Antique French Iron Washstand
This turn of the century iron washstand is all ready t obe painted and decorated and installed in your bathroom or powder room. I have included two pictures of a very similar washstand that we have to give an indication of what can be done to this item. This has been in storage for a few years. As you can see there is no rust, it was primed and readied for use but nothing has been done to it since. Our green sample has a custom made brass bowl, but ready made top or undermount bowls can be purchased. Nice RARE 1800s YARN SWIFT which works wonderfully and all original. It measures 18" in length. Only one string piece replaced by a piece of thread at one of the joints. The wood is great. Original Iron clasp at the end for attaching. The wooden knob screws into the center pole to adjust the size of the swift. 5 inch diameter nominal(4.75 inch actual) cast wheels. These have been sand blasted and primed with a flat black Eastwood. There is a hairline fracture on one of the spokes. Does not show up on a photo. Does not appear to affect strength of function. A6 is stamped on each wheel.

This is the rarest of the rare types of baby items I have found over the years. 100% authentic Antique baby"cart" as I can only imagine the small cord that used to go across the front to hold the baby in place! Wondering how many injuries took place from carting a baby around with this type of"contracption" lol This came from a local. High end antique collector that fell in love with items from the 1800's and this was one of her prize poscessions. Would be perfect to display an antique baby doll in! Inside seat measures 9 inches across and 8 inches deep. Has a layer of black. Worn leather lined. Wicker measures about 13 inches across from side to side top and about 11 inches deep. 13 inches tall from the floor to the center back of the wicker top. Wheels are about 8 inches round with the little back wheels to help ... moreprevent tipping are 1.5 inches round Pull handle extends about 22 inches long when it is placed to be straight. Fold back into the seat at about 16 inches for the baby to hold. I cannot find any types of"maker markings" No chips with some edge rubbings here and there. Wicker shows some pull with a few strips popped out a bit. Little pillow seat included. Not sure if it is an original but it sure matches the style with little tastles along the bottom in an off white, cream color showing a few age spots. This darling items deserves a loving home! Unique MAGAZINE RACK Art Deco Cherry Wood, Steel, Iron, and Copper CANTERBURY
This super fine Canterbury has great style and exceptionally detailed workmanship. The piece is 28.5" tall. 16.75" wide, and 11.5" deep. I am not an expert on furniture so I will describe what I see and try not to label. I don't know who made the piece or when, though it it is an antique and I don't know where it was made. The four standing posts and the four other rectangular bars that connect these are made from cherry wood. The castors are iron and really they look medieval. On top of the two front standing posts are beautiful copper finials. The two behind these are missing the finials, there is a close-up where these are missing. Below the finials are wonderful thin copper plaques that have been pressed with clean linear designs, the front two are identical, and the back two are similar, but identical to each other. ... moreThe design on these coppers parallels the design on the back panel with the oval, and the balled ends to the side rods surrounding the oval. All of the remaining rods are metal. Either copper or otherwise, except the back bar on the bottom, and five bars making the bottom'shelf' These I believe are wood and may have been added later. I think they have been painted to appear similar to the rest of the piece, and they have a smooth finish and are not constructed the way the following are. The metal rods are constructed with copper or metal that has been cut into strips and then somehow pinched on the inside to create a seam. The rods are hollow making them light, yet very strong. Now- the exception to those are the five top'shelf' bars and one of the thin bars on the side. I would say these are steel as the rods do not have seams and have spiral grooves like a screw. There are close-ups of everything. There is overall wear and very thick patina on this piece, Two areas worth mentioning are in close-up photos. Antique. Wrought iron magazine stands retains its original green paint and rose decals. There are 18 riveted metal rosettes. The middle divider, which supports the handle, is a heart. Here is a 1930's era ornate cast iron and lime green glass smoke stand. The stand is 28" tall and has a 10" wide footed base. No chips or nicks to the lime green glass. METAL VICTORIAN CHEVAL MIRROR TO GO WITH IRON BED
Up for your consideration is a Victorian cheval mirror that would look wonderful with an iron bed. I have never seen another cheval mirror like this one. I used it for 25 years with my iron bed before I sold the bed back to the family from whom I purchased it. The replacement bed is a federal cherry bed. So the mirror no longer matches. Hate to see it go, but it is time. It is painted yellow over white, with losses to the yellow, which gives a wonderful shabby look. The piece stands 66 inches tall and 25 inches wide. I believe the mirror is original, but can’t say for certain. I prefer local pickup, but will cooperate with buyer’s shipper.
