VINTAGE JAPANESE KYODAI TANSU/VANITY CHEST/MIRROR STAND/DRESSER,ANTIQUE,ART DECO
This lovely vintage Art Deco Japanese kyodai. Or mirror stand& vanity dating from the early Showa period between1930 and the early 50's boasts an adjustable 3 way mirror that creates multiple reflections, made in a beautiful extra thick quality glass with beveled borders that still has a very clear reflection for its age. The center below the mirror is adorned with a textured glass surface reflecting a pale blue colour. Its Art deco lines, adorned with a lovely stripy grain veneer in a golden shade are accented by silver tone openwork handles. Small drawers offer space for accessories or make-up and it can easily fit on a night stand, chest or work top making it an very useable and versatile piece. It is in excellent overall condition for its age with no major damage. There are some slight bubbles in the veneer in a couple of places. ... moreAnd one small chip has been filled on the middle drawer. The attachment between the mirror and the stand is slightly wobbly on the left hand side, but stable. The back of the central mirror has had some small repairs(fills, nails) and has a couple of chips, but this part is normally hidden from view. DIMENSIONS: The width with the mirrors open is 55.2 cm. Vintage Art Deco Dresser Painted in Annie Sloan Beautiful vintage welsh dresser made from oak and lovingly hand painted in Annie Sloan- French Linen. A fabulous solid piece with some wonderful detailing. It has been distressed in areas of natural wear as we think t his adds an extra dimension to the piece and highlights the pieces unique features. It has then been finished with natural wax to increase durability. A wonderful piece with all the attributed you'd expect. The bottom is made up of two cupboards each with a single door opening. The right cupboard also has a single shelf. The dresser top ha s been finished in a tongue and groove style and has two generous shelves each with a rebated trough making them ideal for displaying plates. There is an unusual sweet feature in that there is a small decorative bracket in the centre under ... moreeach of the shelves. The very top of the dresser has an extra deep canopy with a waved edge and subtle carved detailing. The waved edge of the canopy is continued on the side pillars. T he edge of the work top has a smooth beveled edge and there is a vertical rebated stripe detail in the central panel between the doors. The doors themselves have been decorated with a deep frame with quarter circles. Dots and rebated stripe designs. The piece sits on chunky square legs with beveled edges and a sturdy cross bar in the centre between the legs. The look is completed with the original decorative Art Deco swing handles and back plates. Would sit equally comfortably in a lounge. Dinning room or kitchen- so versatile! pretty vintage vanity tray. 8x11. no chips. Cracks, or loss of silvering on the mirror. brass corners connect the glass rods that give this the sleek lines of an art deco piece. this is a timeless design that will go with any décor. Nice vintage 1930s 1940s art deco style waterfall vanity/dresser with round mirror. It appears to have been fairly recently refinished except for the mirror. The knobs and handles have been painted. The veneer appears to have been replaced. It has dovetail joinings of the drawers. It is in fair condition-even though it has been refinished. It has some areas that need work. The veneer has some spots where it is not smooth and somewhat uneven and there are some depressions in it. There is a small gap between the middle dresser top and where the mirror attaches. The mirror has places around the edges where the silver is rubbing off. It has other various nicks, dents, and scratches consistent with its age. I always liked the beautiful wood grain that popped after refinishing it. It's time to downsize and have to let it go. The antique walnut dresser has 4 drawers with the top being the smallest. The top drawer has a beautiful carved applique on it. Take notice of the column style on the other bottom drawers. Very ornate design. All drawers have brass knobs and pulls. And all have the dove tail construction, and drawers open and close easily. It's in good. Sturdy shape for its' age, with minimal scratches around, nothing serious though. Vintage Art Deco Waterfall Makeup Vanity
This beautiful makeup vanity is a perfect example of the Art Deco Waterfall style. It was purchased as part of a wedding suite by the bride's parents in the late 1930's and was in the master bedroom of the couple in their South Jersey farm house for over 75 years. It is in excellent condition as it was lovingly cared for by the bride until her recent death. The drawer pull and knobs are original and are made with Bakelite- the new material of the era. There are 6 good size drawers- all gliding as if brand new. There are no wood distress problems. Notice in the pictures the large. Oversized, 2-tone mirror. The mirror is entirely encased in wood(many from this era are not) The addition of the amber gold mirror along the edges makes it a truly stunning piece. Vintage Art Deco Tri-fold Mirror Mirror-clad Vanity Dresser Table
You are bidding on an old deco style mirror clad dresser or vanity table with a tri-fold mirror. The legs are painted or stained wood and the top and sides are mirrors including a tri-fold mirror. There are two drawers as well. Made of maple. The piece could use some touching up with black paint or stain around the mirrors and here and there on the legs. There are some clouding and other spots(the black shadows where the silvering has worn out on the back of the mirrors) on the mirrors but the glass is intact and looks interesting. You can see all this in the photos(sorry for all the reflections but it is hard to take a picture with all these mirrors! The tri-fold top can be taken off with a couple of screws.
