This lovely vintage Art Deco Japanese kyodai. Or mirror stand& vanity dating from the early Showa period between1930 and the early 50's boasts an adjustable 3 way mirror that creates multiple reflections, made in a beautiful extra thick quality glass with beveled borders that still has a very clear reflection for its age. The center below the mirror is adorned with a textured glass surface reflecting a pale blue colour. Its Art deco lines, adorned with a lovely stripy grain veneer in a golden shade are accented by silver tone openwork handles. Small drawers offer space for accessories or make-up and it can easily fit on a night stand, chest or work top making it an very useable and versatile piece. It is in excellent overall condition for its age with no major damage. This bedroom was set was purchased at an antique store in Eureka. California for $3,500 about 8 years ago. Made by Morris Furniture Manufacturing Company, Los Angeles. It includes: Nightstand. 16 in wide x 13 in deep x 27 in tall- Vanity. 48.5 in wide x 18.5 in deep x 30 in tall without mirror, or 65 in tall with mirror attached- Stool with original upholstery underneath a layer of modern fabrics. 22 in wide x 12 in deep x 17.5 in tall- Dresser with five drawers. 32 in wide x 19.5 in deep x 49 in tall The set will require some polish. There are only two pieces of the original glass left(on the sides of the vanity) and the hardware is not original. There are some watermarks on the top of the nightstand. VTG 3 pc 50'S Black Art Deco Wood Bedroom Furniture Set Chest Dresser Mirror I remember these pieces in my aunt's bedroom many years ago. Pretty sure they are from the 50's. She always had"modern" taste back then. No idea who the manufacturer was but back of the dresser reads"WMB 8862 8864 T. DR. and then"90 Blue Mink" Pieces are heavy and seem to be made of oak. The grain is visible with a shiny black stain on it. Which sort of gives it a blackish, blue color. The handles are gold metal, but not sure what kind. There is a routing line around several drawers that are filled in with a gold finish. It has been used so there are some nicks here and there, but she was pretty careful with her things because at that time they needed to last a life time. Both pieces are slightly more narrow at the top and then get wider at the bottom-pretty neat with interesting lines, modern lines. Legs are attached at an angle. But does not impact the piece. Dresser-32" tall; 60" long; 21" deep with 3 sets of 3 drawers(the 3 large ones are in the center) Mirror attaches to the top with screws in the back. Mirror-50 1/2" long by 33" tall(including 1 3/4" wood piece at bottom) Beveled(some clouding& some slight silver loss typical for it's age) Attached to wood which then sits on top of the dresser and bolted to 3 pieces of wood in the back. TRUE ART DECO 3 DRAWER DRESSER BUREAU WITH MIRROR
This is an old Art Deco dresser from the late 1930's. It has three drawers with chrome drawer pulls that are original to the dresser. The drawer4s have a nice grain pattern typical of the era. The mirror has Deco style stepped side panels. There's no exceptional wear on the dresser beyond what is normal for a 75 year old piece of furniture. The drawers do stick occasionally. But the finish on the piece is nice and polished up nicely. The top doesn't have quite the same shine being the part that has seen the most wear over the years, but Old English works wonders on it. The dresser measures 41" wide by 30" deep. This is a nice. Waterfall style, Art Deco dresser that is still looking very good, but has a few scratches and wear. It could be spruced up a bit with the right TLC and made into a piece for a super, cool, Art Deco setting. It is approximately 52 inches high, 32 inches wide, and 18 inches deep. The mirror on the back is approximately 8 inches high. All the drawer handles are in good condition as are the drawers. Noted are the pieces in the chest frame that are under each drawer to prevent dirt and debris from falling into the drawers below. I have a dozen photos up so please look closely and use the magnification feature. Note there are caster wheels on the bottom for easier moving around the house. I have pictured a footboard from the bed that went with this set. It comes with the dresser if you should want it. It is for a full size box ... morespring and mattress. Vintage art deco 3 drawer dresser. Good condition. Please review all pictures closely. Couple of things I noticed on the dresser. It has couple of l areas of blue paint on it one on the top corner and other small one the side. top has your average wear. Mirror I noticed when cleaning is starting to have haze marks. it has two spots of chips of the wood missing. front drawer and spot on the side bottom. On the left side I see some stain drips. See picture 6. Size is Dresser 43 3/4" long x 18 1/2" deep x 34" tall Mirror over all is 32" wide on the bottom and is 33 7/8" high Mirror itself is 24" wide x 29 1/2" high. No cracks in the mirror. Nice vintage 1930s 1940s art deco style waterfall vanity/dresser with round mirror. It appears to have been fairly recently refinished except for the mirror. The knobs and handles have been painted. The veneer appears to have been replaced. It has dovetail joinings of the drawers. It is in fair condition-even though it has been refinished. It has some areas that need work. The veneer has some spots where it is not smooth and somewhat uneven and there are some depressions in it. There is a small gap between the middle dresser top and where the mirror attaches. The mirror has places around the edges where the silver is rubbing off. It has other various nicks, dents, and scratches consistent with its age. Piece was acquired from its original owner whom bought the pieces in Harrisburg in the late 40s and got the glass custom made in the 50s. Tall Dresser: 5 Drawer 49" tall x 33" wide x 18" deep Cedar wood boxed bottom drawer. When I acquired it the original shellac finish was so opaque you could not see any of the flame mahogany on the drawer fronts.I was delighted to find the beautiful maple and flame mahogany woods under the old finish.The side panels are gorgeous mahogany veneers.I restore antiques and customize furniture. The entire dresser was hand scrapped(no stripper) and carefully the finish was restored using many, many coats of hand rubbed polyurethane for a gorgeous rich finish which brings out all of the beautiful woods.The satin black oil finish was then covered in a clear polymer giving it tremendous depth and beauty. The top surface has a wood grain texture, and with the custom black finish it look like leather, it is very unique. The following are the custom additions.
