One seated machine gunner, and one charging with rifle with the bayonet. The mold is in excellent condition and has its wooden handle attached. I picked this up at an auction. What a wonderful pastel portrait of a ARTILLARY DIVISION soldier. This was found in my attic when our home was purchased in 1982. Our home had always been owned by the church nextdoor as it was the parsonage. The house has quite a wonderful history as it was used in the underground passage of folks seeking shelter from the Civil war. We feel the pastel enhanced portrait was some sort of payment for helping. We are now selling the victorian home and the new owners do not want this. As they are going modern. My only hope is to find someone to treasure this as we have for 30 years. Thanks. The portrait is oval shaped 25" long and 21" wide. The portrait is in great shape, the frame shows wear.

2 Rare James Dietz WWI Prints Wood Plaque Soldier Wounded Dog Sgt Stubby Battle
This is an antique pair of WWI Plaques by the famous artist James Dietz. There is no signature. As I can see, but have been told it is his work. These are of course not the original artwork. I am not certain of the medium that was used for these wall plaques. But from what I can ascertain. Is that it is imprinted on heavy plastic of some sort. It is not cloth. Or art board. The perimeter of them is rustic tacks as you can see. These are extremely rare. Have not been able to find any similar ones in a lot of research. If anyone has any comments or info, I would be very receptive to them. They measure approx. 18" high x 12" wide. The place is somewhat concave in design. The art work is of WWI soldiers. The two standing together look battle weary and somewhat in a victory stance as they look upon all the destruction and death around ... morethem. The other is very inspiring and heartwarming. As a soldier is in dire circumstances however he is saving his dog comrade who is wounded. And. I believe the dog is a depiction of Sergeant Stubby, the most decorated dog in WWI. Has a Russian label on the bottom of the piece. This figure measures 5” tall x 2 ½” Condition: Excellent. No breaks. Repairs or cracks. WWI WWII 19 1/2" Stringed Jointed Marionette USA Soldier 70% wood Hand-Made Up for bid is a old 19 1/2" Stringed Jointed Marionette puppet of a USA Soldier hand made of mostly wood and some other material. The body under the clothes is solid wood and the shoes are hand carved wood. The person I bought this from at a estate sale a while ago told me it was her husbands and it was from WWI ERA. The piece is in good condition for it's age in my opinion with some wear from use/age/storage and some stains on the clothes. Also there is still small pieces of strings were they go but that will have to be extended or restrung to use. The right hand has a little of the material that was used to make the skin missing, which you can see below.
