This is an antique/vintage wooden dresser. It has 3 large drawers. Each drawer has two wooden knob handles. There is scroll like cut outs on the base and the top is nicely rounded. The feet have wooden buttons covering nail/screw inserts. One of these buttons is missing. The middle drawer sticks a bit when opening and closing. There are normal wear marks. But nothing is jumping out as damage to the dresser. It's currently finished is medium toned stain. It's a solid dresser that has all fixable/repairable issues or can get used as is leveraging the vintage charm. This piece is solid wood through out and is in good condition. Real Vintage Golden OAK Highboy Dresser w/ Wooden Carved FLOWER Knobs Pretty!!
Offered is a vintage highboy dresser featuring carved flower knobs! It has 10 drawers which are all dovetail construction, and two drawers have locks. But when I bought the piece 8 years ago from a private seller in Illinois. They did not have the keys, or any other information about it. It is heavy and sturdy. with no significant scratches. The largest dimensions are 56 inches tall(including both parts) 35 inches wide 20.5 inches deep Manufacturer and specific age unknown. Manufacturer numbers on upper piece is 1234 1/2 and numbers on main piece is 1264. The top piece just sets on top of the main piece making it much easier to move such a heavy dresser. The age I am guessing anywhere between 1900-early 1950s. I re-decorated my master bedroom into a mid-century modern theme and my other rooms do not need a dresser. This belonged to my great- aunt Mary and she originally bought this new from the Loomis and Hart Furniture Company of Chattanooga. Tennessee. She had her only son in the fall of 1905. My mother said she bought this in the early part of 1906( information from family letters) My mother also said my great- aunt was so proud of this dresser and liked that it had the wooden square animal drawer pulls on it and that was the main reason she bought it. I have no idea what the originally color was to this. Maybe white? I tried to figure it out by looking at the top but I know. I wanted to do some research on this dresser so I called a good friend of mine who knows a lot about American furniture and he said very little information is known about the Loomis Furniture Company. I then went to the web and found very little information also. I found out that they were originally in the lumber business and started in 1866. Beautiful Antique Wooden Window Seat - Dresser / Chest of Drawers
I recently acquired this at an estate sale. It appears that it may have been something else and modified into the window seat. But I'm not sure. As shown. The two sides and the flat middle piece comes off. The tops of the two end pieces also slide off. I do not have the keys for the drawers and don't even know if the locks work anyways. It is about 36" high. 52" wide and 21" opening between the two ends. It finally got above freezing and I decided to start working on clearing out my garage. This is for pick up only. Or I would be willing to meet the buyer somewhere or deliver it for $1.00 extra per mile. Please see item condition and pictures for more details.
