This Rococo style carved whitewashed wood Italian wall mirror is outstanding. It is asymmetrical with curves galore. Scrollwork flourishes, acanthus leaves, a pillar, some berries, three display shelves and topping it all is a good sized striding pheasant. Found at an estate auction, I am not sure of its age, but it is most likely early twentieth century. It appears to have the original finish. With minor blemishes, ... morebut is in sound condition. A partially visible horizontal top seam and a couple of vertical bottom seams are in need of some slight retouching or they could easily be left as is. There is no evidence of other repairs or breaks that I have noticed.but as can be seen in the photo, the back is covered with paper and I haven't tried to detach it. The mirror itself is in almost perfect shape. There are two heavy duty eyelet fittings on either side to hang it on the wall. Measurements are 15-1/2“width x 31-1/4“ high and it extends out 5” from the wall. The bottom shelf is 4-3/8" deep. While the other two shelves are 2-3/8" deep. The piece weighs 4 pounds 14 ounces. American celebration of Italian renaissance was mostly seen in architecture and furniture around the 3rd quarter of the 19th c. This piece came out of a place that had 18 foot ceilings. Size: 63.25" wide x 82" high and 11" deep. This piece has been restored to glory. Work around crest with plaster repair and newer ebonizing and fine gold highlights. Original mirror in place. Up for auction is an antique wood mirror with gold trim. I was told the mirror is from the late 1800 to 1900. The back of the mirror has a wood covering. SIZE: 12 inches tall x 10 inches wide. Antique Victorian Solid Oak Mirror Beveled Glass 1800's Handcarved Primitive
Here is a early to mid 1800's solid oak mirror with beveled glass. For its age. It's in great shape. The mirror itself could use some attention but there are no cracks or scratches. The top left corner of the glass shows some deterioration. The mirror is still quite clear and vivid. The glass also has a couple of air bubbles in it. The frame is made of solid oak with nice joints on the top corners. The carving up top was all done by hand as is simple yet very elegant. The frame measures 20.5" wide x 17" tall(measured from the top of the design carving) The frame is approx 3/4" thick. It had a solid wood back that is nailed to the frame. This unusual Ladies Dressing table mirror measures 10” wide by 14” high and has had it’s beveled mirror replaced over the century and a quarter since it was made. Beside an almost microscopic crack 1/8” just under the amazing cast of Baucus at the top of the mirror this antique art is flawless. Antique Shaving Mirror w Drawer. Description: Mahogany veneer in beautiful design. Edged in a lighter wood, one drawer and mirror. Accents are two lionhead drawer pulls. The mirror is a replaced mirror otherwise all original. Brass screws that hold the mirror. Not just functional but an attractive piece to display. This mirror belonged to 19th C American Artist. Austa Densmore Sturdevant. 1855-1936. Originally from Meadville, PA she studied in New York City and Paris. She settled in Cragsmoor, New York, a populart artist colony in the started in the late 1800's She was a portrait and floral artist. Adept at all mediums. She is listed in several Art references- Who was Who in American Art, Art Across America, Dictionary of Women Artists, etc. The last listing was a catalogue of her work in 1996(see pictures above. GRAND ANTIQUE ORNATE CARVED WOOD LARGE 6 FT FIREPLACE SCREEN PIER MIRROR FRAME
ASOLUTELY STUNNING AND EXCEPTIONALLY NICE CONDITION! We are pleased to offer this antique. Solid, carved wood fireplace screen frame. The frame is masterfully carved. The designs are not glued pieces, they are carved into the frame. The frame has 7sections. The top, two side frame pieces, and the bottom frame piece. There are also two side attachements with a bottom cross piece. Additionally, there are 4 arched feet. The frame featues exceptionally ornate and intricately carved wood. The top of the frame has very detailed leave and acorn carved design. This"headpiece" has an ornate arched lower section which is incised in a diamond design. Inside the diamonds are notches which make up 4 petaled flowers. A faux twist rope pattern is carved on the border. This topper is one piece of wood and attaches to the side frames at the upper ... morecorners(see photo12) The side frames are also incised/carved with overlapping leaves as well as the diamond cross hatched pattern. They are connected to side columns with dowls(there are no nail or screw holes present) The side columns feature turned wood with a gorgeous. Flower accent. The side columns continue to the ornate feet of the screen. The feet extend the same in the front and the back. They feature carved wood leaves with a bottom, carved flower. The feet are connected with a cross frame piece that is carved in an egg and dart design. The frame is exquisite. It is all carved with only 4 overlay pieces. These pieces are located at each corner. They are carved shells and are a much lighter colored wood. I am not exactly certain as to the type of wood. It is finished in a medium to darker brown stain. The four shell overlays are a golden colored wood. The frame is in extremely nice condition with very few dings or scratches. It has been beautifully preserved. This very large and very ornate frame at one time housed a lovely tapestry but it is gone. It would make a fantastic standing room divider/dressing screen or an amazing mirror frame.
