Large unknown vintage carved wood figurine of an Asian warrior or soldier on horseback Also of unknown origin but many fine wooden carvings come from Indonesia and that would be my guess Approximately 25" tall. 11" long and 3 1/2" wide. He weighs 9 pounds and 7 oz He is a great looking. Eye catching piece The very tip of his thumb has been broken off and he is missing some kind of weapon that goes through a hole in his hand but this is on the back side and is not really noticeable. Antique Wood Drummer Figure Statue Soldier in good overall condition. Its age shows and is a very nice piece for any military collector. Paint is very good considering age and the only real problem is one of the drums has broken off but could easily make and glue a new piece on it. Also the hat has a R in red that I am not sure if it is suppose to have it and may come off with goo gone or might be correct to the piece. Any cleaning or fixing will be left up to the buyer. This is a box and pair of wooden sandals made by people in occupied Okinawa right after WWII(1946) These were hand carved and painted and then sold to the US soldiers for a $1.00 or $2.00(if they could get it) Pieces like this were how the people of Okinawa survived immediately after the surrender of the Japanese to the United States in 1945. My great grandfather was stationed on the island until 1948 and he bought several different items from the natives, both to help the local economy as well as to bring home to his sweetheart(who later became my grandmother! Wonderful wood and celluloid dangle pin The two characters appear to be a World War I soldier and a nurse They seem like precursors to Lego people Each is attached to green string. Which is attached to(I think) a celluloid triangle, which bears an old c-clasp pin finding Terrific piece for collectors of WWI memorabilia. The figures are articulated From top to bottom. The whole pin is 3-3/4" The figures are each 1-1/2" Each has lost some paint I just saw I didn't keep their heads turned correctly toward the camera. But the soldier's eyes are hard to see anyway, hidden by his helmet. NOTE: Her faded eyes were accented, showing in one image.

KAY BOJESEN Denmark Danish WOOD SOLDIER/GUARD (As is) + Postcard w/ guard/house
This classic KAY BOJESEN wood soldier or guard was made in Denmark in the 60-70's. The guard is almost 9" tall. He has"issues" but still looks great! There is a crack through the chest as photos show. There also is loss of paint on various parts of the wood. He stands alone and the arms and legs move freely. It is marked Kay Bojesen on the inside of the right leg. Also included is a vintage 70-80's? large color postcard I got in Denmark in the 80's. It is approximately 7 7/8" long x 7 3/4" wide x 5/8" deep. My items come from Palm Beach Florida estates. All are vintage or antique and as such will have appropriate wear for its age. Up for auction is a FUN LOT of 3. Vintage(70's or so) WOODEN, CLOTHESPIN Style, ORNAMENTS. There is a SOLDIER, a SNOWMAN, and a JUGGLER. These appear to be hand-painted. One has a bit of a foil label on it and I believe these were made in Taiwan. The top hat on the snowman appears to be missing a decorative accent or a spot was re-painted at some point in time- it isn't terribly noticeable and a sprig of holly or something could be attached. Here is a great variety lot of 29 really nice vintage wooden ornaments/figures from the 1970's-1990's. These are ornaments I have collected over the years. They have been stored safely in my smoke free home. I am the original owner of some of them. But most of them I do not know their history. 11 are labelled"Made in Taiwan" but I suspect quite a few more are from there, and the labels have worn off.
