Antique Primitive Wooden Kitchen Bouquet Advertising Box, Old Shipping Crate
Here's an old. Wooden advertising box up for bids without reserve! It was originally used to ship a dozen pint bottles of Tournade's Kitchen Bouquet to a Western New York mercantile from the Palisade Grocery Products Mfg. Corp in Union City, N. J. It measures 14 1/4" long, 10 1/2" wide, and 9 1/4" high. This shipping crate was made with 1/2 inch thick planks with box joints(similar to dovetails) at the corners. The two sides are marked with the Kitchen Bouquet logo and such, while one end is stamped"Geo. P. Bauer, Johnsonburg" and the other end is unmarked. The graphics show some age but are still in very good shape. The bottom is sound and sturdy but is missing two small corner pieces that don't harm its appearance. Tournade's Kitchen Bouquet, a browning and seasoning sauce, food colorant, and gravy ... morebase, originated around 1880 and is still being manufactured today, minus the"Tournade" name. This old advertising piece would look nice on display in a kitchen, perhaps even with a large bouquet of artificial flowers arranged inside it! It sells to the highest bidder without reserve! Fresh find from a Southern Maryland Farm Estate is this Antique Remington wooden box. Hammer and Nail construction the box is solid and structurally strong. Wonderful patina that just can’t be faked at any cost tells you this isn’t a reproduction but the real deal. While a few have survived the ages must of those are damaged or the labels are for the more common 12 gauge shells. MA, White House Ginger Ale and any examples of similar pieces. While I have found several bottles and the occasional tip tray over the years. MA throughout the 1890's, Standard Bottling& Extract Co. of Boston was officially organized in September, 1899. Although they bottled their own brand of beverages and extracts, their largest customer until 1907 was none other than Moxie! The Lowell facility was housed in an old barn/building that had formerly housed a roller rink(who knew they roller skated in the 1800's? and moved to the Boston building(Harvard Street) in 1904 after a fire destroyed the Lowell facility.
