brass handle, lock hasp, corner reinforcements, and the brass diamond shaped inlay on top. I don't know the exact age of it, it looks antique to me, but you have to be the judge of that. The velvet on the inside appears to be very old. The curves on the box are all steam bent, and there is nothing but solid wood. The lid on the front of the case has shrunk a little over time, and there is a little lip as seen in the picture but everything works just fine. I can't find any makers marks, names or anything on it. What a great piece to display your prized sextant in. This is being sold in as-in condition with all sales final. No returns or refunds.

This piano has a nice tone and the keys are all intact and play just fine except for the very lower B flat/A# it sticks sometimes. The keys do show some wear, please see pictures, however none are broken or chipped. There is some chipping of the wood veneer towards the bottom of the barley twist legs on each side and there are minor scratches throughout, other than that, there are no condition issues. It is now covered and carefully stored in my garage because I no longer have room for it. I have inherited a grand ... morepiano piano and the upright just has to go. If I had the room for it, I would keep it- it really is a beautiful piano and it has a really nice sound quality to it- some vintage upright's sound like"tin" this one does not- has a nice rich sound. I am not a piano expert, but it seems to me this piano is in good shape and great playing condition. I do have a bench for the piano however the finish is nicked and chipped and I can tell you it has seen better days! Local pick up only. I can provide you with a contact number for a piano mover I have used here in my area locally. However. If you are out of the area you can arrange to have your piano mover/shipper pick it up and deliver it to your desired destination. Vintage Asian Burled Wood Dining Room Set w/ 10 Chairs and Buffet by Century
I have a used unique vintage Asian style dining room set with ten chairs and buffet. The set comes with two18" removable leafs. With custom felt backed padded protection pads(paid $1,200) for the entire table. There is a set of king and queen(armed w/ ebony finish) chairs, four side(unarmed w/ ebony finish) chairs, and four side(unarmed w/ casters) fabric chairs. We had the four fabric chairs custom made to match, the existing seats recovered at the same material, and the entire set professionally polished and cleaned in 2005. The table is 46" wide, 75" long(without leafs) and 111" long(w/ leafs) The chairs are 40" tall, 19" wide, and the seats are 19" high w/ a depth of 17" There is also a matching buffet table. This is from a smoke and pet free environment. ANTIQUE BURLED WOOD RARE LIBATION CUP RARE FORM 19TH CENTURY OR EARLIER HANDDONE

Here is a very rare find. i own it for many years, purchased from a couple who bought out old houses for great stuff. this is a wonderful burled wood libation cup, form is just like the Rhino libation cups but of a burled wood. wonderfully made and measures 6.5 inches long and 4.5 inches wide and 2 3/4 inches high at highest point. see condition report, there is a small crack in the base of the cup if you hold up to the light you can see light through it. like i said it is shaped like the chinese rhino cups. it is old i think from the early 19th century, couuld be older. the lady I got it from thought it was American Indian,but based on the flat bottom and libation cup shape I would not think so, but burl wood is grown all over the world and has been carved in CHina for other uses. anyway, tha t is all I know about it. Rare Burled Wood Howard Miller Chime Wall/Table Clock
Up for bid is a rare burled wood Howard Miller Chime Wall/Table Clock. The case is finished in burled wood with oak accents and is in great condition. It comes with an brass pendulum bob and has a solid hinge and clasp mechanism. The front door opens fully for access to the pendulum. And the back door opens fully for access to the mechanism as seen in the photos above. The glass is not loose or cracked. There is bamboo molding around the front of the clock. It has ornate corners on the dial and burled veneer finish throughout the outside. Overall it is a nice. Solid clock. The chime chimes very nice and subtle in a single gong style once every half hour and once for each hour in succession as it advances through the day. The clock has been cleaned, oiled, and checked in my shop. It measures 25 1/2" from the lowest to the highest point, ... more13" inches wide at it's widest point and 6" deep.
