A very cool old cast iron pedestal base. Marked on the bottom with Heywood Eclipse. The base is 8 and 3/4" in diameter. It adjusts from 10 and 3/8" at the lowest to 17 and 5/8" at the highest. The guy i bought this from told me this was a wall mount stool. I Don't this so. I think it is a floor mount. But as the buyer you can decide! I took pictures both ways. ANy way this is an oldie! It is also very heavy it weights 23 lbs. THe stool wooden seat measure 10 1/2 inches across and is 2 inches thick. It is 24 inches tall from the floor with the seat down. THe only marks i see says Patented. THe metal plate on the bottom is 12 x 12 inches! I really feel this piece came out of an old post office. Please use the Supersize Feature on our pictures at the top and below the description as we consider them to be a very important part of our auctions- our photos show great detail and they are about the next best thing to"being there" Here is another great looking antique cast iron table base or leg– a little bit more ornate than the standard Machine Age Industrial salvage pieces we usually offer. This stand or base stands 20 ½” tall at the top and measures 9” across the bottom of the base. The circular top measures 12” across at the outside edges and between 11 ½” and 11 ¾” across at the inside rim or shelf. One side of that inside shelf is marked SPECIAL and the opposite side is marked SIZE 11 ¾. The center post is topped with an emblem that also tightens up the bolt at the bottom– the emblem or topper is marked ... moreMEDINA. N.Y. W. IDE. Each side has a wonderful scroll work arm to support the top piece. The center post. Pole or leg has a stacked look which attaches to the domed base. I took a picture of how the top is attached with the old original screws on one side from underneath. This stand or table base needs to either have the bolt or screw that runs up the center replaced or tightened up. There is no damage to the piece– no breaks. Cracks, or repairs. There are some areas of old original paint, and some areas of rust coloring. The bottom of the base has the most rust coloring, but there are no areas of pitting or weakness in the metal. We gave this pieces a quick going over with a hard bristle brush and nothing else. With a bit of time and elbow grease, this will be a work of art. This is a beautiful turn of the century matched pair of genuine Kenney Wolkins signed thick cast iron table legs. They are in excellent condition with no breaks or cracks and the black paint is in good condition with moderate paint loss. They adjust from 17.5" to 24.5" and are all original with large nut screw adjustments. Screws and slides all run smoothly and they lock down nice and tight. Here we have a pair of antique cast iron adjustable table legs. These Machine Age legs can go as high as about 20 1/4 inches and as low as about 13 1/2 inches. From toe to toe the feet are about 10 3/4 inches across. These legs are in really great condition with no chips. Cracks, breaks or repairs. I just loved the look and feel of this one- regardless of whether or not you need it for a chair! It tells its own story- advertising on the top. Milwaukee Chair Company Pat. Oct. 20, 1914. It also has the number 21 and the word"Pull" on the knob that comes out of the wheel. This knob is attached to a spring that works quite well- pulling out, and then springing back into place when you release it. The piece is round, made from cast iron, measures 4 5/8" diameter without the tab, and weighs a hefty 1 1/2 lbs. It is in excellent ... moresolid and sturdy condition, with an old black finish that shows wear in some spots, and very light surface rust where the metal is exposed. It's minor. There's a fair amount of dust and dirt on the piece- it could use a good cleaning- I have not tried to clean it in any way. It's a neat old industrial piece of cast iron! The metal legs could make an awesome table base or whatever else you can think of. I'm not sure if they are cast iron or steel but they are heavy which is good for using as a base. The wording'NEW MODEL No 4 CRESCENT' is cast into the metal of the yoke. The piece was found at the sale of a blacksmith shop that operated from the mid 1800s to the mid 1900s through 3 generations. For those who may be interested, the grind wheels, shaft, and babiches are available. This pedestal would make a great base for a desk, dining or console table. The exterior has been cleaned thoroughly of the century of grease and dirt build up. There are no doubt a few nooks and crannies that retain some hardened grease. The whole thing was clear coated on the exterior. As shown. The yoke and base are separate pieces and will ship separately ... morepackaged. The base alone stands 22 1/4" tall, and 20" in diameter at the floor. This section weighs 112 pounds before packing. The yoke, which weighs 49 pounds before packing, brings the total height to 30 3/4" The yoke is 28 1/4" across, and 5" wide at the mounting surfaces at each end. The far right end of the yoke as shown in photo 8, is shown in close up in photo 9. It shows a piece of iron cracked off which was bolted back on at some point. The broken piece is a bolt mount for an add-on tool holder used with the grinder. It does not affect the strength of the piece or the mounting of a table top to the yoke. You can replace the wood with another piece to make the base as wide or narrow ... moreas you choose. This antique cast iron stand/ base dates to the last quarter of the 19th century. It measures 19" in height. 8" across the bottom and diameter at the top is 13 1/2" It is signed on the base SA A Co. RARE Antique Cast Iron Machine Age Industrial Adjustable Mini Table Base Legs
Here we have a rare pair of antique Machine Age industrial table legs by the Chandler company. I have never seen a pair like these. They are smaller and skinnier then the legs you will find normally making them perfect for a coffee table or a side table. These legs are adjustable up to about 17 1/2 inches tall and as low as about 12 3/4 inches tall. When measuring the feet of these legs from toe to toe these legs are about 8 3/4 inches wide. Antique CAST IRON ADJUSTABLE LEGS 16" - 23" Industrial Stand Base
joe calcite ANDREWS CO. INDUSTRIAL AGE CAST IRON ADJUSTABLE LEGS This offering is for a pair of adjustable cast iron legs from A H Andrews Co. The legs have one inch increments cast into the metal from 24" to 32" This apparently assumes a desktop with storage would add 8" to the height. The ACTUAL HEIGHT ranges from 16" to 23"+. They also have a cast iron angle brace. Making them stronger and more stable than some legs of this type. There are a few notes about condition. The hardware holding the braces is newer, not original. The head of one of the carriage bolts used to adjust the height has a slot cut into it(photo 6) This was necessary to dismantle that leg set, as it had been put together incorrectly, and the square under the head was not aligned with the square hole intended to hold it while undoing the nut. ... moreComparing the area immediately above these bolt heads in the same photo, note the right leg is missing part of the plate that should fit over the tab. This does not effect the strength of the leg, but makes the height adjustment more of a 2 handed job. The back of this same area shown in the next photo shows the backing plate on one leg is not as wide as the other. Again, it does not effect the strength. To restate. The legs adjust from 16" to 23" Width from the outer tips of the feet is12" Width of the mounting plate is 9" Weight before packing is 18 pounds.
