These are 4 boxes of vintage sewing thread on wooden spools. I collected these quite a few years ago. And I thought it was time to pass them on to someone else who could use or display them. The J&P Coats boxes are in the best condition, and they are also complete and full of the original thread completely unused. The colors on those are#16 Ecru and#23-A Nugrey. I also have a box of Pilgrim thread which is a little rough, and it still has some of the original thread spools inside, plus a few that look similar but are a different brand. Last I have a box of Belding Corticelli with some of the original spools inside in the color antique gold. My home is smoke-free and pet-free. Please ask any questions before placing a bid. Up for sale. Two(2) vintage wooden monotype foundry boxes. These were used to ship monotype font to print shops in the 1930's-1940's. They are beautifully crafted with dove tail joints and no nails or screws. I personally re-finished one of these and the wood was absolutely beautiful. Not sure what the wood is but it's in great shape and built to last. Inside each box, the metal separation tabs slide out and can be removed. The wood slats can also be removed to accommodate a completely empty box that can be used for storage, collectibles, decorations or as gift boxes. This item is a container that is/was used to send good fortune wishes to family/friends or as a pet cricket box(also Good Luck) These containers are made of carved wood and represent the Calabash Gourd. I do not know if these are contemporary: they do appear to have some age to them. There is a note in one of the containers. It is chinese(of course) and is on some type of paper or cloth. I can't be sure. The"gourds" have chinese writing on them and each has two red circles. They also have"string or yarn" with a wooden bead and a handpainted face(cat? Please see all of the photos. Antique/Vintage Tool Tap & Die / Pipe Fitting tools in wooden, hand made boxes!!
This is an awesome set of what I believe to be antique tools. I am not positive what the tools are exactly. But have been told to list as tool and die or pipe fitting tools. When my parents bought our old farm in the 1970's. These were found under some old piles of hay in a corner of a falling down barn. They have been in the shed ever since, and we are currently cleaning out the property to prepare it for sale. The boxes are clearly home made with the inserts for each tool being rough carved inside. All boxes have hook and eye closures. The boxes are not all the same size.the larger ones vary by 1/4" to an inch or so. And there is one smaller box. Two of the boxes have a strip of faded finish on the top. A couple have some discoloration in other areas. There are scratches on multiple boxes. There are holes and/ or cracks on at least ... more2 of the boxes. One of the boxes has only 2 pieces of the 6 areas carved for tools. Some of the tools have a rust on them. But none seem to be too rusty to brush up and use. Surface rust. These boxes are heavy.total weight of all the boxes is 54 lbs. We estimate shipping weight to be 60 lbs. at minimum. Will be packed into one box. Box One: 18" x 5.5" x 1.5" 5 lbs. Small box. One tool shorter than space carved for it. Tools both say WELLS BROTHERS COMPANY. GREENFIELD MASS, LITTLE GIANT. Up for bids is this lot of 2 antique wooden Remington Ammunition boxes/ shipping crates. Structurally sound. Old worn edges with finger jointed corners. No missing/ broken boards. Boxes had been painted green long ago and used for hardware bins- original lettering is still faintly visible under the paint. Vintage Rising Sun Stove Polish Wooden Shipping Box Antique Boxes 1880-1916
From an estate here on the west coast came this very old RISING SUN STOVE POLISH BOX and boy has it been used.I have taken many pictres so you can see the exact condition of the box.It measures 22 by 10.5 by 6.5 and weighs 7.6 pounds before packing it.It has many. Many worm holes and also a piece of wood is missing from the back right hand side, but that only add more character to this primitive box.I dont know if it originally had the insert at one end but the wood matches to a T just the same.They used tongue and groove on the bottom and one side.There is somthing stamped on both sides but I couldnt make it out and I didnt want to ruin the great patina! For sale is a lot of old vintage wood boxes. The little blue cigar box appears to have a paper hinged lid and vintage advertising on the inside and bottom. 5.25" x 3" x 2" Weighs 3 oz. The dark dovetailed box has a sliding lid and no apparent markings. 6" x 4.75" x 4" Weighs 9 oz. The Invincible box is from Penn-Getty's. It held Long Filler Mild Cigars. It has a hinged lid which is slightly sprung as it doesn't sit flush. 8.5" x 6" x 2.5" Weighs 8 oz. Next is a wooden Kodachrome Slide box. It is wooden but has some sort of vinyl covering.
