Has Queen Anne legs, nicely reproduced brass pulls with pierced back plates, three removable top finials, mahogany veneered drawer fronts with all solid mahogany case and inner drawers also. It is in a very deep mahogany stain with the classic top and has the brass medallion in the top drawer, Johnson Furniture Co. Grand Rapids, Michigan. It is 74 inches high, 19 inches deep, 34 inches wide and is in very good condition with no breaks or repairs and only a satin effect in the finish due to the age and changes in temperature in which I find attractive to the piece. C. late 19th to early 20th century Item# 1406HAJ17P Crafted with care and respect for the original form of a century prior. This highly attractive reproduction American Chippendale Highboy emulates closely after the Philadelphia work centers. Probably crafted during the last years of the 19th century, the entire case is crafted by hand with thick solid walnut planks for primary surfaces. All secondary woods are heavy solid planks of oak, poplar and chestnut. The drawers are hand dovetailed front and back, the bottoms chamfered along the edges and set in grooves in the drawer frame. The brilliant brass batwing hardware is original to the case. The broken-arch ... morepediment boasts robust carved rosettes set beneath a deep molding flanked by flame carved finials. Of the eleven drawers lining the facade, two are embellished with recessed shell carvings, the knees and apron likewise showcasing detailed shell forms. The entire case rests over cabriole legs terminating in trifid feet. This is an absolutely gorgeous reproduction for anyone passionate about the American Chippendale form. Remaining in an exceptional state of preservation. This is a piece that was built to last many lifetimes. Measurements: 82 1/2" total height(top is 51 1/2" high. Vintage 1940's Chippendale Style Mahogany Painted Black Mirror
Beautiful vintage mahogany mirror. It's from the 1940's to the best of my knowledge. I acquired this mirror at an antique store 20 years ago. It measures 34" tall at its highest point and 22" wide. It's in excellent vintage condition. The mirror is a flat mirror. Not beveled. It has a strong wire for easy hanging. I personally painted it a glossy black, giving it an updated look. It could be stripped back to its mahogany if you choose. Available for local pick up, but if you want to arrange shipping on your own, I will consider. Thank you for looking.
