Vintage lot of 5 Furniture Casters, Coasters, Porcelain, Glass, Silver, Rubber
This auction is for 5 vintage coasters or casters for furniture. 1. The glass one has a lot of wear and it is 3 inches across it is heavy. If you look closely at the picture it shows that it has a blemish on the glass which was when it was made the one side is like"melted" wavy down a groove sort of thing. It is unique with that. 2. This is a porcelain pottery caster/coaster it measures 2 3/4 inches. It is shiny and solid. Heavy, on the back side it has E 8, I dont know what the means, but that is what it has, I have shown this in the picture. 3. This coaster caster is a lighter reddish brown rubber material. It has groves and a wavy patter in the groove, on the back it has VELVA in an oval and above that I cant read looks like VAN. PR. INC. below the oval it has BROOKLYN, NY USA; This measures 2 1/2 inches across. 4. This coaster ... morecaster is a dark brown rubber and hard. It has a graduated within to the center, and it has on the back no mark just a spiral raised line from the center out to the edge. This measures about 2 inches across. 5. This last coaster caster item is silver plate metal it is a square shape. It has 4 peg legs. On the back it has in a circle going around it has VAN BERGH SILVERPLATE ROCHESTER NY USA, and in the center of the circle QUADRUPLE PLATE, out side of the circle it has what looks like 1.00. On the outside border it has what looks like swirling leaves, petals and flowers. I have tried to show this all in the photos. They all show wear as they were all used for furniture. This is a set of 4 new replacement wood furniture casters. The units look great and are designed to look like the vintage old wheels. Most of the units are have nice shiny brass. But as shown in the picture some have tarnished areas. The wheels are about 1 5/8" in diameter and the post is 1.5" and the entire unit is around 3.5" I will include 4 mounting units as shown in the picture. A set of 4 unusual style porcelain casters. The porcelain wheel is apr. 1 7/8 inch in diameter and apr. 1 1/4 inch wide. The overall height is apr. 5 inches with the shaft part being 3 inches long. One of the casters has some chips on both side of the wheel by the hub/ axle part which is shown in a close up. The chips do not affect anything. The porcelain does show wear/ staining? where it made contact with the floor. The porcelain will need a good cleaning with the proper cleaner. The pictures should show the rest. Up for auction are four matching metal antique Victorian era hardware furniture pulls recently found at auction in the Lancaster County. PA area. They are offered in good used condition and feature a nice cartuche form and retains original screws in two of the four pieces. A cleaner pull is on one piece, but one with the original patina is included. This is what was found and all will be included to the winning bidder. The backing is tin and the pull is brass. The backings are approximately 1 3/4" in diameter. Pulls extend approximately 2" from the backing. Set of 4 vintage casters. Perfect for finishing a piece of mid-century furniture. Putty or soft rose in color. Up for sale are eight matching metal vintage hardware furniture remnants recently found at auction in the Lancaster County. PA area. They are offered in good used condition and feature a nice reticulated form. It has a pewter colored finish. They appear to be remnants from furniture hardware, as there is a hole in the center where the pull might be. This hole has an approximate diameter of 1'8" in size. It is in a round snowflake form. These pieces are made of metal, but it does not attract a magnet. They each measures approximately 2 7/8" in diameter. The back is marked, Japan" with the number"981" A very nice find, great for reuse on any piece of furniture or to be repurposed to accent any steampunk style project. This is a matched set; all are marked Universal#5. They are supposed to have swivel action. But it is catchy on all of them. They will need a little restoration to be fully functional. About 3 1/4" top to bottom. Wheel diameter is about 1 1/4" wide. Not all of the wheels are perfectly round, examples shown in the pictures. I don't think any of them are way off though.
