Medieval/gothic oak carved tracery panels: part of 15th/16th century screen
These seven portions of an incomplete medieval carved oak tracery screen date from the late 15th/ 16th century and exhibit the skill of the carver to great effect. The screen is'blind' in that only one side is carved. The other side being flat and probably originally laid over panelling. The paired arches are moulded and bear cusps at their heads with finely carved and delicate protruding florets. Each pair of joined arches is surmounted by a roughly diamond-shaped floral carving. The base of each arch bears a central upright miniature'poppy-head' as seen on church bench-ends, especially in East Anglia. The widened base of each'poppy-head' encloses a carved flower surrounded by foliage. The oak has a rich patina acquired over many years: the backs of the pieces have that grey tone of age. Please see the pictures to ... moreget a better idea of the quality of these pieces. The sections are shown as they appear on my wall. With gaps allowing for any obvious missing sections. As the sections rest on a wooden ledge, the oak has not been damaged in any way; small brackets have been used to hold pieces against the wall. On the reverse, occasional use has been made of Blu-tak to help temporary attachment to the wall. I will number the pieces to allow easy assemblage. The whole'run' of pieces measures 1metre 20cm. With a maximum height of 59cm. The'poppy-heads' are 21cm high. The round pegs used by the carver to join sections are visible in places and the individual sections are, of course, quite fragile. Nevertheless, this tracery has been on the wall for 15 years without mishap and should last for many more years. A difficult thing to pack. I have estimated postage costs. This is a very nice carved mahogany panel that measures aprox. 24" x 36" One side is flat and smooth while the bottom is more rounded. It is in good condiition with no breaks or damage. Victorian Carved and Incised Walnut Urn Finial
Up for auction is what I believe to be a Victorian era bed finial. This would have graced the top most spot on a high-end bed. This finial has lost one of it's sides but noy allows the carved urn to be mounted on a flat surface. One of the carved handles remains. So that another can be duplicated. Genuine Period Antique Carved Wood Table Stand w/ Drawer Drop Pull
A genuine early period antique wood table stand. I am in a slight dilemma as to which period it is from. Could be Colonial but cannot say 100% although could be Colonial Revival/ Victorian as well. It does have the appearance and the hardware fits but I am not an expert at furniture so will leave it up to your discretion after reading description and viewing pictures. The table is 20" tall x 21 3/4" across x 12.5 deep, weighs approx 17-18 lbs. It has one drawer that pulls out from the bottom that has a flower carving on each side of it's drop pull. Drop pull and plate appear to be iron with pull itself having a pointed end with rough side surface and smooth faceted, roughly made, pointed tip(somewhat like an old handmade nail look) The drop pull is secured with a staple fastener. The drawer has the triangular cut dove tailing ... morebut odd in that the back side of the drawer's dovetailing is round, see pics. The back of the drawer are carve marked with"+L" The two sides are carved with medallions in a flower design. The legs are turned and the feet are an onion style bun feet, slightly flattened. The wood has the grain of Atlantic White Cedar but will admit I am not great at identification of various woods but when comparing some pictures it looked closest. It is in VG condition, one foot does have a crack in it, there is a small crack on the edge of one of the carved panels on the drawer, and the panel above the drawer where two side by side pieces of wood meet has a very slight space in between them. There is a small light scratch/ scuff here and there. Very nicely kept and cared for during it's 100+ years(as I don't believe it to date early then late 1800's, this I am rather sure of) I acquired this at an estate her in Charlotte where I also purchased an 1880's Minton piece which I recently sold. Years ago. I purchased these two carved mahogany panels for a project in the house. My original intent was to cut down the panels and inset them into the wall and then frame around them. But my wife and I area in the process of downsizing and starting to sell off our artwork including these two mahogany panels. The panels are in excellent condition. At one time this panels were attached to a large piece of furniture. They were meticulously carved. These are very strong mahogany panels and are either from French or English origins from the mid to late 1800s. There are two panels and priced per panel. They measure 21 X 24 inches for the outer dimensions. The carved interior panel measures 12 1/2 X 16 1/2. The starting price is price per panel. There are two panels.

This is an old set of beautiful wing backed chair legs. The back two legs are plain but the front legs are beautiful claw feet with ornate carved design on upper portion and very neat looking claws around a ball design on bottom. These are two toned stained and the finish is worn. These could be stripped and restained to one's liking. Please view the photos carefully and email me with any questions you may have. The front legs measure 8& 1/2" tall not including the 1& 1/2" screw. The back feet measure 7& 1/2" tall and these have slide in rods that are almost 2" long. Antique Hand Carved Oak Wood Cabinet Door Ornate Thistle Arch Pattern Victorian Description: Up for sale is this estate rescued old door. It looks to be a door off of a cabinet of some kind. It measures 24 3/4" x 17 1/2" x 2" including the knob) As you can see from the photos this cabinet is carved by hand. The carving is rough and irregular but still beautiful in its intricacy! The pattern looks like it depicts a thistle plant inside of an arched design. You can also see that there are a couple of pieces missing from the design including one of the oval shaped designs in the top left and possibly two rectangle shaped pieces at the top of the columns below the arch. The knob also looks to have been hand carved. This door still has the original hinges which are rusted in place. The back of the door looks as though it had 2 cross ... morepieces which have been removed. The door does have some cracks developing in the bottom as you can see in the photos. I think this must have originally sat at the end of a Rail. One side shows where the rail probably fit in and the other side has a piece that sticks out and shows hinge mark. They are mortise and tenon. One piece has a n edge that is broken off near the end on the back. Please look over pictures) These are almost 6" wide at the widest and each piece is about 23"2 3.5" lo ng. these are r eally HEAVY! They will cost at lea st $35. to ship. Maybe more! Dimensions: 8 inches high. 11 1/8 inches wide/ long and 1.5 inches deep. Condition: These pieces are antique and have the usual wear associated with their age. They have dents. Nicks, chips, scratches, cracks and mars associated with age. One has a previous repair. The bases are cut at an angle, so they will not stand up by themselves. This is original to the pieces.
