Art deco charles rennie mackintosh inspired welsh dresser. Well after much pondering we have decided to sell our family dresser. It was bought by my father in the late 1960's from auction and has been in our family ever since. For the last 10 years it has been in storage and we have now awaken it from its slumber. Trust me, if we could fit it into our house or our relations house it would not being sold, it is just too large for Mr Average's house, which of course makes it much more exclusive. These were in big demand in the 1960's and 1970's but then wained but now there is a resurgence for those that have the space to display them as they should be displayed. OK the bad points(not many! One of the doors does not close due to being stored on a slight slope, this is easily fixed by wedging the body over time or sanding down ... morethe edge of the door(a few millimeters is all that is required) One door is locked and the key is missing but its in our house somewhere and was taken down with the dresser happy to send it on once we find it(bizzare- we have this since the 60's and in the last furlong we loose the key! thats about it everything else looks ok apart from the od scratch here and there and some wood split of a hairline nature. The original mirror fixing screws are still present and come with the mirror. The mirror part is detached for the pictures. Which are not great as it was difficult to photograph in our garage(Steve McQueen is not for sale neither is the handsome chap reflected in the mirror! It is still very dusty but will come up fantastic with some proper cleaning and wood cleaning treatment. thats about it really. Its a sad day for me and short of buying a bigger house there is no way of keeping it. The body is 5 feet long x 2 feet deep x 3 feet 4 inches high. The mirror part is 5 feet long. 8 inches deep and 3 feet 4 inches high. This makes it 6 feet 8 inches high when assembled.
