Pair of Kwan Yin Carvings Standing on a Lotus These lovely old wooden carvings of Kwan Yin. They are hand painted in gold. Dark ruby, dark emerald green and black. They are beautifully carved and make quite a statement together. They have been standing in the corner of my breakfast nook for quite some time and I always receive compliments on them. They both have wax seals on their backs. I believe they are both carved from Elm but I am not positive. Antique oval wood frame painted antique gold with print of boys fishing and dog
This is an oval antique gold frame with a charming print of two boys and their dog fishing at a brook. The frame is 10 1/2 inches by 8 3/4 inches. The print has an embossed oval matte. It has the original glass and wood backing. It looks like someone added the wire for hanging recently. No chips. Cracks or splits in the frame, but the paint does have wear(see photos. This is the perfect size frame if you want to display an 8 by 10 oval picture.

This is a lovely looking Cossor Melody Maker valve radio from the 50s or 60s. It has been hand-painted amateurishly with flowers. It would perhaps best function as a vintage decorative item. Unless you fancy the challenge of bringing it back to life. Item doesn't work(no idea why! and the back panel is not fixed- there's just a small screw lodged there to hold it in place) The wooden case has been hand-painted by the previous owner. The case has lost some of the very top layer of the wood along the central seam area but is structurally very sound. The wood has quite a lot of marks and scratches(see top corner for some slightly deeper ones) and some large scuffs/patches of wear. Particularly at the side. Antique Reverse Painted Bird on a Wood Framed Tea Tray-Retro from the Get Go!
Antique Reverse Painted Tea Tray This auction is an antique reverse painted wood and glass tea/serving tray. This is a"painted on glass" picture of a peahen in shades of gold and the background is painted whites and browns to create a marble effect. This tray had been repaired when I got it. All I did was put some white paper between the painted picture on the glass and the wood back to slow the wear on the paint and to hopefully britghten the picture a bit. I did clean the glass because it was really dirty and I added to the back of the tray some buffers so the screws on the back wouldn't scratch any surface they would come in contact with. This would be a wonderful shabby chic desk for a lap top in a dorm room or a small apartment. Offered for sale is this vintage European wood hand carved and painted man. The man's hat front edge was chipped off and has minor repair. And his left shoe had been repaired, no other flaws noted. The carved storyboard has become a 20th century expression of traditional Palau Arts& crafts. This represents a scene from a Palau traditional legend. It is nice older example in excellent condition. Once there was a youth of Peleliu and a maiden of Arkabesang who fell in love with each other and decided to hold a tryst on Ngemelis Island. Which lies somewhere between the two islands. According to their promise. They met on Ngemelis on the night of the new moon. They discussed plans for their future late into the night. When the maiden awoke the ... morenext morning. She found that her skirt had disappeared. She searched over the whole island with the aid of her lover. But she could not find the skirt. Alongside the place where she had been sleeping. However, could be seen the marks that the turtle’s flipper made in the sand during the night. The maiden was finally forced into gathering leaves of the coconut palms for another skirt. After remaking the garb. She bid farewell to her lover with the promise of meeting on the island again during the full moon. On the appointed evening. 1950' s Ceiling Painted Wood Tiles From An Old Chinese Restaurant
Vintage wood ceiling tile that came from a restaurant that closed a number of years ago. It operated in Hamilton Ontario on Upper James St. It operated from the 50's to the early 80's. The building is still there but has been expanded. Renovated and is now a wellness, rehabilitation, chiropractor centre. The tile is from when the restaurant first opened to the public in the 50's. It is made of thin plywood, about 1/8" thick. Size is 17 1/2" x 17 1/2" The pattern on the tile is a textured and a bit raised. There are maybe 80-100 of this design if you are interested in multiples. Some of the tiles are stamped on the back"Taiwan B.O.C. This particular tile is not stamped. Shipping costs are estimates.
