1930-1940's Art Deco Wood Inlay Vanity Dressing Table with Round Mirror
Multiple types of wood inlays were used on this circa 1930-1940's vanity to enhance the Art Deco design of the piece. Just beautiful! The large 39 3/4" diameter mirror sits on the 4-drawer vanity top; there is a round marbled wood medallion in the middle. The drawers are dovetailed. The reflective back of the mirror is worn though you can see yourself clearly. The top of the dresser has a crack that you can see in the third photo. Some of the wood veneer inlay is missing at the bottom of the drawers and the bottom of the middle panel. There is a repair made on the back of the piece that you can see in picture# 3. Right side. This is an antique French Art Deco vanity from the 1920's. It is made of finely crafted Walnut with dovetail and tongue& groove construction. The adjustable swiveling mirror is supported by two fluted columns and flanked by two curvaceous cabinets. There is a shelf directly beneath the mirror. On the left is a bank of three drawers. On the right a single door cabinet with a floral design subtly carved into one corner. The right side is topped with an unusual marble specimen with a mottled"Plum Pudding" veining pattern. Antique Art Deco Cavalier Waterfall Vanity Dressing Table with Mirror -Needs TLC
Antique vanity/dressing table. Child's size? Measures approx. 5' tall(to the top of the mirror. 4'3" wide, 18" deep. In need of some love and a refinishing. The finish appears to have already been removed some years ago or it is just that worn. I don't know for sure though. Peeling and chipped veneer in many places. Is missing the little brackets that hold the mirror to the wood backing. Also missing a piece of glass for the top center(between the drawers) Both of those items are easily replaced. Someone wrote their name on the mirror, but it does seem to come off easily when scraped, so it is not etched in there. The mirror alone on this piece is worth $40.00. Circa 1930's to 1940's, art deco waterfall bedroom group, made in America and a terrific example of beautifully designed well constructed bedroom group with matched mahogany veneer with contrasting trim, lovely inlay in a floral in urn design, fabulous hardware incorporating bake-o-lite into it's design, casters on all pieces and fabulous clear mirrors and decorative trim. This four part set includes the incredible chifforobe with a wonderful drop front desk build in, two cedar closets with hanging bar within, hat box r large blind cubbie at the top two large drawers below the desk and another with contrasting burl veneer across the front above the desk below the hat box. The dresser with large round mirror has three large, deep clean drawers and the matching dressing table also with a large ... moreround mirror has two drawers on either side and two small drawers in the top central area on either side of where the light had been below the frosted glass to uplight the piece. The light is not currently functional but a light could be reinstalled and wired easily if desired by the new owner. I know someone who can do this before it ships if a buyer desired for an additional fee. The full side bed headboard and foot board are also quite lovely as shown and uses double hook metal side rails to support the box spring and mattress.
