Two sugar bowls and a creamer in an unknown floral pattern by Rockford silverplate. All are being sold as is with dents. Silverplate loss and melted base on one sugar bowl. The first bowl(part of the base has melted) is 4.5 inches high and 3.25 inches across. It has some cracks in the rim. Creamer and second sugar bowl could be used as a pair. Both have dents and visible spots of plate loss. Both are approximately 4 inches high.

The creamer stands61/2" tall. The sugar stands over 8" tall and 7 1/2" wide handle to handle. Very extravagant Victorian design. Most of the silver plating is worn off. The glass insert in the creamer is Tree Of Life pattern. The glass insert in the sugar is a different pattern. Both glass inserts are in good condition. The base of the creamer has a slight dent. Antique New Amsterdam Silver Co. Quadruple Plate Sugar Bowl. 19th Century
Perhaps it's because I favor pewter. But I love the patina on this quadruple plate, a hundred years of not being polished-at least that's how it looks so that it really does have the soft silver grayness of pewter. The details are so beautiful, especially the sort of crude etching around the belly of the piece. 6" wide x 6" tall.

Antique Derby Silver Plate Co. Creamer & Sugar Bowl Rare Set. 19th Century #1144
Hard to find sugar bowl and creamer matched set from The Derby Silver Plate Co. Conneticut which produced silver plated items for a fairly short time before the great depression. The factory still exists and is now owned by a subsidary of the BF Goodrich Co. producing foam rubber products. This set really shows its age with some corrosion inside and some dings and heavy patina. Still a piece of American history with historical value. Wonderful rose design all around. No cracks or breaks. Reads"Derby S.P.Co" 1144 on the bottom of each. Will ship safe. Happy bidding!

Including the company mark, a scale, and USA with the number 701. It measures 3" across the top and the bowl is 3" wide. It's 5" from handle to handle. The Middletown Silver Plate Co. operated in Middletown. CT from its founding in 1864 until it was absorbed into International Silver in 1899. Then they moved to Meriden, the mega-center of electro-plate manufacturing in the world. In the early years(until 1876) they seem to have finished and sold hollow forms made by Reed& Barton.
