But it is minimum 120 years old and could be much older. It has been in the family for that long minimum as my great grandmother used it as a dough bowl. The bowl has cracks and the metal rim is seperated from the wood in spots. The patterns and imperfections in the wood are very cool. Please check out the pictures. Antique Vtg Hand Carved Country German Primitive Walnut Redwood Wood Salad Bowl
Hello There- This hand carved German Bowl is truely spectacular! It is a huge approx. 17" at the outside. 16" at the inside, weighs about 4 Lbs. Lots and Lots of detail, you can see the care and love that went into this bowl. There is one crack that goes all the way through, and looks to have had a try at a repair. I am fairly certain that a skilled Wood Worker could fix the crack, and the bowl could be fully usefull for anything.The crack only goes partialy down the inside, but looks longer split on the bottom. It would still work for holding big items. One more crack is in the bottom, but the wood is very togethere at the split. I will show you the pictures, and then in case the writting on the bowl can't be read I will write it out for you at the bottom. All the writting is in English, except inside the bowl, near the crack ... moreit reads"Guten Appetit" in a Old English style of writting. On the spoon there is a carved baby angle. I have not cleaned this bowl, it is how I found it and is actually a little"sticky" for some reason. I believe that it is fine true example of Primitive German Folk Art! One of many wood dough bowls that I will be listing. This one is shaped in an oval and was hand made out of one piece of wood. It measures 17 inches in length by 9 1/4 inches in width. Inside measurements are 15 1/2 inches by 8 3/4 inches. The base of the bowl is 4 1/2 inches by 2 inches. On the bottom at each end are 2 notched indentations for carrying. There is also a carved hole on one end with a string through it for hanging. Lots of character with great patina. No cracks in this bowl. 1940s Primitive Wood Dough Bowl Butter Hand Carved Marked Munising 2nd 10.75 x
This is a a great old butter bowl. The different shades of natural aged colors. In a soft yellow aged wood with the scratched signs of use and a split as shown that hopefully is simple to repair-can be used as decorative in your old country kitchen-would look fantastic with bright green apples or sunny yellow lemons for Spring into Summertime. Typical age and dry old surface cracks. Yes there is that one crack as its old and has been used showing lots of character. The bowl is oblong and not perfectly round measuring 11 1/2" x 10 3/4" measurements taken from the outer most points. It has the Munising 2nd mark on the base in that calligraphy style that dates it circa 1940s. It is about 2 1/2 inches deep, perfect for mixing butter, dough or simply decorative.

I can't identify the wood but it appears to be from a burl of some sort-very wavy grain like a tiger maple I tracked down some info on Munising( label brands and this appears to be the third version. Acquired from an elderly estate in overall very good condition, with normal age wear to the paint. The outer side of the bowl up to the top edge is painted black with the inside of the bowl in a sagey/teal color green. PRIMITIVE OLD WOOD DOUGH BOWL - LOTS OF CHARACTER & HISTORY
This is a really old wood dough bowl. It has a crack in one side so I would guess it would be good for display only. Very heavy with a wide lip. There is some'green' paint residue on the underside which I tried to capture in picture#3. It is about 3"T and measures one way 12-1/4"D and the other way 13-1/4" As you can see it has been heavily used and needs a break as a display or perhaps holding fruit or veggies. If only bowls could talk I'm sure this one would have great stories to tell. Don't know what the wood is but it is a light color and has a burn mark on the inside. Shipping $12.00 USPS Priority.

I don't know much about this item but it is very unusual! It is some kind of mortar pestle in the shape of a canoe! U can tell it was used due to the wear on both pieces. It has etched marks on each side but no signature that I could see. It is 6 by 2 1/8 inches in size and a solid piee of wood! Looks indian but I can't be positive! Wood Primitive Rustic: 3 Munising Bowls, 1 Great Alaskan Bowl, 1 Mortar & Pestle
Please read below for descriptions of each item. Vintage. Large Wooden Munising Bowl, 10” x 11” Oval. Rustic farmhouse-style wooden bowl by Munising, measuring approximately 10” wide by 11” wide by about 2” deep. I don’t know if it was used for chopping, butter or salad, but it’s too small to be a dough bowl. Shows signs of having been well-loved and purposeful for many years, but has no cracks or chips. It’s sturdy and intact. Shows an antique-like patina, a LOT of scratch marks, a little pitting, and some variegation of the color on the inside. I took a few similar(same angle/side) photos with the flash both on and off, to give a better idea as to color. I found this in a thrift store, so I don’t know what has been in it, and I have not cleaned it because I don’t wish to alter the patina that took so many years to acquire. It doesn’t smell ... morelike smoke(and we smoke nothing here) It just smells like wood to me, no surprise there. Munising Woodenware was in business from 1911 to 1955, so this bowl is at LEAST 57 years old, but based on comparisons to other bowls I’ve seen listed, it’s probably much older than 57. No way to tell for sure, I suppose(unless maybe if one’s an expert on these things, which I am not) I took MANY photos but this listing allows only 12. Antique Primitive 12" Wood Bowl - Very Nice
The wood grain on this bowl is wonderful. I don't know what type of wood it is but it is very pretty and rich looking. The outside has been varnish but the varnish is coming off. It would be easy to remove the rest. It looks like there may have been varnish inside too but I'm not sure. It is 12" in diameter and 3 1/2" deep. It is not quite round but it's just slight and very hard to tell. Be sure to look at the other wood bowls I have listed.
