Gorgeous early empire style chest of drawers for sale. This is made of I believe white pine and has a beautiful mahogany veneer on the drawer fronts. This piece was acquired from an estate sale in Maine. It has four large lower drawers and two smaller glove box drawers on top. The back splash on the top is original which is quite rare to find because most of them on pieces of this age have been broken or lost. The four large drawers have all been repaired and open and close very well now. The entire piece was refinished showing its true beauty. The knobs on the drawers are also original. Painted Primitive Pine Chest of Drawers with Grapes
We are offering a wonderful old primitive painted chest of drawers. I believe the piece is made of pine. It is grain painted and has painted grapes and gold scrolling over each drawer. There is some wear to the piece as would be normal for a piece of this age. Which is from the 19th century. The paint color is still very bright and beautiful. The drawers slide in and out quite well. It appears to originally have had two glove boxes on the top but they are no longer there. We have done no restoration to this piece other than cleaning. Antique Wooden Machinist's Tool Chest in Great Condition I'm no expert on these chests. But this has to be very old. It had been leather covered when new, because I can see the evidence of the leather in several places. Picture#11 shows the leather still remaining at the top edge of the chest. The dimensions are: Length- 19" Height- 14" Depth- 9" This is the wood box dimension, without adding for the hardware. The lock and latches are Eagle Lock Co. Terryville,CT. There is no key. The handle has to be the original leather covered one and the leather is not in good shape, but it certainly fits with the age of the chest. All of the latches, hinges and lock are complete and work fine, except for the missing key. For those of you who know more about this. I'm sure you can identify the brand from the drawer knobs and ... morediamond shaped back plates on them. I'm sure it has been sanded and finished, probably at the time the leather was removed. Up for auction is a pine chest of drawers. This is a primitive. Made before 1800. The drawers are all hand planed and hand dove tailed. The top is hand dovetailed, as well. It is in beautiful condition. The pulls have been replaced. This chest is 49 inches high and 40.5 inches across and 20.75 inches deep. It weighs about 100 pounds. Every side, including the top is one board. There is a splotch of paint on the back near one of the back legs about 6" by 4" The drawers are graduated. Old Antique Odd Narrow Chest of 5 Drawers, Beaded Pine, Distressed Primitive
Here's an interesting old or antique piece of furniture we received recently with some estate items. This one is a bench made or homemade piece we're guessing is from the 1890's to 1920's. This is a very narrow 5 drawer chest of drawers. It is aged and distressed in appearance and in more recent years has been used to store stuff in a homeowner's workshop. It has a faded green color with a marked and paint spotted top as shown. Whoever made this had some skill with wood and the joints of the drawers and the tongue and groove joints on the boards on the back. And how the drawer bottoms were added show this knowledge being used when this was made. The sides are beaded pine panels. The wood knobs on the front are all different colors and note that at the bottom there were once two knobs or a handle used where there are two ... moredrill holes and one knob looks off center in it's hole. For those who enjoy the look of antique, aged and distressed furniture this may be appealing. To those who look for furniture to refinish, paint cottage white, or otherwise recycle this one should look good when completed also. So perhaps some good decor possibilities with a practical use value as well. This piece seems to be structurally sound with some nice trim detailing though still simple or primitive in appearance. Being narrow it may have some good potential for use in hard to decorate areas of the home. This tall chest of drawers is about 18 inches wide, 21.25 deep, and 40.25 inches tall. That's about it. This looks as if it would have fit well in a castle- but seriously is a very large and unusual piece. Circa around 1840, pre-civil war, is made of pine with a dark reddish-colored stain. Measures 58.5 inches wide, 25 inches deep and 64.5 inches tall. Has huge drawers for lots of great storage, each drawer is about 10 inches tall. Looks to be all hand carved, dove tailed, awesome pulls. Not sure if hardware is original but the hardware is some seriously nice hardware. Please see photos for description. Antique Pine Doll Dresser with mirror chest of drawers
This is an old pine dresser with a mirror. I am not sure of the age but take a guess it was made about 1900 based on the construction and condition. The color is an early american shade. With a semi gloss finish. It has no damage, broken parts or appreciable dents or scratches. Condition is very good! The mirror was out of the frame when I took the picture, but is back in again as it should be, just need to re-attach with the 2 mounting screws. The size of the bureau alone is 16 wide X 12.5 tall X 7.5 deep. The mirror atop is another 12.5 tall. So the overall height is 25 INCHES. I am really not sure what the original intended use was. But it seems like a female child's use as a bedroom item for jewelry and such. It seems too large for a doll house item. The pictures tell the story as well as I can. Offered for sale is an Ethan Allen Country Craftsman Pine Three Drawer Apothecary Chest. This darling chest features three drawers with cute knobs and is item#19-9304 in the#219 Medium Brown Finish. The chest can be found on page#231 of the 1990 Ethan Allen Treasury of American Home Interiors. The Treasury describes their now discontinued collection: Country Craftsman is expressed in solid pine with traditional features and characteristic details. The finish glows with a rich patina achieved by careful distressing. Antique glazing and hand padding to accent the natural beauty and grain of the wood. The look is enhanced by subtle softening of edges, graceful turnings, pegged joinery, wooden knobs and latches and wrought iron"H" hinges. Center-guided drawers are hand-fitted and have smoothly sanded interiors, sealed to protect delicate ... morefabrics. Furniture styles created by the Shakers were the inspiration for Ethan Allen's Country Craftsman. This apothecary chest was manufactured in 1986 and measures 24 1/2" wide x 16" deep x 23" high. The cabinet is factory distressed and very sturdy but it does have additional scratches and dings. Mostly on the legs and top(see pics#8, 9, 10) Pine is a very soft wood and is easily marked. The drawers are all clean and the wood knobs are in great shape. The Ethan Allen name is embossed in the top drawer and the item number and date are stamped on the bottom of the chest. Antique New Hampshire Chippendale Chest of 5 Drawers c. 1800 Pine
Fantastic antique New Hampshire Chippendale chest of drawers. Constructed from pine. This piece has been stained a beautiful deep reddish brown tone. The chest has five graduated doors, each with sturdy dovetail construction and brass willow mount pulls and escutcheons. The chest has a classic overhanging molded top, which is balance my simple bracketed feet at the piece's base. This chest probably dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century. Overall. The chest is in fair to good antique condition, but does have some wear and dings commensurate with age and use. One of the escutcheons also has a break near the top, as you can see from the pictures below. Otherwise no significant damage or visible repairs. This chest stands 41" tall and measures 38 3/4" wide and 19 1/2" deep. Antique 19th Century Pine Campaign Chest of Drawers Dresser Military
Outstanding antique campaign chest of drawers constructed from pine and stained a deep. Slightly reddish brown. This piece, designed for easy transport during a military campaign, looks like it comes apart in two pieces. The chest has four graduated drawers, each with brass bail handle pulls and key surrounds. The faces of the drawers have been attached with fine dovetail joinery. The entire chest rests on bracket feet that are both solid and decorative. The wood has a wonderful aged patina and the finish has minor wear and some alligatoring, showing off the piece's age. This chest most likely dates from the 1800's. The chest is in good antique condition with age-appropriate wear. There are some breaks to the framing of the drawer faces.
