Early Paris Kentucky Miniature Walnut Chest of Drawers, Dovetailed ,Cockbeaded
This walnut Miniature Dresser is one of a kind was purchased in a estate auction in Paris Kentucky. The dresser is hand dovetailed, top and sides are wooden pegged,with COCKBEADING on all draws very early process indeed. The legs are nicely turned, reeded corners stiles. The walnut is beautiful and the secondary popular is what you would expect in a very early dresser, the bottom of the draws are back cut to fit very early technique. This little beauty is 18& 7/8 wide by 23 1/2 inches long by 13 1/2 inches from front to back.

What a sweet chest of drawers. Salesman sample from circa 1850. Made of Walnut It measures 9 inches tall 9 1/2 inches wide 5 3/4 deep The chest has a water stain on the top. I have never tried to bleach it out. It looks to have been finished in the past. The rear of one of the drawers looks like it had been nibbled on in it's past. See photo. I have owned it for 25 years purchased it from an estate in Maine. You can see in the photo that they did a repair to the top left corner of the top drawer Patched with care. The sample shows very well and the Walnut has depth in the grains. So nice to look at. About 20 pieces in all, of antique miniature silver. All of it will be listed here on eBay over the next day or two. It is all guaranteed to be as represented and I will gladly combine shipping. This listing is for a dutch circa 1910 miniature Sterling silver bureau desk. It measures just over 3 inches tall at 8 cm. It weighs 80 grams or about 2.7 troy ounces. At the top of the piece are two opening doors with pierced and cut out design. Under these doors is a slant front desk and under the desk top is a large drawer. The front sides and even the top are decorated with a mixture of country scenes and cherubs. The whole sits on four ball feet. The top of the chest has a large cornice. ... moreThe whole thing is very rococo in design. There are many hallmarks on this piece. 14 in all. The main hallmarks identifying it's country of manufacturer and the date it was made are on the right front door, The letter"B" in a circle the Dutch date letter for 1910, and on the back of the chest a lion over stamped with a key indicating this piece was made to be exported from the Netherlands where it was made. There is also on the drawer bottom another indication of it's Dutch heritage the head of Minerva stamped with the letter"M" for the city of Schoonhoven where this piece was assayed. The makers mark, also at the back of the piece is"B.M.L. The"925" marks stand for sterling quality silver. It is in excellent condition with the exception that one of the two drawer pulls is missing. Circa 1880- 1900, but please make up your own mind about this. The chest of drawers measures approx 11 3/4 inches(300mm) wide. By 6 1/4 inches(160mm) deep, by 10 inches(250mm) tall, and is made from solid oak, with pine linings to the drawers. There are three pull out drawers. With cast iron handles. This is for a vintage oriental lacquered 7 drawer miniature chest of drawers in need of some TLC. I think it is from around the early1900's but am not sure. There are 6 small drawers in 3 layers and a 7th across the bottom. One of the small drawers is missing its handle. There are carrying handles on the sides- the same as on the drawers. Originally there were doors over the 6 drawer section but are not there now. The face of the unit has a volcano scene. It is approx 23.5cm long by 12.5cm deep and 22cm high. There is no reserve. Description: Antique French Empire Style Miniature Chest of Drawers Jewelry Box. 19th-Early 20th C. Probably France. Nicely crafted, the diminutive chest with single hidden drawer above three drawers fitted with two brass handles and key escutcheon(non-functioning) the lower drawers flanked by full columns on either side. The primary wood and veneers appear to be walnut or a similar hardwood with what appear to be oak and pine/poplar secondary woods. Dimensions: 12.25" high x 17" wide x 9.75" deep. Weight: 11 lbs. Condition: Overall. The chest is in good condition with normal wear consistent with age. There surface of the chest with light scratches and dents from years of handling and use; the brass fittings ... morelightly oxidized. The top panel with stable crack along the middle and what appears to be a small filled chip along the left edge(at the base of the crack) The interior of the drawers with some dirt/dust and ink residue, the surfaces with slight adhesive residue from a old lining(now removed) Please see photos below for an accurate depiction of the condition. This is a beautiful and quite rare antique miniature chest of drawers. It appears to be a furniture salesman's sample. The style appears to be an 18th century style. This piece is quite old and appears to be at least early 19th century and possibly earlier. Many of the drawers appear to be made from pieces of wooden antique cigar boxes. The chest of drawers measures 14" tall x 9 3/4" wide at widest point x 6" deep not including the handles. It has wear from use but overall has a great antique style and looks amazing. The box is pine and nailed together using square nails with a few round head that are later additions. I would date this box in the last quarter of the 19th century. It has some type of a side catch to keep the top from falling back when opened, one side is broke. The finish is all alligator and adds to the great look. Has the usual wear you would expect for being almost 50 yrs old- see close-ups of photos. It was a gift to each graduate of the CHS class of 1967 from the no longer in business Chesterton Furniture Store of Chesterton Indiana whose name is engraved on the underside of the lid. MINIATURE CHARLES 1 OAK PLANK CHEST. EARLY 17TH CENTURY.
CHARLES 1 SIX PLANK COFFER A fine example of English craftsmanship from the early 17th century. This oak plank chest stands at just 6" high x 5" wide x 3" deep. It has been constructed using the pegged and wedge technique. It features a simple incised carved and scratch design to the front and top panel. The lid opens easily with pin hinges- the common style used at that time. The planked sides are cut out in a'V' shape. The front and back panels are wedged into place. There is a small faint water stain on the lid. The underside has the makers initials possibly BR and the numeral 87 X1 This would have been an apprentice piece or traveling salesman example of workmanship. Thanks for looking. Has marks hear and there,with a nice warm worn patina. Totally original drawer knobs(odd one has been reglued at some time) Becoming increasingly hard to find. Up for bid is one miniature Lane Cedar Chest Salesman sized Lane chests were given to young ladies. Back in the day, as they graduated High School as a way to introduce them to the Lane brand This one is from the 1950's and presented by Bouffard's Furniture of Farmington. Maine. Wonderful piece of American history. Original Key is not included. So was unable to test it to see if the lock works. Perfect as a jewelry or valet box. Fair shape. As a preowned item this does show signs of usage. See photos for complete visual inspection. There is a liquid or water spill spot in the bottom. It may be able to be gently sanded down with a fine grade sandpaper. Not sure though. There are three light scratches on the side.
