Cabriole legs, carved feet and beautifully ... morecarved across the front of the seat as well as the backrest with a shell and flower motif as shown. These two chairs are in very nice condition for their age as represented with multiple pictures. The chairs are both tight and sturdy with strong, tight rush bottom seats that were probably replaced in the latter 20th century. The chairs each stand 38 inches tall to the top of the back and measure 21 1/2 inches wide by 22 inches front to back. The seats are 15 inches in height and are 20 1/2 inches wide by 18 1/2 inches, front to back. The back rest and across front of the seats on the chairs are beautifully carved and appear to have hand turned stretchers. These chairs appear to be made of walnut, with rush bottom seats. There is a delightful Louis VX influence to the design of this wonderful pair of antique French country chairs and are a terrific buy, ready for use in your home or place of business. The style is here. The colours are right. The marble-top is in perfect condition. Check the sides, they are as skillfully done as the front. The bronze is very detailed. There are no stain-marks or cracks in the marble. It is quite miniature, and could be a phenomenal centre-piece for any room whether it is an apartment, small flat, or a highlight in somebody's mansion. A very nice antique. Circa 1920s- 1930's, carved walnut front and legs Louis XVI style petite chest of drawers. The sides are walnut stained maple, the secondary woods maple. All drawers contain their locks, brass escutcheons, and ring pulls. The left side panel has a few shrinkage cracks. Original finish. It measures 39-2/2" tall by 31" wide by 16" deep. The marble top has been broken into four pieces and neatly glued back.

The top I restored with a new walnut veneer over the original veneer which needed restored.The upper drawer carvings on the left and right corners have a few small pieces of carving missing.The rounded/curved corner posts are a great detail especially with their spectacular burled inlays and of course the intricate floral marquetry(just look closely at the close up photo. It is amazing work, with very tiny inlays and using many different wood species) The amazing corner post marquetry is mirror imaged on the opposing corner posts. The upper drawers with the book matched burl inlays are stunning.The delicate arched trim which outlines the upper drawers is a fine piece of craftsmanship. Absolutely gorgeous piece. Federal Dresser- no mirror. Hand-painted rustic french blue with homemade hand-mixed plaster paint. Lightly distressed and glazed to give it that extra pop of faux texture. All original brass hardware intact. Has locks on drawers, but no key. Measures 20 3/4 inches deep(at widest part- since top bows out) 41 7/16 inches wide, and 34 3/8 inches tall. Does have small slight damage(but I think it gives the piece that extra worn rustic character) on the left bottom and the back has a crack. I have included pictures for reference.

Fresh from local Estate we a pleasure to offer you this beautiful high quality first half of 20th century inlaid and bronze mounted marble top French Commode. The inlay is pleasant. Featuring a bow ties and garland that breaks over 2 large drawers, bows placed behind the handles(hardware) Note the quality of the bronze, feet capped with terrific pedestal like mounts. The marble is dark gray, with"clouds" of lighter veining. Please see the photos of the back, and more importantly of the drawers and locks, so you can see the quality of the secondary wood and dovetailing. Drawers slide in and out like skates, no warping or any such issues. The locks are unusually placed pointing down, only on top two drawers, hence when the drawer is pulled out, the top of the front is all finished and you can't see the locks. Antique French Provincial solid wood high boy. Hand painted with Annie Sloan chalk paint and lovingly glazed with Martha Stewart metallic paint. Original pulls.Color may not be true depending on your screen settings. So I will describe it. Underneath is a very subdued purple and it is then washed with a neutral lightest tan or dingy white. The piece was then washed with a silver metallic gray. The color looks more to me as a silvery gray with the slightest bit of a purple undertone. Because of the scalloped edges, all measurements are taken at the broadest area- 49 inches tall, 36.5 inches wide, and 19.5 inches deep.

PAIR Antique Satinwood Bronze Mounted Marble Top FRENCH COMMODE Chests Dresser
Fresh from NYC we have a pleasure to offer you this beautiful high quality first half of 20th century PAIR of bronze mounted Satinwood marble top French Commodes. The best way to describe this pair would be the"mirror" siblings. Same exact shape, size and motif, only reversed wood colors(dark to light, light to dark) and different color marble. The inlay is pleasant. Featuring a bow ties and garland that breaks over 2 large drawers, bows placed behind the handles(hardware) Note the quality of the bronze, feet capped with terrific pedestal like mounts. The marbles are different, one is dark gray, with"clouds" of lighter veining, and other red with white veining. Please see the photos of the back, and more importantly of the drawers and locks, so you can see the quality of the secondary wood and dovetailing. Drawers slide ... morein and out like skates, no warping or any such issues. The locks are unusually placed pointing down, only on top two drawers, hence when the drawer is pulled out, the top of the front is all finished and you can't see the locks. Very cool feature. Both pieces were finished over in glossy French polish, no longer than 4-5 years ago, so the wood and colors are healthy and vivid. Condition good, minor use wear.
