SUPERB CRAFTSMANSHIP Quality FINE craftsmanship and artistry. Has been well loved and preserved over the decades. Soft wood dovetail and square nail construction. Hand chamfored panels. I had to look a couple of times before realizing this is hand grain painted to resemble curly and birdseye maple. The artist had a good knowledge of this fine wood. Great attention to detail. All edges pain stakingly hand grain painted. Note how the original bull nose edge marble matches adjoining trim on dresser. All original large chunky porcelain knobs/pulls. Antique American Miniature Chest of Drawers Hand Painted Decoration Early Doll
This middle 19th century chest is crafted of ash and walnut with thin pine wood backing and square nail construction. It measures 12 ¼” tall x 13 ¼” wide x 7 ½” deep and has lovely turned walnut knobs and lively side cuts at the base. The top and drawer faces feature red striped edges framing free-hand floral decoration in red and green under an original layer of golden varnish. The drawer fronts are excellent; the top has a split along the back edge. Round water marks and wear to the paint. This chest is fresh from a northern Indiana estate and has un-touched dirty surface. I don’t think the surface has been enhanced since the 1800s but you will note numerous round, wire nail repairs along the back rabbet into which the back slips with some splits and wood loss. This piece measures: 27" tall. the dresser bottom is 15" tall and the mirror is 12" tall. X 17" wide x 8 1/2" deep. It has 3 pull out drawers. This old child size toy dresser is really a nice primitive piece. Made out of wood and scrap pieces of crates for some lucky little girl. Thr drawer pulls are old thread spools. ANTIQUE VANITY SET BAKELITE DRESSER HAND MIRROR VINTAGE LOOKING GLASS
This is a very old vanity or dresser set in great condition. The items appear to be bakelite but I am going by what I was told when I purchased the lot at an estate sale. The pictures show the pieces to have a design or it might be stains that bleed throughout the backs with metal tear drops in the center. There are no cracks or chips in the glass. I only used water to clean these because I did not want to jeapordize damaging the set with any chemicals. The measurements are as follows. Mirror: 10 inches long X 3 1/2 inches wide. Brush: 8 inches long X 2 1/4 inches wide. File: 6 3/4 inches long X 1 inch wide. Container or Storage Box: 7 inches long X 2 inches wide x 1 inch deep. Antique Child's Dresser Hand Made Early Painted Piece Mirror 4 Drawers Chippy
Primitive Antique Child's Dresser Great little Mirrored Dresser. Originally purchased at the Brimfield Antique Show in MA. This is a great little chippy piece. Do not know the history, my guess it was a hand made piece by someone with very good wood working skill. There is a nice carved pediment across the top over an early mirror. Turned columns on the sides of the mirror and nice decorative trim around the mirror. There are two shallow wide drawers and two square deeper drawers on the bottom. As you can see in the pictures one of the drawer bottoms was made from a wood crate and one of the sides also shows the imprint of a wood crate under the paint(see last picture) There are old metal wheels on the bottom. In good solid antique condition. The paint is worn and chipped, there is wear to the mirror with some silver loss, on the side ... morewhere the imprint of the crate can be seen there is a break to the trim wood on the back corner. On the old wood backing it looks like there is an old water mark. It has seen years of use. Still a great primitive chippy piece that could be left as is, or repainted for a bright clean finish. The top piece with the columns and the mirror is held on with screws and can be removed to cut down on shipping cost. Dresser measures 31" tall. 19" wide and about 12" deep. Antique 1930's double topped box vanity. She was painted in my own hand-mixed decorative paint in shades of cream and indigo blue. She was then hand waxed with Annie Sloan Dark Wax. Which is a premium furniture wax. Set on her original wooden casters(although she is missing one, but it does not affect her functionality) Original hardware and original wooden appliques. This is such a gorgeous piece. This piece can be used as a Desk, a TV Console, a Server, or a Vanity. 49 inches wide, 28 inches tall from counter to floor(top boxes add 5 additional inches) and 20 inches deep. She's very old and has had some veneer issues. Veneer was pulled off where it was loose. Then sanded down and painted over, but you can still see slightly where veneer meets the natural wood, but I think it gives this piece character. Drawers all function. The drawers all move freely. I am not sure if this dresser has been repaired but does not appear to have been. My Grandmother told me this is from her Grandmother who lived in Davenport Iowa. the enamel is not in the best shape there are chips in the white. The stand is in need of restoring has a place where it is not round the bowl fits it fine, this will be a really nice piece when restored i believe this was in the entry way for when the farmers came in to wash their hands before they ate. the towel i put on it was way to big. it is 30"x 15" at the widest place, the bowl is included. the towel is not. it came out of old falling down house that had a big milk barn when they no longer needed it they put it in the grainery.
