Up for sale is a rare Neolithic axe believed to have originated from Denmark. This ancient tool is a testament to the advancements in human craftsmanship ... moreduring the prehistoric era. Its unique design and intricate details are sure to captivate any collector of antiques and primitives. The axe has been well-preserved over the years and would make a valuable addition to any collection. Many of the artefacts recovered from this period are axes, which were used to fell trees, chop firewood, and shape timber for construction. The Danish Neolithic axes’ shapes changed from ‘point-butted’, then thin-butted, to finally thick-butted.

3 Archaic Neolithic Bronze Ax Trade Money Adze Laos Lao Artifact Axe
Here are THREE very nice Neolithic Bronze Ax Heads found in Laos. They would have been hafted for fine woodworking. But as bronze would have also been used in trade, dowries or monetary exchange like bars and coins would be in later times. They are 2.25, 2 and 1.75 inches in length. Farmers find these when they plow fields where there were archaic settlements and bring them to the morning market. They clean the crusty green verdigris from them to expose the bronze which is comprised of native copper and tin. NOTE: One of the axes was crimped by a farm implement when plowed up from a field(see second pic) Please note the shipping cost is $10 for Registered International Airmail from BANGKOK. Neolithic Danish stone age thick necked axe, ca. 2000-1500 BC
Neolithic Danish thick necked axe. Ca. 2000-1500 BC Weight: 390 grams. Len gth: 15 cm. Width: 5 cm, height: 2.5 cm Th ese thick necked axes came into use in the single grave period and up to the beaker culture and dagger time(dolktid) This axe. Polished on the front and back, unpolished on the sides, has a real marble-like feel about it. It has lovely patina. Super high gloss. It has damage on the cutting edge. But not enough to detract from the beauty of the piece. This is a working axe. So of course work-re lated scars occur. T o my mind these scars are perfectly respectable. But of course that is a matter of taste. This axe was found by my husband in Halk(south-east Jutland. Denmark) on a rainy day in December.

6000Y.O: UNIQUE AX ADZE AXE DANISH STONE AGE MESOLITHIC - NEOLITHIC FLINT SILEX
NORTHERN EUROPEAN STONE AGE ARTIFACTS BY PALATINA AUTHENTICITY GUARANTEED Description"Core Axe( Ax) with rhombical cross section" Normally a typical Mesolithic artifact. But grinded parts at the upper side showing that has to be made in Early Neolithic times! Core axes normally play the greatest role in the Younger Maglemose Culture(8900-6400 bc) Kongemose Culture(6400-5400 bc. and the older Ertebølle- Ellerbek Culture( Kitchen Midden Culture) 5400-4000 bc. During the early Maglemose period. Core axes came into ever more common use and gradually replaced the earlier flake axes. Core axes were manufactured out of smaller pieces of flint by knapping away surplus stone along the side edges. The new axes used less raw material and were easier to resharpen than the flake axes, which explains why they came to dominate over the older ... moretype. Wear induced polishing along the cutting edge indicates that these axes were probably used to trim and finish wood. This is further supported by microscopic analysis of the cutting edge of axes recovered from the"Ochre Graves" at Bögebakken. Many archaeological finds have shown that core axes were hafted at right angles to the handle in the same way as an adze. Core axes are normally unknown from the Neolithic period! The rhombical type of adze is unsymmetrical to the vertical and the horizontal plane. The side-edges shaped from opposite sides. Making the cross section assume the shape of a rhomb or a parallelogram. The cutting edge is parallel with the sides. The length of this wonderful artifact is 84 mms! Made of Danien flint! Provenance is an old collection. More details will follow the artifact. I guarantee absolutely for the authenticity of this terrific artifact from the Hunter Gatherer Stone Age.
