Eagle lock was in business from 1833-1954. So the age ... moreof the trunk lies in that time frame. It is adorned with black metal trim and ornate brass accents. This old trunk does show it's age in places. But there is nothing major. A few nicks, and there are a few dents or ding marks in the black metal trim. On the top front you will see there is 2 areas of chipped or worn off wood, a small amount enough to where wood putty filler should be an easy fix if you wish. There is also a very small chip place on the side you can see in pic 6. One of the hinges on the back is missing one button, see pic 9, and there is some separation on some of the brass corner pieces you can see in pic 12. I think I have mentioned every flaw. But please see all the pictures for the best description. For a trunk this old I consider its condition to be normal. Also, this would make a nice coffee table. the top is flat. But it could be used for a variety of things and is such a great find for that eclectic, Hollywood Regency look! I'm not sure but I believe it is vintage because of the handles are very similar to other pieces I've had from the 1940's to 1960's. Plus I can't imagine they would make modern pieces for the purpose of storing silver, but then I may be wrong. The top tray flips open for red velvet-lined storage. The velvet is in great shape- no rips or stains. But it may need a vaccuuming. This portion measures 4.75"tall x 19" wide x 13" deep. The top drawer is false to accomodate for the flip top. The second and third drawers are also lined with red velvet. The velvet is in great shape- no rips or stains. But it may need a vaccuuming. These drawers measure 2 1/8" high x 18" wide x 13" deep. Lastly the bottom doors open up for a 11.5" high x 14.75" deep x 19" wide storage. This piece has been painted recently to an off-white/ ivory/ eggshell white. The beautiful handles are brass. In very good condition except for a small. 2- 3" flaw on the top of the flip lid(please see the photos below) I'm not sure what this is- looks somewhat like a split in the top layer of the wood? It doesn't go all the way through and doesn't look like it will flake off. It definitely does NOT detract from the operation of beauty of it, but I thought it was worth mentioning nonetheless. Antique Asian Hand carved Ornate Camphor Wooden chest trunk
Very beautiful chest. In excellent condition except for a very few scuffs here and there, but I guess this is normal since it is quite old! You should be able to restore it. When you open the chest, it gives off a wonderful smell of camphor wood. The chest is very well made, please look at the pictures. It has 5 different carved images, 1 on each side, and 1 on top. The mechanism to open the chest is in good condition. The chest does not have the locking mechanism in tact. The color of the wood is 2 different shades, light and dark, giving the chest a great depth dimension.Also take note of the beautifully carved"feet" of the chest, it actually depicts the head of some sort of dragonlike creature. It has a really nice patina and good surface from age and use- it displays wonderfully. It is made from wood(pine or poplar) most likely but could be made from another wood and is a nice one with a very unique metal body with a wooden base and lid. It is a sturdy box or trunk and may have been used an an ice box or possibly even safe or lock box. It has a lock of which we found a key that works on the lock- and we are including it with the box. It has a really nice surface from years of age and use- just the way you like to find your country items. The top is painted ... morewith an old dark brown paint and has wonderful wear. The metal(sheet iron or some refer to it as tin) front is riveted to the wooden base and lid and is painted as well- has remnants of paint and areas where paint has worn away- just the way you like to find your antique items. It displays really neatly and could be used for storage. It measures approx 20.75" long and 10.75' wide and approx 10.5" tall. This item is a very nice vintage antique flat top doll trunk. It measures 18" in length. 10.75" in width, and 10.75" in height. This is a very nice cute doll trunk. I t has all the original hardware. There are a couple of cracks in the wood but hot unusual for a trunk of this age. It has good leather handles. It also has a key for the lock that works. Let's start with this lovely Lady- she is an early China Head Doll with a"covered wagon hairstyle" Circa 1850 She is 18" Tall. Pink tinted head and shoulders and was"Hand-pressed into the doll head mold and has a very thick shoulder plate with sloping shoulders and Six sew holes. The pink tinting is even and creamy. No Damage and No Repairs to her head. She is Gorgeous and has extremely high quality facial painting. Doll has all the trademarks of the A.W.Fr. Lister porcelain Factory. Her fine cloth body is likely original. Twine anchors through the sew holes. As you can see there is some staining from moisture from long ago. The shoes are stitched onto her feet. ... moreHer cream arms have separately stitched fingers. Her thigh has a catalog number often seen in museum Acquisitions. She is dressed in a hand stitched period dress with a train which can be bustled up to allow for daily household activities. Her apron is a cute touch to her outfit. She has pantaloons which button at the side. See photo. Lace is coming loose at the bottom and needs some repair. She comes with a chemise. A corset, and petticoat. See photos where there are traces of light stains. Shoes appear to be German replacements which are antique, but not as old as the doll itself. The bottom sole on the right shoe is missing a heel. She has a few paint rubs on the back of her head mostly likely from being laid down. She is in incredibly fine condition for a doll from this period. An incredible of piece of history. For sale is this Gorgeous Vintage Wooden Trunk Covered in a Metal Outer Shell. The outer shell is painted black. The trunk body is in very good condition. The bottom is not rusted and all of the wooden parts of the bottom are attached. There are only a few notable cosmetic issues. The paper on the inside of the trunk has some damage to it(there is staining and some tears) It is also missing the handles on the sides. I dont have the key for the front lock and neither did the previous owner. I assume that is the reason for the detached bottom plate of the lock from the trunk's body. The plate is present and the lock is fully assembled and in good cosmetic condition. If you're looking to use this piece decoratively. The key doesn't matter much anyway. Nice selection of old wooden wardrobe hangers for a steamer or wardrobe trunk. You get what you see. 4 straight pants hangers and 5 coat hangers. These are very old. They have some dust. I just wiped them down with dry cloth so that I wouldn't possibly damage then with water. One coat hanger is missing the tip of the curled edge. So photo. It still sits fine on the wardrobe track I took out out of. Great addition to any old wardrobe or steamer trunk.

Item 14-20344 is a very nice vintage rare wooden flattop travel trunk. It measures 32" length x 16" width x 24" height. It has all the original hardware that is very heavy. It has two latches on the sides. It has the new leather handles. This trunk does not have a key. It has three compartments in the lid that has a Velcro enclosure. t has three trays. One has a lid also with Velcro enclosure. When the lid is open it looks more like a dresser with drawers than a trunk. It has been lined inside with quilt batting a fabric that looks like the old wall paper. My husband and I have restored trunks for the last 18 years and have never seen one like this.
