Up for auction is an antique hand painted lap or campaign desk recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. It is found in good used condition. It has its original key but missing any inkwell, which probably should be on both sides. The material is in good condition. The box is nicely designed on top in brown, black and gold. Losses of paint, scratches and a few nicks are found on all sides. It is quite dirty and could benefit from a proper cleaning. English Antique Georgian Woodenware Cheese Castor Coaster Trolley Or Tray
This antique Georgian cheese castor. Coaster or trolley is in a graceful boat shape. My antique dealer tells me it is made of mahogany and dates to the late 1700's. It measures 16 1/8" long, 5 3/4" high, 8 1/4" wide and weighs 1 pound 9 ounces. Originally it would have had small wheels on the bottom and was used for large rounds of cheese to be pushed along the dining table. Now, it is attractive filled with fruit or useful on your desk for your mail. This is in wonderful condition for it's age and use. Our passion is taking an old.Unwanted vintage items and transforming them into a unique,useful and decorative items for your home! This sweet little antiQue washboard has been made into a wall cabinet. THE WASHBOARD WAS MADE BY BADGER WOODENWARE AND IT IS THEIR NUMBER 1331 MODEL. It measures 16" X 7" X 5" deep. The 2 shelves are both 4 7/8" The washboard is well worn and shows lots of charm from so much use. Someone repaired a crack on the frame but it does not hamper the cabinet in anyway. I used a pewter like fork handle and antiqued silver hinges. The cabinet is constructed of 3/4" pine and ... morethe back is made of hardwood slats. We sign and date every cabinet. We added a towel bar at the bottom but it can be used for so many things. Some suggestions would be ties.Belts,scarves, leashes and jewelry. They make great gifts for that hard to buy for person! I do not change the original washboard in any way except to add a coat of Minwax Polycrylic for protection. We use nice tight latch closures so we like to suggest you hang your cabinet by drilling 2 screws in through the back of the cabinet into the wall. Up for auction is a vintage antique woodenware Mahogany wood storage box recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. It is found in good used condition, but needs a hinge to be reattached. The lock is stuck in the locked position. A key is not available. The lock will need to be replaced as well. A nice project, the wood is solid Mahogany. The lid has a beveled edge. There are some minor scratches on the surface, but all-in-all, its in good shape. This box features a finger joint dove tail style construction, common from the late 1890's through 1920's. A nice size storage area. A good project. OLD LIGHT WOOD WOODENWARE TRINKET BOX 19TH CENTURY AMERICAN BRITISH UNIV CAMPUS
This unusual old. Wooden box was acquired at an estate sale, so I can make no assurances of its age, origin or history. And, unfortunately, I cannot identify the campus picture on the top of it, though it looks like it could be England, or eastern USA. It features a large, gothic-style building on a campus of a church or university, with a few people strolling on the sidewalks in what looks like clothing from sometime in the 1800's. There are notable signs of much use with crazing on the image. Many surface scratches, two of the 4 feet(that are simply nailed onto the bottom) are loose, and places where the finish has been worn away. The inside bottom half of the box is painted blue. The attached lid appears to have had something glued into it, which I am guessing was probably a mirror. The box measures 8"L x 5.5"D x 2.25H. The ... morelid is attached with metal hinges.

William Morris Antique Fitted Box Tunbridgeware Bands Working Lock& Key– Original Condition A large and beautiful antique box from the 1870’s with English Tunbridgeware marquetry bands. A complete original interior lining and fitted tray, and a working lock and key, in exceptional original varnished condition. The marquetry bands are intact– no chips. Missing pieces or cracks, unusual in itself. The lock escutcheon and the top have a losange shaped mother-of-pearl inlay with delicate marquetry banding around them again in perfect condition. The key works and the box closes securely. All of the hardware is also original. There is minor surface wear basically only visible when the box is tilted to the light. It measures 10 ¾ inches wide. 7 ¾ inches ... moredeep and is 4 3/4 inches high. The interior tray and the box itself are lined in the original burnt orange silk material which is in excellent condition– no rips. No tears, no stains and the bottom of both the box and the tray are covered in a darker patterned felt-like material. This handsome box belonged to the same family since its original purchase in the 1870’s which explains its condition. It has been used to store correspondence and as a jewelry box and looks very stately on a period desk or dresser. This is a very unique. As well as a very old piece. It is completely made of thin wood, curved into a circular roll and held together with metal strips. It carries a brand of 4 letters in the pattern of a clock: placement at 12, 3, 6, 9. They appear to be ALN? Can't make out the last initial. It also has a large"21" brand. It also has one larger nail head, with specific placement, that has the number"42" on it. The thinner upper part, has a thicker circular base. There is no cover and I don't know that it ever had one, though it probably did. I've been researching this item all over the Internet. The best possibilities I've found, is that it's an antique cheese box or pantry"dry measure" box for sugar, salt or grain. There are a few company names with similar containers: Daniel Cragin, Firkin ... moreand my personal favorite, Bentwood. I figured this one actually had something to do with the forming of the"bent wood" into a rounded container. It's a beautiful piece and measures: 6 1/2" in height and has a 5 1/2" diameter. It is very collectible and is considered a"primitive" piece.
