The bowl was turned from a single piece of wood. 1/2" thick. It is slightly out-of-round. Measuring 13" x 13 1/2" x 4" tall. There is a bit of red color stain on the bottom. WONDERFUL VINTAGE MUNISING WOOD BOWL 13 X12 CREAM OUTSIDE PAINT RED FEET UNIQUE
This is a wonderful and unique old wooden bowl with the original creamy. Almost a pale yellow, paint and red feet with a natural wood inside. It is 13 by 12 1/4 inches, slightly out of round, and was made by the Munising company and is marked that way. It stands about 5 1/2 inches tall counting the feet. It was found recently at a local estate sale and comes as found-nothing has been cleaned. Under the use stains on the inside, the wood has a nice grain and looks as though it could be maple. I could not find any real damage, besides marks of normal use, except that one foot has been glued on and there are glue remnants which I have shown in a picture. A wonderful find! Large(11 inch diameter) Munising bowl. No cracks or major nicks. A primitive stainless steel chopping tool-with a cheese slicer blade(cast iron handle) Also is a smaller bowl. Old Vintage Wood Bowl Hand Turned Painted Excellent Patina Munising? 13" NR
Up for consideration is this delightful hand painted. Hand turned wood bowl. Has great patina and measure 13" diameter. Pic#3 shows paint loss in the bowl. There are no cracks in the bowl. Age: I have no idea it's age. So will not even attempt to label it as an antique. It appears to be old but I am really leaving that up to you, the buyer. I photographed the bottom which show small holes which I presume are from some type of lathe. Again, I'm no expert. Picture number 4 and 5 show the true dark wine color lacquer on the bottom and it's wood texture. Someone suggested it might be Munising. I make no claim as to origin or age. Bowl measures 10 3/8- 10 5/8" out of round diameter and is 3 1/2" deep. The wood is 1/2" thick- very sturdy. The bowl is painted red on the outside and at one time had three feet. The feet are missing. Otherwise. The bow is in good condition, has a nice patina. There is one very fine crack in the rim. It is marked on the back'Munising' Munising Wood Products operated in Munising Michigan from 1911- 1955. And crafted many wooden products, including salad bowls like this one. ANTIQUE MUNISING WOOD DOUGH BOWL BEAUTIFUL PATINA SIGNED ON BOTTOM 1911-1955
Beautiful patina on this antique Munising wood dough bowl. The Munising company was in business from 1911-1955 in Munising Michigan. Many wooden bowls were created here. This bowl is approx. 11" in diam measuring the top edge and approx. 3" high. the name Munising is etched into the bottom of the bowl. Hopefully you can see the name in the photo I took. There are some black marks in the bowl and on the bottom which I didn't want to take off, as I would disturb the patina. I believe it would have been used as a dough bowl and according to all the write-ups on these bowls they seem to be made from maple. This one has very nice grains in the wood, lots of scratches from use.

Included are the(3) vintage wood piece pictured, the rolling pin is stamped Made in France. My research indicates that the Munising plant closed in 1955, making this bowl around 60 years old! up for sale* Very nice vintage set of two Munising out of round wooded bowls. I believe they are maple and both have the Munising mark on the bottom. One nests in the other nicely as it is a bit smaller. apprx measurements are. 10 7/8 x 10 3/8 x 2 1/2 11 1/4" x 10 1/2" x 2 3/4" No chips or cracks to the wood just some normal scratches from use. I have conditioned with grapeseed oil as it gives a great non sticking treatment to wooden kitchenware. Awesome bowls! ~please note some pictures do have shadows across the bowls~

What a fabulous find! These are two small. Fabulous slightly oval shapedm thick wooden salad or fruit bowls turned from a solid piece of wood with rounded edges from Munising, Michigan. I haven't found anything like them(oval, small, rounded edges) on Ebay or elsewhere! My mother bought these many years ago with the intent to paint them, but never did. She was an amazing tole painter) They are in superb condition except for stains that would come from normal usage. See photos for details. The factory sadly burned in 1955, so these are older than that. Size is 6.5 inches at its widest diameter. Height about 1.5 inches- thickness about 3/8 inch. Wow. Antique Vintage Munising Wood Dough Bowl 11" Natural Finish Early Mark 1930s-40s
PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE BIDDING. Up for auction is an antique/vintage natural finish. Wooden, out of round 11" dough bowl by Munising out of Munising, MI. The bowl has a couple of issues, there are 3 distinct cracks in the bowl from soaking in water over the years(please see pics) The woodburnt mark on the bottom is one of the earlier stamps from the late 30's to the early 40's. There is also a smudge of yellowish paint on the outside edge of the bowl that has been there for quite some time. Overall this is not a perfect example, but it is still a nice piece for any collector, and if treated with care, it could still be a functional dough bowl.
