This auction is for an old milk crate. It is made of metal and wood. Really solid and has some weight to it. It has the advertising of McGiffen Farms burned or etched into the sides. Both long sides have the name. It measures approx. 15 by 12 inches by 6 inches tall. I looked up the farm and that only information I could find was on a McGiffen farms in Indiana that dissolved in 1965. Thanks for looking.

VINTAGE COCA COLA WOOD CRATE WITH A DOZEN 26 FL OZ GLASS BOTTLES This is a wood crate from 60’s that holds twelve family size glass bottles; each bottle has a capacity of 26 fl oz. The crate is 17 x 12 ¼ x 5 ½ inches. The short pieces of wood are a little bit thicker than the long ones, the base and the dividers are also made out of wood, there are twelve compartments total. The pieces of wood were nailed and have metals bands wrapped around the edges to make it more durable. These metal strips are rusty. The crate has two open handles one on each end to carry it; the advertisement is found all around the crate with red letters on yellow background. The yellow paint and the advertisement have come off. However some it is still readable. Inside there is a mark next to“Coca-Cola” that says: 1960 CHATTANOOGA CASES” Eight of the glass ... morebottles have embossed letters that say: CONTENTS 1 PT. 10 FL. OZS. REG. U.S. PAT. A great find from my personal collection straight from the attic. Circa 1920's yellow wooden wing 6 pack carrying caddie. Pop up wooden handle that is still fully intact. Metal banded edges hold it together tight and help support the weight of the bottles. There is some splitting in the wooden ends as pictured. The advertisement is printed in red on all 4 sides. Front and rear read. Drink coca cola in bottles. Sides read. Pause. Go refreshed coca cola trade mark reg. U.S. pat. Off. And display the winged hand holding a coke bottle. Another one of my estate sale Relics. The crate is farm fresh.And needs a detailed cleaning. The box is dirty,and the only thing i have done is wipe it down with a dry cloth. This piece needs some help,and is in poor condition. Maybe it can be saved,or taken appart and used as a wall piece. The fronts say Loose Wiles Biscuit Co,Bakers of sunshine busicuits. The side of the box says Hubbards wire sewed folding box pat june 28 1828 and patents pending,Made only by puffer Hubbard MFG Co minneapolis,Minn. USA 2-19. then in crayon it says W Girnac Marine City. I think the 2-19 is a date code for Feb 1919,and Marine city is in Michigan,and is also where i got the crate from. The flip down bottom is nearly gone. The lower portion of the crate which was sitting in the dirt floor barn is also in poor condition. The crate still folds flat,and is a ... moregreat Idea. I know that collectors really love the lids to these boxes,and you don't see the boxes hardly ever. This is actually the first i've come across in a very long time. It is in poor condition,and needs cleaning,and possible restoration. Or maybe taken apart and cleaned adding a coat of paste wax to the lettered portions. I leave it to the buyer to decide. It looks like there was paints spilled on it. Other than that it is in great shape. The crate measures about 16.5 inches long by about 6 inches tall by about 12 inches wide.
