A piece that is from the original Haverty Furniture Company that we now know as just Haverty's. I believe this dates to around the 20's going by the Logo design. This may have originally been a small buffet or dining room side table as the top drawer had dividers at one time. There also appears to have been another layer of veneer on the top but there still is a nice mahogany top. I think the front is quarter sawn also giving it that striped look. She told my aunt it was handed down to her by/from her mother and that it was over 100 years old. My aunt kept it for a few years and decided to sell it. The dress is located in Bowie Maryland where my aunt resides. I don't really know much about it. It is exactly as pictured with some scratch on top left. Folding mirrors on each side, a full length mirror in the center, and stands 70" tall x 57" wide x 18" deep. Original locks and keys. Made by the Sligh Furniture Co. Grand Rapids Michigan c. 1919. This piece is signed under one drawer in pencil by someone named A. Endema M.G. I looked up the name on ancestry.com and found that a man by that name came from the Netherlands and settled in Grand Rapids Michigan. Perhaps this is the person who assembled the piece as drawer numbers and left or right side are also written in the same hand in pencil. Buyer to verify accuracy of description prior to purchase. Sligh began making a line of case goods from Circassian walnut in 1900. And by 1908 the popular line had become a top seller. Though never considered an“Arts and Crafts” producer. Sligh made at least one notable suite in that style. In 1907 Sligh produced a solid gumwood bedroom suite designed by John E. Brower, with a striking contrasting finish of amber and malachite green. Its functional design was completely unornamented except for circular and oval lily-of-the valley drawer pulls, and delicate lily cut-outs on the bed. Antique Princess Oak Vanity & Mirror from West Michigan Furniture Co. med. wood
This is an antique oak princess vanity made by the West Michigan Furniture Co. I believe it may have been from the early 1930's. But not certain. I inherited it from my aunt who was an antique dealer. I am trying to downsize. This piece is in good condition for its age. The mirror is original and in good condition. Has ornate wood features& unique copper surround skeleton key hardware& locking inside door latch with copper dots with petina on the lower door jamb. Made by Ottawa Furniture Company. Holland, MI between 1907 and 1925, has been in the family for decades. Was going to be restored by grandpa, but passed. Missing sections on only the bottom of one side/rear& leg. So pretty much just need part of the bottom fixed to be stable, however, there were some loose parts in the drawers, but unknown if all here, it is not stand up stable due to lower leg section missing, but is stable if propped up, come look. The 2nd foto is truer to actual color. Big roomy vintage/antique chest of drawers from a Victorian home on Coronado Island in San Diego. Made in North Carolina. Center of American furniture making, at the Giant Furniture Co. in the city of High Point. Style#321. The original drawer pulls are stamped Keeler Brass Company, also located in High Point, NC, style F12. Not sure of the type of wood; it's a dark veneer over dark wood. Two upper shallow drawers and two deep lower drawers. Wood wheels. Double beveled edge top and other lovely details in design. As you can see. Condition: It's weathered as you can see from fotos. There are chips in the wood here ... moreand there. The finish is rough, the top has water spots and other discoloration. The backing on the underside is warped but easily replaced. The lower drawer sticks a little upon opening. This is shabby chic or to be refinished. I am not aware of what kind of wood this is made of, my apologies, again I am not a collector. It is on metal rolling castor wheels. The top of dresser has scroll design piece that can be removed. rare antique1930'S metal dresser by Simmons furniture co.
This is an unusual 4 drawer metal dresser produced by the Simmons furniture co in good condition. It has been painted light blue over the original brown finish which can be seen on the drawers. It is being sold in as found condition so the buyer can either leave it as found or finish it to their liking. The measurements are approximately 40 inches wide by 19 inches deep and 36 inches high to the top and another 3 inches to the top of the raised back. Overall it is in good condition with all the drawers sliding nicely all the casters in place and what I believe to be the original pulls as well. The one advantage to these metal dressers is the ease and smoothness of how the drawers operate. These are very hard to find and especially hard to find without being very rusty. This was in a clean dry environment for years which explains the lack ... moreof rust. The bottom has a very slight amount of surface rust but it is very minimal.
