SET of 4 Mid Century Iron Metal 28" HAIRPIN LEGS Vintage Heavy Duty
joe calcite SET of 4 MID CENTURY HEAVY DUTY HAIRPIN LEGS This offering is for a set of 28" tall hairpin legs made of heavy 1/2" thick metal rod. There is a small metal'button' foot welded on the end of each leg. These legs are made differently than is typical. Which can be seen in the photos. This attachment system seems to be stronger/ sturdier. Also, it allows for the legs to be spread or squeezed slightly when attached to get a thinner or wider appearance. These have all been wire brushed. Rust primered, and sprayed with one coat of black enamel. The result is a nice clean finish. However, i may well have missed a few spots, and there will likely be dings from shipping, so anticipate a second coat of black. 4 Antique Vintage Metal Tin & Brass Furniture Remnants Hardware Drawer Pulls
Up for auction are four matching metal antique Victorian era hardware furniture pulls recently found at auction in the Lancaster County. PA area. They are offered in good used condition and feature a nice cartuche form and retains original screws in two of the four pieces. A cleaner pull is on one piece, but one with the original patina is included. This is what was found and all will be included to the winning bidder. The backing is tin and the pull is brass. The backings are approximately 1 3/4" in diameter. Pulls extend approximately 2" from the backing. A very nice find, great for reuse on any piece of furniture or to be repurposed on any steampunk style project. This is a matched set; all are marked Universal#5. They are supposed to have swivel action. But it is catchy on all of them. They will need a little restoration to be fully functional. About 3 1/4" top to bottom. Wheel diameter is about 1 1/4" wide. Not all of the wheels are perfectly round, examples shown in the pictures. I don't think any of them are way off though. One of them has a whole chunk gone, shown in picture#4. Otherwise, diameter is about 1 1/4" wide. All 4 are between 3" and 3 1/4" top to bottom. 3 of the wheels are about 1 1/4" wide, one is more like 1 1/8" None of the wheels are perfectly round any more; all have been used, so they are either worn or have flat spots. This is a set of 4 original. Antique drawer pulls in excellent condition. They were salvaged off and old wooden shop bench or work bench, and has numerous layers of paint on them. They were professionally and carefully cleaned and stripped down to the bare metal, and are ready to paint or use as is. I'm not sure of the metal and not sure if they are prone to rusting. There is no rust, and as I said, they are super clean. They also have all the original slotted mounting screws, and are marked on back Pat Oct 1, 1872. Wonderful estate find-set of 4 mid century modern chair/table legs. Each measures 12 inches and has a brass/gold finish. Not sure what type of metal they are made of but they are weighty and solid-assuming they are steel. See all pics-there is expected wear of the golden finish but this can be painted over easily or left as is. I see no pits. Dents, cracks, rust or other obvious issues-really a solid set that would make any piece of furniture look great. The bases have solid welding of the legs(pics 4 and 10) Each base has 4 screw holes-2 holes at the"V" and another hole on each side for added stability when mounting to a table or chair. Great tapered MCM metal legs. They are 28" long and the brackets are 4" x 4" Super sturdy and easy to attach to any tabletop. The legs are held at an angle when inserted into the bracket. They come with slider tips on the bottom. The gold part looks in very good condition. But there is some discoloration to the chrome tips. Probably not hard to clean them up.
