The shelves are sturdy and secure. Some signs of woodworm at the very top(mainly on the back) and there's small marks on the shelf edges where hooks were hanging. The pine is lightly discoloured in places commensurate with genuine old age and use. A small notch has been cut out on the bottom edge of one side panel. The shelves were originally scumble-glaze varnished. And this has all been sanded flat so you could paint, wax or varnish as you wish. The shelves have grooves at the back for standing plates. Very pretty antique pine glass fronted dresser top. Bought a number of years ago to go over and compliment a cupboard. Which we are keeping, but this piece is now ready for a new home. Rustic in as much as it is not in a ready to use condition. It has been in dry storage. But could do with a rub down and oil before use.
