8500Y.O: GREAT EARLY CHISEL AX DANISH STONE AGE MESOLITHIC FLINT KONGEMOSE CULT
DANISH STONE AGE ARTIFACTS BY PALATINA AUTHENTICITY GUARANTEED Description"Core Chisel" or a very slender" Core Ax" occurs wherever core axes are found. But they are much rarer. Length of this great piece is 126 mms! Wonderful marble like flint with fossil includings! Core chisels play the greatest role in the Younger Maglemose Culture(8900-6400 bc) Kongemose Culture(6400-5400 bc. and the older Erteboelle- Ellerbek Culture(5400-4000 bc. During the Mesolithic period(c.9300-4000 BC) after the end of the ice age. Hunters spread across the extensive area which connected Denmark to England during the Continental period. The forest was relatively light in the beginning with bison, wild horses, elk and aurochs. In time, the forest became more dense and red deer and roe-deer became the commonest game. Settlements were often situated ... morenear the edges of lakes which have since become bogs. In the east of Denmark, the peat in these bogs has preserved a rich variety of weapons and tools, bones from slaughtered animals and the remains of dwellings, including hut floors made of wood and bark. During the Atlantic period, 6400-4000 BC, the sea level rose so much that the northern parts of Denmark were divided into islands, and deep fiords cut into the landscape. A dense forest dominated by limetrees spread across the land. The population was found mostly near the coasts and lived on fish and shellfish, supplemented by hunting and sealing. Food scraps were piled up in kitchen middens which contained huge numbers of oyster shells. Grave finds bear witness to care and respect for the dead. Mesolithic core chisels occur in the same variations as the core axes. They are slender with a narrow edge. May have a bevelled or symmetrical edge. Specially treated edges on chisels are unknown. The distribution is the same as the corresponding axes. But they are much rarer! Provenance is an old collection. More details will follow the artifact. I guarantee absolutely for the authenticity of this chisel from the Hunter Gathere
10.000Y.O:10 DANISH ARTIFACTS STONE AGE EARLY MESOLITHIC FLINT MAGLEMOSE CULTURE
NORTHERN EUROPEAN STONE AGE ARTIFACTS BY PALATINA AUTHENTICITY GUARANTEED Description Located on a hill at the seaside of a Baltic sea bay. These flint artifacts were found in the organogenic sediments of the settlement, close to the water. That is why they have this special dark-black patina. The artifacts belong to the people of the"Maglemose-Culture" The Mesolithic epoch 8900-6400 bc. This was a culture which lived of fishing and hunting and lived near good fishing localities on the mainland. After younger Dryas the climate became warmer. Soon the reindeer disappeared. The people of the wood now aimed at against game such as moose, aurochs, bear, roe deer and red deer. Arrowheads and the so-called microliths, was made from small flakes. To handle the wood, of which there was plenty of in the new forests, the Maglemose Culture ... moreinvented axes made from flint. The Maglemose Culture, which was named after settlements in the Maglemose bog at Mullerup in Western Zealand, developed in the continental phase(pre-boreal and boreal) when the European continent was connected with England. Outside Southern Scandinavia Maglemose settlements are found in the North-western European flatland from Poland to England. Provenance is the collection of the finder! More details will follow the artifacts! I guarantee absolutely for the authenticity of the Gather and Hunter Stone Age artifacts.
