Description: This listing is for a Fine 20th Century Reverse Serpentine Chest of Drawers. It is not labeled. But is of simply superb quality in every aspect. A large solid mahogany top, molded and incredibly carved on the facade and formed in the reverse serpentine of the chest, rests over a collection of four graduated drawers. The chamfered and fluted corners flank the drawers. Each fully serpentine in form. The flamed mahogany veneers framed in cockbead molding applied around the edges of the drawer, hiding the dovetail construction of the drawers on the front. These are exposed on the backs of each drawer, with oak secondary woods completing the frame of the drawers for heavy solid pieces that are built to last many lifetimes. ... moreThe case rests over four bracket feet, the front two also bevelled on the corners to mirror the chest. It is typical to the late twentieth century era. It has been made by a cabinet maker and not a factory so therefore is of as very high quality. The dresser would look well in any small to medium sized kitchen or dining room. It is not too deep so would not take up too much room but could still store lots of items. It is also in two pieces. The bottom section stands on a scrolled plinth supporting two large doors. The doors are beautifully panelled and have two round turned wooden knobs opening to shelves behind for plenty of storage. ATTRACTIVE 20TH CENTURY GEORGIAN STYLED BURLED ELM BACHELOR'S CHEST WITH WRITING DESK TOP With our compliments we are pleased to offer you this sweet and very practical mid 20th century Georgian styled English Bachelor's chest with writing desk top in burled Elm Veneer. This is obviously not a period antique as we clearly represent but a very good quality dovetailed joined drawer chest of drawers that has a super look for very little money. It is formatted with four graduated drawers. String inlays, lovely original brasses, cut out side panels and loafers that support the writing lid and a very strong generous flip top writing desk. This piece will serve any number of needs in either home or office. These are not dressers in great abundance and although not a period piece we place it in high regard and proud to offer it. We are moving ... moreat a very fast pace and have to process pictures right out of the trucks. We note some veneer loss on the facing on the left side loafer and a few scuffs from no doubt brooms/dusters making contact with the center drop pendant.
