This is a nice vintage plastic milk crate. Red colored. Marked"Prairie Farms Dairy" On two sides. Has a date 9 84(Sept 1984) I am no expert on old milk crates but will describe as best I can. It looks to me like it is complete and in good condition except for 3 small cracks in the bottom/floor(see photo#5) Still sturdy and solid. It is about 13 inches wide. 13 inches deep and 11 inches tall. It weighs about 2 1/2 pounds Some wear and aging. But not too much, it is still good and sound. I took lots of photos so see the photos for condition and e-mail your questions. It is vintage. Is unaltered by me except for a light cleaning, and will look even better if properly cleaned. This auction is for an old milk crate. It is made of metal and wood. Really solid and has some weight to it. It has the advertising of McGiffen Farms burned or etched into the sides. Both long sides have the name. It measures approx. 15 by 12 inches by 6 inches tall. I looked up the farm and that only information I could find was on a McGiffen farms in Indiana that dissolved in 1965. Thanks for looking.

Vintage Tudor Brand Label Grape Crate for Thompson Seeless Grapes.
Hello, This auction is for a vintage grape crate used by Tudor Brand Farms in California to package grapes for shipping. Vladimer Tudor Sr. immigrated to the United States from an island called Hvari. Off the coast of Croatia in the 1930s to start the Tudor Farms. Tudor farm started with 20 acres and is now 2000 acres and is still run by the decendents of Vladimer Tudor. The Tudor brand label is shown in the first 4 pictures. It is in good shape with no tears and nice bright colors that have not been faded but it does show some wear. You should be able to see it for yourself by looking at the pictures. These Table grapes were Packed and shipped by Dan Tudor and Sons in Delano, Ca. Picture 5-7 show the sides of the box as if you were turning it around. The ends of this box are obviously wood. The sides and bottom are covered with cardboard ... morebut seem to have wood inside the cardboard. If you look at the pictures of the ends you can see the nails that have been put into the crate to hold the corners of the boards together. You can also see the wood if you look closely to the pictures of both ends of the box. There is a thin piece of wood that is the side of the box visible on both sides of each end. The bottom of the box also has some thin wood in under the paper or cardboard. Picture 8 shows the inside of the box and you can see some faint circles as the crate has been used to store canned goods. Picture 9 lets you examin the bottom of the box, note that there is some small staining in the right lower corner, and documents that it was produced by a package making company named Maxco Inc in Reedley, CA that is still in business today. This box was one of the later boxes of this type and I believe it to be from the early 1980's. The box measures 17 inches long, 14 and 1/2 inches wide and 5 inches deep. It weights almost 3 pounds.
