I am not positive of the boxes origin but I believe this is Folk Art. There ... moreare hand painted tulips on the edges and hand painted white flowers used in early American art. The measurements are 17 inches wide or long. 9 1/2 inches in height, and 7 1/2 inches deep. The chest/ Box weighs 11 pounds. It does have wear which is to be expected for it's age. The paint on the flowers have faded in some places, there are a few cracks on the wood, one is on the bottom(does not go all the way through, and one is on the inside of the lid. Wood shrinks with age and cracks are normal. There are a few places where wood has chipped off(one on the foot) the lock is missing and there is a heavy patina especially the places that would get the most use(by the handles. The front side has a darker patina(see 2nd picture) than the back side, it was probably sitting up against a wall and was covered on the top. The feet did have felt pads at one time. The rivets(or nails) are old type nails. It is made very well, it is very heavy and sturdy and it closes fine. It is a very beautiful piece whatever its origin is and the paint job is intricate and looks like it was very time consuming. Please email with any questions I will be glad to help. Antique Child's Dresser Hand Made Early Painted Piece Mirror 4 Drawers Chippy
Primitive Antique Child's Dresser Great little Mirrored Dresser. Originally purchased at the Brimfield Antique Show in MA. This is a great little chippy piece. Do not know the history, my guess it was a hand made piece by someone with very good wood working skill. There is a nice carved pediment across the top over an early mirror. Turned columns on the sides of the mirror and nice decorative trim around the mirror. There are two shallow wide drawers and two square deeper drawers on the bottom. As you can see in the pictures one of the drawer bottoms was made from a wood crate and one of the sides also shows the imprint of a wood crate under the paint(see last picture) There are old metal wheels on the bottom. In good solid antique condition. The paint is worn and chipped, there is wear to the mirror with some silver loss, on the side ... morewhere the imprint of the crate can be seen there is a break to the trim wood on the back corner. On the old wood backing it looks like there is an old water mark. It has seen years of use. Still a great primitive chippy piece that could be left as is, or repainted for a bright clean finish. The top piece with the columns and the mirror is held on with screws and can be removed to cut down on shipping cost. Dresser measures 31" tall. 19" wide and about 12" deep. Listing tonight is a very nice smaller solid oak dresser/ side table with natural top and bright freshly painted light yellow body. I stripped the top and left slight remains of its past in the surface. It was then cleaned and hand wiped with 3 coats of furniture wax. It gives a great luster with protection and not a shiny poly look. It is very sturdy and about 100 years old. It has minor wear and tear on the wood but so would you at that age. It also has great original metal wheels that allow it to be rolled around. It also has great plastic art deco pulls that were replaced long ago and work well. Antique Vintage Painted Marble Commode Chest of Drawers Italian Nightstand Table
Beautiful. Petite carved wood chest of drawers with marble top. The commode was probably some sort of burled wood that has now been painted a flat black. Because it was painted over burl, you can see the varying textures on the sides. It looks like the hardware or at least screws were replaced at some point as some of the screws are quite long when you open the drawers. The bottom drawer is hard to open. Some chipping to paint. The marble top is a beautiful shape with varying veining of purples and pinks. The piece is a great size and would work as an end table, nightstand, storage piece in a powder room, etc. I would recommend white glove shipping to protect the delicacy of the marble, but I'll leave shipping arrangements up to the buyer. This is one of our lovely custom pieces. It is a unique one of a kind piece that can be used as a dresser. Buffet, or baby changing dresser and then converted back to a bedroom dresser or buffet. The 4 drawers are embossed in a multilayer pattern and trimmed out beautifully with a black and ivory urns and a floral pattern in the center. It has vintage painted pulls. The insides of the drawers are also painted inside and out by hand in a cottage white paint as safe for babies as possible and sealed. The drawers are waxed for easy gliding. The top is done in an embossed flowing floral pattern and trimmed out in an 8 layer edging and the sides are done in a striped corduroy pattern. It has a wonderful mirror that is original to the piece. If used as a baby station we will include the baby changing box that can be attached in place of the mirror ... moreand then the mirror can be reattached when ready. 1930's Antique Vanity Dresser Hand Painted Annie Sloan Desk
Antique 1930's double topped box vanity. She was painted in my own hand-mixed decorative paint in shades of cream and indigo blue. She was then hand waxed with Annie Sloan Dark Wax. Which is a premium furniture wax. Set on her original wooden casters(although she is missing one, but it does not affect her functionality) Original hardware and original wooden appliques. This is such a gorgeous piece. This piece can be used as a Desk, a TV Console, a Server, or a Vanity. 49 inches wide, 28 inches tall from counter to floor(top boxes add 5 additional inches) and 20 inches deep. She's very old and has had some veneer issues. Veneer was pulled off where it was loose. Then sanded down and painted over, but you can still see slightly where veneer meets the natural wood, but I think it gives this piece character. Drawers all function. While the drawers and top are cream colored with pink and red roses, blue flowers, and orange and yellow flowers. It has a shabby feel to it. This particular set is painted white and the old paint is layered and somewhat worn but it is overall basically clean with both this desk and chair in very nice condition with very little if any noticible breakage to the wicker. And with the rush seat intact and strong. This desk and chair make for a sturdy work station offering so many different decorating possibilities. This desk stands 35 inches tall to the top of the two wicker backets on the back corners and has a surface height of 29 inches. The desk measures 28 inches wide by 17 inches front to back. The two baskets each measure 9 1/2 inches wide by 4 1/2 inches front to back and 6 inches tall.
