The mirror glass is clear. It has minor scuffs from us moving and age. The bed rails have marks on the finish and have a split on one. The set has castors on each piece. A few of the wooden wheels are gone. The bed is a full/ double. The metal hooks(shown pictured in the drawer) are to hold the mattress. All the drawers have dove tails. All drawers move freely. The tall dresser has 3 drawers. The top drawer is decorative. I believe all the hardware is original. It is matching and in great condition. Purchased through an estate sale in old Charleston, SC and in lovely condition for a late 19th century piece with three wonderful beveled mirrors, lovely burl walnut on the front of the drawers, six small drawers and two large drawers for lots of organized storage and a nice top surface. The finish is in good condition, commensurate with it's age with only the minor nicks and dents one would expect with respectful use over time. The three beautiful beveled mirrors are clear and in very good condition, free of cracks, chips or pitting. In my close up I show how easily these mirrors on the side remove for easy and safe transport then are simply hooked back in place. Antique 1916 Mahogany Dresser / Dressing Table / Vanity with Mirror
THIS ITEM IS FOR LOCAL PICKUP IN IRWIN. PA 15642 ONLY. NO SHIPPING. Antique vanity/ dresser/ dressing table with mirror. The finish is a dark brown. As shown in the pictures. The facing is missing in a couple places. The mirror has two side mirrors that fold in and out. It has 5 drawers; each drawer has a lock mechanism that looks like it accepts the old style skeleton keys, but I don't have a key for it. The size is about 20 inches deep, 44 inches wide, and 59 inches high. Although I can't tell what they mean, there are several markings on it. Stamped into the wood on the back are the numbers 4474 and 57. 4474 seems like it was important to the manufacturer, because it is in 3 separate places. The mirror is very delicately attached to the dresser. I took the wooden back panel off the mirror to see how it was attached and figure out ... morehow to make it more sturdy, and discovered that the back of the mirror is stenciled with the date June 13, 1916 and an"N" and a"P" which may be the mirror manufacturer's logo. On the inside of the wooden back panel are the words"4474 Mahogany" hand written in cursive pencil. The number"48-88" is stenciled inside the back panel also. 4474 Mahogany Toilet" is also hand written in pencil inside one of the left hand drawers, along with what looks to be the"48-88" again. I looked online but couldn't find information on what these numbers mean or where the vanity came from(or how much it's really worth) I also don't know if"Mahogany" is meant to be the color of the finish, or the type of wood it's made of. The mirror doesn't come off for transportation. It is attached only with 4 screws through the wood mirror frame into the desk part. Which is why the center mirror rocks back and forth a little when the vanity is moved. It could be braced more securely but I don't want to put more screws into it, the new owner can do that. The style was rustic. Which fit the character of the Spanish Revival Architecture and Rancho style homes. The Monterey line was initiated by an interior decorator, who saw a piece in a movie set and believed that there was a need for a furniture line that accompanied the Spanish or Mission Style homes being built in the area. Frank and George Mason made the initial design sketches. In late 1929 they started the Monterey furniture line. Twenty four designs were part of the initial run. And this expanded to about 120 different pieces within four years. There were at least three different bedroom sets. Six dining room sets, sixteen different upholstery pieces, sixteen end tables, occasional and coffee tables. And four different desks and secretaries. The lumber was chiefly alder from Oregon that was run through multiple drum sanders to ease the edges and provide an antique or rustic look. The pieces were glued and laminated with a hot glue. And then finished or upholstered. The finishes were all oil stained or base-stained with asphaltum and antiqued by paraffin and rotten stone. A piece that is from the original Haverty Furniture Company that we now know as just Haverty's. I believe this dates to around the 20's going by the Logo design. This may have originally been a small buffet or dining room side table as the top drawer had dividers at one time. There also appears to have been another layer of veneer on the top but there still is a nice mahogany top. I think the front is quarter sawn also giving it that striped look. We think may be poplar, but uncertain. This vanity we believe is 1940's. It is an older piece with a really cool retro look! It has some normal knicks and wear that can be expected, It adds character to the vanity. But overall, the finish is in really good condition. It is missing a couple of the roller wheels on the bottom and two pieces of the mirror up top. And we believe it should have a detailed piece of trim over each of the missing mirror pieces and those are not there as well. The new owner will need to replace the mirror and trim. But for the age, it's awesome! It is very sturdy and would make someone a very nice vanity. It measures approximately 30.25"H ... morex 39.75W x 17"D. From bottom to top of mirror measures 65.75"H. This is a 7-Drawer Vanity/ dressing table Dresser with Mirror/ white oak. Handles are original brass scroll. Drawers are Dovetail(by hand) not manufactured. Mirror has a thicker than usual bevel. There is a few fades in the mirror. Hand carved around mirror. Back of dresser has a number on the back that states 1589. Some chips here and there. Nothing drastic. Vintage Art Deco Tri-fold Mirror Mirror-clad Vanity Dresser Table
You are bidding on an old deco style mirror clad dresser or vanity table with a tri-fold mirror. The legs are painted or stained wood and the top and sides are mirrors including a tri-fold mirror. There are two drawers as well. Made of maple. The piece could use some touching up with black paint or stain around the mirrors and here and there on the legs. There are some clouding and other spots(the black shadows where the silvering has worn out on the back of the mirrors) on the mirrors but the glass is intact and looks interesting. You can see all this in the photos(sorry for all the reflections but it is hard to take a picture with all these mirrors! The tri-fold top can be taken off with a couple of screws. Antique Dressing Table Vanity or Dresser ca.1940's
1940's era dressing table or vanity, What little I know about this(age and type) I learned from the owner of a consignment shop that specializes in antique furniture. Drawers are dovetailed and fronts appear to be a laminate. The three panel mirrors are in good shape aside from chipping as shown in picture#5. Has various nicks and scratches and the finial at the top is cracked and has apparently come off and be reattached with a single screw. ART DECO WATERFALL BEDROOM CHIFFOROBE WITH DESK DRESSER DRESSING TABLE FULL BED
Here is an absolutely gorgeous vintage. Circa 1930's to 1940's, art deco waterfall bedroom group, made in America and a terrific example of beautifully designed well constructed bedroom group with matched mahogany veneer with contrasting trim, lovely inlay in a floral in urn design, fabulous hardware incorporating bake-o-lite into it's design, casters on all pieces and fabulous clear mirrors and decorative trim. This four part set includes the incredible chifforobe with a wonderful drop front desk build in, two cedar closets with hanging bar within, hat box r large blind cubbie at the top two large drawers below the desk and another with contrasting burl veneer across the front above the desk below the hat box. The dresser with large round mirror has three large, deep clean drawers and the matching dressing table also with a large ... moreround mirror has two drawers on either side and two small drawers in the top central area on either side of where the light had been below the frosted glass to uplight the piece. The light is not currently functional but a light could be reinstalled and wired easily if desired by the new owner. I know someone who can do this before it ships if a buyer desired for an additional fee. The full side bed headboard and foot board are also quite lovely as shown and uses double hook metal side rails to support the box spring and mattress. Together, in such a marvelous well constructed original design and wonderful condition, this vintage art deco waterfall mahogany veneer bedroom group is a real find and really to make a statement in your home. The chifforobe stands 70 inches tall and measures 40 inches wide by 20 1/2 inches front to back. It has two cedar lined closets. One on each side measuring 63 inches tall by 9 inches wide by 18 inches deep, front to back. The small top drawer below the hat box measures 16 1/4 inches wide by 13 1/4 inches front to back and 3 inches deep.
