Vintage lot of 5 Furniture Casters, Coasters, Porcelain, Glass, Silver, Rubber
This auction is for 5 vintage coasters or casters for furniture. 1. The glass one has a lot of wear and it is 3 inches across it is heavy. If you look closely at the picture it shows that it has a blemish on the glass which was when it was made the one side is like"melted" wavy down a groove sort of thing. It is unique with that. 2. This is a porcelain pottery caster/coaster it measures 2 3/4 inches. It is shiny and solid. Heavy, on the back side it has E 8, I dont know what the means, but that is what it has, I have shown this in the picture. 3. This coaster caster is a lighter reddish brown rubber material. It has groves and a wavy patter in the groove, on the back it has VELVA in an oval and above that I cant read looks like VAN. PR. INC. below the oval it has BROOKLYN, NY USA; This measures 2 1/2 inches across. 4. This coaster ... morecaster is a dark brown rubber and hard. It has a graduated within to the center, and it has on the back no mark just a spiral raised line from the center out to the edge. This measures about 2 inches across. 5. This last coaster caster item is silver plate metal it is a square shape. It has 4 peg legs. On the back it has in a circle going around it has VAN BERGH SILVERPLATE ROCHESTER NY USA, and in the center of the circle QUADRUPLE PLATE, out side of the circle it has what looks like 1.00. On the outside border it has what looks like swirling leaves, petals and flowers. I have tried to show this all in the photos. They all show wear as they were all used for furniture. One of the casters has some chips on both side of the wheel by the hub/ axle part which is shown in a close up. The chips do not affect anything. If you don’t like gold finish they can be painted over. We were using them in our furniture restoration workshop ... moreto replace missing/ broken rosettes on period furniture and when mounted they look original and authentic. Along with furniture restoration there are hundreds of different uses- you can upgrade and beautify almost everything applying them to the interior doors, wall paneling, mirrors, clocks, picture frames, light fixtures, door knobs, window cornices etc, wherever you need it to recreate the original design or express your own fantasy. They look different, depending on the surface they are mounted onto, and easily blend with cast bronze ormolu mounts or carved wood appliqué. You will not be able to find rosettes in such quality and in such quantity anywhere, which is important for a large project and if you want to finish panels in a large room with identical accents or make unique period looking doors all around the house this could be the only choice. Because they are handmade they are all unique and slightly differ from each other but difference is not really noticeable and can be ignored. Up for auction are four matching metal antique Victorian era hardware furniture pulls recently found at auction in the Lancaster County. PA area. They are offered in good used condition and feature a nice cartuche form and retains original screws in two of the four pieces. A cleaner pull is on one piece, but one with the original patina is included. This is what was found and all will be included to the winning bidder. The backing is tin and the pull is brass. The backings are approximately 1 3/4" in diameter. Pulls extend approximately 2" from the backing. Here are 4 NOS mounting brackets for your antique casters. They will Fit most standard antique wooden wheels on dressers and office chairs. Expect some signs of corrosion from age and handling- they remain fully functional. The pieces pictured are not the ones shipped but are from the same lot and are the same size and quality. I would say these. Being older, are probably more sturdy than the newer ones- that's just my opinion) They Measure 1 1/4" tall with an inner diameter of a 1/4" the toothed base is 3/4" I do have multiple lots so just let me know if you need more and you can save on shipping. Antique Bronze Set of 4 Art Nouveau Furniture Feet/Legs
Interesting set of four bronze pieces that would act as the feet for a table(or other piece of furniture) leg. Not sure of a date of origin. But these appear to have some age on them. They're in good shape with minimal signs of wear and a nice patina. The feet measure approximately 4.5" tall, 1.75" deep, and 1.25" wide. The opening where a leg would be inserted is slightly less than an inch in diameter and there is a hole on the back for a screw to hold it in place. Hanging wire attached in back with felt pads to protect wall. Can also freely stand upright, on its own. Five Matching 19th C - Early 20th C Brass Ornaments, Furniture Embelishment
A nice set of five brass ornaments. Likely used as embellishments on fine furniture. They have a lovely silhouette and the front of each piece is attractively incised with a decorative meander; the backs are plain. Each piece is 2 3/8 inches long. And just under a half inch at the widest part. Two of these decorative pieces have a small ring through one of the nailing openings at the tapered end which can be removed. All five pieces are in are in very good overall condition with a warm patina. And are offered as a single lot to the winning bidder.
