There is a name and year written on the bottom of the desk, but it is very faint and can only be seen while hold the desk at a certain angle to the light. I tried to capture the writing in a picture, but could only get the first part of the name. The name stands out the most. The rest of the writing, I believe would be where the owner lived and the year is much fainter. It looks like Maggie C Farr(something) something) 1876 or 1896. The box measures about 11 ¼” x 7 3/4” x 3 ½” closed) Opened and lying flat the desk measures about 16” long. The inside bottom felt writing surface that lifts up is tight and strong while the top felt writing surface that lifts up is wiggly, but still very much intact. Very nice old lap desk. It is cast iron with a wooden seat and is attached ... moreto a piece of wood at the base. The casting design is quite ornate. The seat swivels but the height does not change as some stools do. I believe that the seat had fabric covering it at one time as there are small holes all over it. Possibly from staples? This fine piece would look great as a plant stand or even as a stool. It has mounting holes in the cast iron base for mounting it permenantly to a floor or just leave it attched to the existing piece of wood. The stool may be disassembled for shipment. The height is not adjustable. Get creative! Approximate Measurements The stool measures 19 1/2" tall and 21" tall including the base board. It has an approximate 6 1/2" diameter base. The seat of the stool has a 12" diameter. Markings None Condition Very good condition for its age. There is some minor to moderate scratches in the paint on the pedestal and base. You are bidding on an antique wooden washstand from a convent. We don't know the age or the type of wood. It has a nice light oak look finish. It is very well made and has alot of carved detail on the front drawers and door. Each drawer has a working lock. The one key fits all locks. The key is not original to the piece but is of that time period. We are not sure if the front pulls or rollers are original to the piece. As you can see in the picture. The holes for the front pulls match up with the original holes in the drawers. There is a slight loss of finish in one spot on the backsplash. There is also finish loss on top of the towel bar where the damp towel would have hung. The washstand measures 48 inches tall from towel bar to floor. It is 30 inches wide x 16 3/4 inches deep. I am selling an antique wooden chest of drawers that has been passed down through my family since my great aunt first purchased it. The chest of drawers is in great condition. It was made by Sligh Furniture, Grand Rapids Chair Company. The chest of drawers has 4 wheels on which it rolls, and the drawer handles are metal hoops. There are two small drawers on top, with two larger ones below. The item has not been through much wear and tear, because it has mainly been used as a decoration in my mothers house for the past decade. Charming Vintage/Antique Wooden 3 Drawer Dresser Maple 1930s/1940s
This is an antique/vintage wooden dresser. It has 3 large drawers. Each drawer has two wooden knob handles. There is scroll like cut outs on the base and the top is nicely rounded. The feet have wooden buttons covering nail/screw inserts. One of these buttons is missing. The middle drawer sticks a bit when opening and closing. There are normal wear marks. But nothing is jumping out as damage to the dresser. It's currently finished is medium toned stain. It's a solid dresser that has all fixable/repairable issues or can get used as is leveraging the vintage charm. This piece is solid wood through out and is in good condition. Just waiting for a new home. There are some minor dings/wear marks but given it's age and constant use for the last 80+ years it's really nice. Antique child's doll dresser or vanity with two drawers and mirror. All wood(oak? 13" high, 10" wide, 4" deep. Drawer pulls are metal and original. Mirror has been replaced. There is glue on the back of the mirror piece. There is also something silver inside the drawers(see photos) There is also a rubbed area on the bottom front(see photo) where something has worn on the wood. Vintage, antique Wooden Vanity, shabby Victorian Cottage Style~
This is a really neat old piece of furniture. The base is very sturdy. Measures 44" wide, 18" deep and 28" tall. The mirror is removable. The drawers pull nicely. I bought this approx 10 years ago and painted it. It has a paint rub on the top and a quarter sized chip on the side, see pictures. The mirror is in good shape but does have chipping to the silvering on the back. Also, some rubs to the front of the mirror. Please see pictures. Sold as is. Beautiful Antique Wooden Window Seat - Dresser / Chest of Drawers
I recently acquired this at an estate sale. It appears that it may have been something else and modified into the window seat. But I'm not sure. As shown. The two sides and the flat middle piece comes off. The tops of the two end pieces also slide off. I do not have the keys for the drawers and don't even know if the locks work anyways. It is about 36" high. 52" wide and 21" opening between the two ends. It finally got above freezing and I decided to start working on clearing out my garage. This is for pick up only.
