This listing is for three(3) Vintage. Munising Wood Dough or Salad Bowls, including one large serving bowl and two smaller bowls. The bottom of the large bowl signed Munising. The bowls are slightly oblong. They have a medium brown maple finish. The serving bowl measures 11 1/2"by 11" and 3" high- The two smaller bowls measure 7" by 6 1/2" and 1 3/8" high. With some slight variation in measurement between the two. Combined the set weighs 2 lbs 1.5 oz. All three bowls have a fantastic even finish. There are some light marks from use and storage. But none that are notable without close inspection. One of the two small bowls has a small factory split in the wood, as seen in the photos. There are no notable chips or cracks on the other two bowls. This will make an excellent set for decor or use. For your consideration is an Authentic Antique Chinese Rice/Grain Measure Dou. It is interesting and unusual with its primitive and distressed look from years of use. In great condition for its age. Rice/grain Dous were once used by street vendors in outdoor markets in old China. It was the measuring/scale tool of choice. The price of rice was based on how much the wooden dou held. Not by weight. This fabulous. Rustic piece has dovetailed wooden corner joints and interesting hammered metal hardware reinforcing the corners. Chinese characters/hieroglyphs adorn the side. It appears to be made from a sturdy wood. It was built to last! Previous owner has placed furniture protective round disc's on the bottom; these are easily removed if you don't want them. This auction is for a vintage wood bowl and vintage doll dress! I painted the bowl with a"wash" of paint.I wanted it to look opaque.I didn't want alot of paint on it.I then stained it.I would call the color a dark blue/gray! It is large approx. 13" across the top. little dress is sweet at only about 6"cute in the bowl or hang it from a bathroom cupboard. Condition of the bowl has some scratches.few paint splatters around rim(nothing bad) Last pic shows a line but it is a scratch not a split.I let the inside natural! Antique Wooden Dough Bowl This wonderful primitive wooden bowl has beautiful wood grain and is nicely made with a decorative 1" band around the rim. It appears to be round in shape when you first glance at it but is actually slightly oval in shape measuring 14.5" across by 13.5" by about 4" tall. The top rim is about 1/2 of an inch thick. Overall it is in great condition especially when considering the age. View a tiny worm hole on pic 7& 8 that actually adds a little character. There is a crack in the wood that is staying intact that you can view in the last few pics. A fabulous bowl purchased from an older estate. I am showing many pictures to help describe it best. This antique wooden dough bowl is a nice large size measuring 13 1/4 inches long by 12 inches wide and 3 inches deep. There are circular lines on the back from being hand turned( a guess as I am not an expert) There is a lip at the top. The patina is irregular which I think gives it character. Outstanding original hand made wood trencher dough bowl in as found condition. You can look at the lines all handmade. Owner said its been in their family since before world war 2. Winner can have family info. Bowl came from old house in south side of Virginia it was actually screwed down to a sideboard in the kitchen. Wonderful style piece. It has a hole in the center of the bowl. Around the hole are 4 screw holes. But otherwise in wonderful primitive rustic condition. ANTIQUE AFRICAN CARVED WOOD BOWL& PEWTER WOMAN NATIVE TRIBAL PRIMITIVE FOLK ART An absolutely gorgeous African antique carved wood bowl with a stunning and unusual applied pewter figure of a native African woman at work with a large pestle and mortar and showing superb detail. The whole of the bowl including the pewter is amazingly tactile to the touch and to handle and has a beautiful patina. Two carved wooden handles and completely carved from one piece of wood. I have no idea what type of wood the bowl has been made from but it has a lovely wavy grain and is just amazing to handle, this of course is also due to the fine craftsmanship in the bowls making. The bowl is in mainly excellent condition just having a tiny chip to one of the handles ... moreouter edge and some expected minor surface marks commensurate with age and use and which only add to the bowls character and with the many pictures giving a good representation of condition and where it can be judged on it's own merit. Has a fabulous"sunburst" graining on the interior of the bowl. Bowl is unsigned but there is old dry glue on the bottom that may be from a label that is no longer there.
