Featuring a bow ties and garland that breaks over 2 large drawers, bows placed behind the handles(hardware) Note the quality of the bronze, feet capped with terrific pedestal like mounts. The marble is dark gray, with"clouds" of lighter veining. Antique French Louis XVI Commode Chest Bombay Bronze Decorated Marble Top
Offered is Antique French Louis XVI Commode Chest that has a Bombay Shape made of Beautiful Inlaid Fruitwood with fabulous Bronze and Ormolu decoration. The Chest has beautiful bronze legs and the ormolu decorating the bottom edge is intact across the bottom edge and the sides. The bronze decoration on each side is unique-one lady features a hat-the other has her coiled in a bun. This piece is in the original condition-there are some stress cracks on the sides. The green marble top is inset and there are no cracks or chips to it. It is 48 inches wide across the back and 20 inches deep and 37 1/2 inches tall.
