Vintage Hand Carved Wood Angel This is not a reproduction or mass produced item it is a one of a kind original wood carving Lovely gift for a Graduate. Scholar or Teacher This is a stunning work of art and craftsmanship. The entire body. Head and book are carved from one solid very heavy piece of wood. I cannot identify the type of wood it is made from. I believe my parents brought it here from Poland when they immigrated to the U.S in the 1940's. The wings are intricately carved as a separate piece and uniquely inserted in to the wood to make it look as one piece. It is amazing! This has been very well taken care of throughout the years. There are no chips. Cracks dents or dings. There is one small indentation on the left side of the book and it appears to be a part of the makeup of the single piece of wood that it was carved from. Please ... morenote that in the photos you will see some light and dark spots. It is the shading and natural aging of the wood. The camera really exaggerates this. When you see it in person it is very subdued and looks like natural aging wood and shading. Please enlarge the photos to experience the artistic sculpting and carving detail. this is a stunning antique hand carved wood folk art cherub/ angel. it is completely hand cut from wood and hand painted with a vibrant assortment of rich color. it has a semi gloss finish and is a male cherub with large stylized wings coming from the back of the head. it has a nice aged look but almost all paint is still present. Antique Carved Wood Carving Angel Cherub Santos Gothic Wall Art Hanging
Solid wood carving measures 8 3/4 inches across and 7 1/2 inches from top to bottom. It is about 3 1/4 inches thick. From back to front of face. It weighs almost 1 1/2 lbs. It's in very good condition. It has a few pinholes around the top of the head. Also. Some of the paint is chipped off on the edges. There is a metal screw in the back for hanging.

Stunning Antique Wood Relief Carving WINGED ANGEL CUPID Master Carver SCALLOP
For your Bidding consideration in this Auction is an absolutely beautiful wood carving. Done obviously by a Master Craftsman, of either a Winged Angel or Cupid. It appears to be quite old however I do not know it history or much more about it than what I can show you in the photos- which none the less is the real story as it is just amazing. It is basically a relief carving, done in a 3 dimensional perspective and most likely was designed for hanging. It measures@ 20 1/2" wide x 15" Tall x 5 1/4" Deep. It appears to have 4 pegs through it, most likely where it may have been hung from in much earlier days( The Grain in the wood is gorgeous with fantastic patina. I can not say for sure what the type of wood is but it is extremely hard and dense- possibly rosewood or mahogany? The flowing hair and feathers are done in wonderful ... moredetail, the features in the face are very delicate as you would anticipate of an Angel or Cupid. The carved scallop design behind the head may be intended to show a halo or some other sort of emanation from behind. There is a definite Scarf around the knock, ending in a knot below the chin with end dropping down in front. The number"6" is penciled on the back indicating it may have been a part of a larger carving( There is a modern eye hook on back which has been added for hanging purposes(removable if you choose) One antique screw to the right side on back which I can not detect a purpose for and a small metal plate with 2 antique screws used, it appears, to possibly keep the carving from splitting. I also note a few areas where a patch of some kind may have been used to patch some of the peg holes referenced earlier or even a small crack(shown in photos) Shipping weight is 5-6 pounds and I will use a box@ 24" x 20" x 12" Really a significant find and one that will be the center piece of any collection! EARLY ANTIQUE ESTATE TREASURE Angel Nativity HAND CARVED OAK WOOD FIGURAL PANELS
EARLY ANTIQUE ESTATE TREASURE NATIVITY ANGEL SCENE HAND CARVED OAK WOOD PANELS The wood looks light because the sun was shining on it(the wood is actually darker like in the pictures of the full panels) A recently acquired treasure out of a prominent Photographer's estate in PA. There are two panels and both are hand carved from oak. Both scenes are religious with one having an angel and the other depicting the Nativity. The carving is done in high relief and the two panels seem to come alive. They are joined together by reversible hinges(old. But not as old as the panels) These panels are framed in carved oak wood. The framing is mortise and tenon with wooden pins(that slightly stand up, above the wood frame, from shrinkage) The panels are positioned within the framing but the wood has shrank slightly over the years and from the back, ... moreyou can see light along the top edge(not really noticeable) Each framed panel measures approximately 20 1/2" to 20 3/4" high on one side(which would be the hinged side) and slope down to about 15 1/4" high. One panel measures about 14 1/2" across and the other is about 14 1/8" across. The framing is about 9/16" thick. I'm pretty sure these framed panels were once part of something else because there are indentations on the top edge where some other hardware must have been(only seen when looking down at the top of the framing, on the shorter end) I have taken many photographs and will let them speak for themselves. They are in very good condition with only the expected wear, from centuries of being in existence. Exactly how many centuries, I don't know for sure but I feel comfortable saying at least two(and probably more) The quality and workmanship is undeniable! This listing is for a wood antique architectural shelf/ fragment from a demolished church on Long Island in New York. It has been repainted years ago but the angel has not been touched up. She is perfect. This can be hung from the back there is a long piece of open wood in the back which can be used to hang this. The size is 21" high by 14" wide by 9" deep. This is a good size wood shelf with the angel that adds such depth and presence to this antique architectural church fragment. This is a really great historical piece in very good condition. It has been in my home for about 20 years and it was purchased from an antique shop on the east end of LI just as you see it now. This auction is for three small antique Italian Cherub or Puti Carvings from the Victorian Era. The first two Angels are hand carved from wood and the third ... moreis plaster. In order of our photographs. The first wood carving measures 6” tall by 6 ½” wide and 4 ¼” deep and is from the mid to late 19 th century. This carved wood Puti or Angel has an old. Worn painted surface, which is guaranteed to be original. As you can see in our photographs, his left wing-tip was broken off, many, many years ago, but there are no other problems or any restorations. Measuring 10 ¼” long by 5 ½” tall and 4” deep, the second Wood Cherub Carving is from the late 19 th century or very early 20 th century. This hand carved wood cherub has acquired an old dark patina. And is in perfect untouched condition. The third and final piece in this auction is a circa 1900 Plaster of two Angels with open mouths, like they are singing. The gold gilt& painted surface on this 5 ½” long by 4 ½” tall and 2 ½” deep Plaster is original however, there is some paint flecks and a few small chips to the plaster. Beautiful antique looking Angel Urn. Everlasting Angels. The Urn measure 10.5" high with a 3.5" wood lid that has a brown rubber seal. Measures approx 19" around the middle. Clean inside and out. Made in China. There are no other stamps on this piece besides the made in china sticker on the bottom of the Urn. Has 8 Angels on the Urn in 3 different positions, top and bottom of Urn are hand painted in Gold. Have your loved one with the everlasting angels.
