This trunk is an unusual size and shape measuring 36.5 x 21.5 x 26 with a top that is not quite flat but not quite domed either. The trunk is in un-restored condition(see condition details for more information) and a nice find with a large amount of decorative embossed tin on the outside. Wood slats going vertically and almost all of the original hardware and latches. Be sure to view all the photos because the detail pictures will show what the larger pics do not- the embossing is detailed and in good condition, the corner clamps and bindings are very fancy and also in good condition- with a little TLC this will be a treasure for a bidder with a little ... morepatience and care! Up for sale is a beautiful wooden made Jewelry Armoire chest box with 5 drawers and see through glass doors a mirror in the revolving musical carousel. This measures at 18" tall x 12 3/4" wide x 6 1/4" depth and weighs around 10 1/4 lbs. The left side opening door has a revolving musical necklace carousel and mirror back ground. To start the revolving musical carousel just at the center of the carousel is winder turn to the right 5 or 6 times like any other wind up music box. Unfortunately I am unable to name the song that is playing. I have heard before but mind is a blank about the the song. The right side has 5 drawers and all are lined with medium yellow colored felt material. The top drawer is a ring or earring compartment, all the drawers are the same size so you could move the ring drawer to your desired location. The ... moredrawer sizes are 4 3/4" wide X 3 3/4" back X 2 1/2" deep. There is lots of storage area for your jewelry. I am not sure what type of wood this is constructed of but judging by the weight it is possibly oak, and I believe the drawer and door pulls and the hinges are bronze and the carousel brass. This item is in very good condition with the exception of a few light surface scratches scratches on each of the side and the top area. I did notice some kind of discoloration mark on the left side( see photos) and all drawers and the doors opens and closes properly with no rubbing or alignment issues. It also has the original paper lining with a Victorian style picture on the interior lid. There is also one area where it looks like someone wrote their initials in pencil. The exterior leather is intricately decorated with artwork depicting geometrical designs. The leather is fastened with numerous studs or tacks. RARE AUTHENTIC 1800's MORMON Pine Wood Sugar Chest Square Nails Ice Box ORIGINAL
It is our pleasure to bring to auction this fine example of American History. Rare and authentic sugar chest which was later about 1830's converted into an ice chest. Entirely comprised of pine wood, masterfully dovetailed along with square nails throughout to many to picture. This item was a rare item to have in the late 1700's to early 1800's, used as a sugar chest for years under lock and key as sugar was such a prized commodity in those years. Then in the early 1800's converted into another prized item to have owned in the 1800's the ice chest. This item was in the same family for over three generations an LDS Mormon family, one can only assume it has some Utah roots with the early Utah Pioneers. The handles on each side are iron hand forged and in great shape, this piece has been very well cared for and preserved ... moreover the years. Dimensions are 28" tall by 24" depth by 23 1/2" wide, very substantial. As most know these types of items were never thrown away they would find a new purpose as shown here in this rare example of early American History. The bun feet are hand turned. Construction is very fine, the grates are original to this piece with ornate design and the ice box is in working condition, no holes or damage that we could find. The knobs will show some wear and a few repairs over the years certainly nothing to distract from the value in any significant manner, overall in remarkable condition for 200+ years. The feet will show some splits but again very sturdy without wobble they appear to have been made from a hardwood for durability and the weight. It is a true honor to own any type of early Mormon Pioneer item they are extremely RARE and very difficult to find in any condition as most are in Museums. Jewelry Chest Box Oriental Very Large with Lots of Storage Space for your treasures! Condition is in very good. Gently used. Extremely clean! Cream color lacquer exterior has intricate painting featuring swimming ducks/ waterfowl with grasses& reeds accents. Painting is done in pastel colors. Large brass hardware makes the entire chest very eye appealing. Vivid Red interior is a fabulous contrast to the softer hued exterior. Solid wood construction with painted exterior. Exterior is painted in pastel shades of pink. Yellow, blue, green, and brown. The sides have a tranquil, grassy reeds motif. The painting is surrounded by gold piping. Velvety material. ... moreUnderside of lid has a large mirror(7 1/2 in x 9 3/4 in) and an area to the right that is designed to hold necklaces. Base of this top section has two open areas.the largest measures 7 1/2 x 9 3/4 x 1 3/4.inches) deep. The other smaller, open area measures 4 1/2 in x 4 3/4 in x 1 3/4 in. Behind this smaller area are six, long ring rolls. Bottom drawer is an open style as well and measures 11 1/2 in x 8 in x 1 7/8 in deep. Exterior has some not readily noticeable imperfections which are most likely from storage and moving it around. There are some same-shade. Scuff/scratches across the lid, which are not readily noticeable unless you're closely examining the chest. There are a couple of very small darker marks too. Looking at the front.there is a skip in the gold piping to the left of the upper. Brass latch. The back side where the hinges are has crazing to the painted finish if you look at it at a certain angle. The base has four feet that have wear to the painted finish. The bottom drawer is initially a bit tricky to close. However. It just has to be lifted a certain way when closing. Once you get the knack of the way to lift it.it will close easily. Overall this

This vintage wooden box has been layered with hand carved bone and dyed with an Aztec design. The chest measures approx. 3" tall x 4-3/4" wide x 3-1/2" deep with four feet set at an angle extending the width to 5-1/2" The depth to 4" and the height to 4" The hinged lid opens to a red satin interior. Metal plates set with screws interlock the lid and base when closed. The key shown was hidden in the box but it is not the original and was probably added for decorative purposes. It does not lock the box. The designs are dyed in multi colors with geometric shapes. The front has a picture of the sun's rays with a man's head in the center. The sides have pictures of men sitting cross legged holding torches and wearing headresses. The arched lid has pictures of men on bended knee holding a torch and the back ... morehas a picture of a man on bended knee holding a torch in worship before a brick structure. I have included close ups of the feet so you can see the fine porosity of the bone and a close up of the front to see the variations of the dye. This box is in excellent condition with no missing pieces. The interior is clean and unstained. The front motif has some smeared worn dye just near the keyhole. There are 8 knives. 8 butter spreaders, 8 dinner forks, 8 salad forks, 7 teaspoons, 7 soup spoons, and 1 master butter knife. The original wood storage chest is also include. Made of a lightweight/ low density variety of wood with very fine, small finger jointed corner construction and primitive, bent metal/chainlink hinges. Structurally solid/sturdy.yet fragile. You can really feel the age of this piece in your hands. Hinges work good and make a distinctive creaky noise when opening/closing. Five sides of the box have applied paper(bottom has just a little, at edges(see last pic) designed with flowers& leaves(stencilled? in white. Heavy patina to all materials. Interior of lid has a full color picture of a small white man leaning against a cartoonishly large boot(which has a dog's head design on it) and a very large black man dancing while he polishes a more normal ... moresized boot. This is a museum piece! Very old. Original, Arab(wedding/dowry) chest_ This piece of furniture has been used in the Arab world for centuries and is known as a Kuwaiti. Surati, Arab or Omani chest. There are. Or were said to be, three pieces of furniture in an Omani house: The doors, the windows and an Omani chest" knows as the Omani Mandoos or Wedding Dowry Chest(hope chest) These chests are ornate works of art made of wood and brass. Including studs and elaborate inlaid work. Because these homes traditionally had no wardrobes or built-in closets, the chest was of particular importance for storing goods and clothes. Even now, these chests are used for storage of valuables particularly the bridal chest which is often passed down from generation to generation and traces its roots to the early 18th century! History Ships from Europe carried ... morebrass stud as ballast to and from India. Sailors would buy unadorned teak or rosewood and brass ware in India and make these chests on their voyages from Indian ports to the Persian Gulf. Brass adornment was usually a combination of thin brass plate and small upholstery sized studs though several larges studs would adorn the front and top. The front hasp would have a brass boxlock with a tuning fork style key. The chests would usually have 3 bottom drawers and a secret hidden box or compartment. These chests were sometimes used as house storage chests or shipping boxes for transporting goods on carts. Donkeys or camels. Arab chests make superb coffee tables and window seats and they are excellent at the end of a bed. I acquired this piece in the 1970's from a friend of Indian decent who married an American and they lived for years in Persia. India and Kuwait due to her husband's business. They brought it back to the States and my friend allowed me to purchase it from her. I enjoyed it as a coffee table for many years. One of the brass carrying handles is very slightly different so may have been update at some time. I bought this beautiful inlaid wood music box jewelry chest in a quaint little shop in Switzerland in 1989. I am uncertain of the date that it was made. It has been well-cared for and has no chips or scratches. The wooden box measures approximately 5.5 x 3.5 x 2 inches and is blue with a floral pattern and a high gloss finish. And is in excellent condition. The feet and hinge are brass-colored and the interior is lined with red velour. The left side has a space for small jewelry/trinkets/treasures and the right side has a window for viewing the music mechanism. It holds two Amber color solid glass decanters and 4 amber shot glasses. However. There are only 2 shot glasses in the chest. The rest in very good used vintage condition. Decanters measure 3 3/8"wide x 3 3/8"deep x 5"tall. Vintage Wood Jewlery Box with a deeper red than above with several compartments. The top portion comes our for under storage. Vintage wood jewelry chest in very nice condition- 10 3/4" tall x 9" wide x 4 1/2" deep. There are(5) drawers all very clean. The long drawer at the bottom has an embossed flower. All drawers have round pull knobs that I believe are brass(magnet does not adhere) Door has etched long stem roses. Metal pull knob, metal hinges& a magnetic closure. Open this door and there is a swivel to hold(8) necklaces and a ring holder all of which will be reflected by the mirror in the back. This is a very nice. Vintage Medicine Cabinet Chest WOOD Double Door PORCELAIN KNOBS 26"x16 3/8"
This is a vintage double door wooden wall hung cabinet/chest. It measures aprox. 26"x16 3/8" With a depth of 4 1/2" when the doors are closed. It has 2 small porcelain knobs; all hinges are present, but some are in need of new hinge rods, so you may want to replace, or just get new rods(see photos) There are no mirrors(they were broken when I got it) so the front is open. It's in need of a detailed cleaning due to a long storage period, but it's great for re-purposing, refinishing, or just polishing up. Please use photos as part of the description. Doors have a magnetic closure; some areas may need tightening up.
